Here's how I would handle Liara post-DLC:



At some point, Liara suffers a serious injury - possibly a limb. Fortunately, modern medicine combined with asari regenerative capabilities means that she will heal - just not soon enough. She will be available in ME3, possibly from the beginning.

I want to say my idea... but I don't want to give it out because it's personal. But I think you'll get 3 different end scenes. One if you romanced her, and didn't move on, that goes 2 ways. One if you moved on, that goes 2 ways. And one if you never romanced her, that goes 2 ways.

I support this because she was my favorite character in the whole ME1 game and then when I found out I couldn't have her on ME2 I was disappointed I hope they put Liara on ME3 she is also my favorite asari in the game even though all of them look alike buts it is Liara's has something different that makes her so likable.............I didn't get Liara in ME2 so I want her in ME3 she should and should have been a squad mate in ME2 and ME3.

I haven't been on the forums a while, but my interest is turning back to ME 2 now that a Liara DLC is coming out. Since this thread is huge, could someone give me the long and short of the theories at the moment: do you think Liara will be a temporary squadmate in this DLC? Do you think that the romance will be continued, or will Bioware blow it off until ME 3?

Thanks everyone who answered my questions and gave their theories: sorry I couldn't respond sooner!  But did they bring back the VAs for this DLC?  I thought hackers had already found the dialogue hidden in the original game files?

Personally, I doubt Liara will come with Shepard after the DLC.  She will probably find a computer or something with the Shadow Broker's info on it and "Stay to search through the files."  I don't see Bioware taking the time to incorporate her into the rest of the game, especially the suicide mission, just to appease fans, as this would be very complicated and cost a lot more money.  I'd also guess that there would be one or two comments about previous romances, but no major dialogue until ME3, like a lot of people are suspecting.

Those voice files were the cut files from the original game. They refer to and reference portions of the current version of Liara's Illium hacking quests. They did do new VO for this DLC.

Oh ok. I saw someone write before that there were voice files for Liara in the main game for an unannounced DLC, so I figured that was this one. Well I have more hope that this will be a good DLC with the voice actors returning: Bioware answered a lot of fan requests with ME2, maybe they'll do the same for this DLC and throw in some romance options.

You might be right...they may take all the different romance statuses into consideration and Shepard may have different options to consider.  The only thing they cannot do (IMO) is involve the ME2 LI...whatever will happen romance wise in this DLC will be just between Liara and Shepard.

Liara, yeah...she and the Shepard that I role play ME with once had a great thing going on between them...some kind of beautiful and epic romance.



It turned awkward in ME2. But that's expected when one of them comes back from the dead after two years, and the other one is partially responsible for it.
