As long as it isn't Jennifer Hale or Mark Meer that voices the PC in DA2.

Male Hawke should Al Pacino or Morgan Freeman.

I think you can comprehensively rule that out.

Not only because it would mean ridiculous amounts of voicework need doing for the two of them, they are having a hard enough time convincing people Hawke isnt a fantasy version of Shepard as is. Using those two wouldnt help matters at all.

We see with Kaidan that if people hear a voice, they abandon logic and spout stupid crap about the characters being the same even though they fundamentally arent.

I don't get the Kaidan hate either. He the only ME character that truly don't deserve most if his critisicisem.

Ali Hillis is quite capable of voicing a lead protagonist, as we saw with Lightning in Final Fantasy XIII. I say why not?

Hell, she'd have to voice a protagonist if the Liara-focused spin off game I've suggested in the past ever comes to fruition. XD

There's one more thing that differentiates Liara from Tali. Now, I've only done her romance once, but it seemed to me that Tali was a lot more enamored with the identity and legend of Commander Shepard. Whereas Liara seemed to be attracted to the personality and character of (first name) Shepard.

Pretty interesting view. I only have a second hand view of the romance via cutscenes I have seen.

Maybe its got something to do with Talis place in ME1 or something, but you are right in regards to Liara though. I mean, after she looks up information to learn more about who Shepard is, she doesnt really focus on Shepards reputation or past exploits.

If we do get Liara back for ME3, Id be quite interested to see the kind of direction any hypothetical romance dialogues would go. Especially when you consider any romance in ME3, new character or original, is going to be taking place while everything should be crashing towards a final conclusion.

I'd love that, and would be really interested in hearing what Ali would say about Liara and Mass Effect in general.

Since I don't own the collectors editions of either ME game, I was wondering if there are any videos featuring Ali Hillis behind the scenes??  Like an interview or some behind the scenes stuff.  If not, there totally should be on the ME3 collector's disk.

Nope, not at all! I believe that the Collector's Edition DVD merely contains an abundance of backslapping and is basically an extended advert for the game, rather than a "making of" featurette. An interview featuring Ali totally should be conducted at some point, though!

This reminds me. Does it sadden anybody else that Ali Hillis is merely listed under "Additional Voices" in the ME2 credits? It gives me the impression that both her and Liara were an afterthought.:crying:

I have noticed that DLC alters the end credits, however, so I'm sure that after the release of the Liara DLC both Ali and Liara will get full billing in the credits!

Oh, and that asari on Illium that trivialises and ridicules human/asari relationships?

It will be great bringing the team back together again.

Too bad Wrex and the alliance soldier won't join us.

I also absolutely love the fact that BioWare created that screenshot, featuring both Garrus and Tali alongside Liara and Shepard. It's a very nice touch, and creates a definite "bringing the band back together" feel. Love it!

Of course! The horror that was her previous ME2 role will at last be addressed, and we will at last be treated to Liara's full ME2 role. Can't wait!

That is, unless the SB has been manipulated the Alliance and the Virmire Survivor into believing Liara is using Shepard. But then, while it potentially might be an interesting plot twist, it would actively pit the VS and Liara fanbases against each other.

And as for Wrex, they could just randomly run into a krogan cook-out with Chef Wrex wearing a "Kiss the cook's ass" apron.

Hey guys.
Haven't been in since the SB DLC was announced, but I have seen a massive leap in posts over the past few days.
From the sounds of it, most of the old crew will be, more or less, reassembled in time for ME3. Hmm, wonder what will be Liara's role in all of this?

I support this! Chosing between Liara and Tali was the hardest decision of my life... I chose Tali (didn't romance in ME and Tali in ME2) but now I'm making another ME playthrough with Liara and staying loyal in ME2. :D I support Liara as squadmate and LI in ME3... I also support Tali! Tali and Liara are requirements for ME3... Mass Effect isn't complete without them... also can't wait for the Liara DLC

Hey CM, good to have you back.

I have speculated in the past that Liara's expertise in the Protheans may be relevant at some point during the events of ME3, and that it will somehow be related to what will be her key story role in the game. What I suggested before is that at some point the Reapers seize control of the relay network, and that Liara is needed to decipher and understand the Protheans' mass relay research recovered from Ilos.

They definitely weren't an afterthought, since Liara is a pretty major character in the whole story. Chances are she just doesn't have enough "screen time" in ME2 specifically to qualify for being listed separately. Ashley/Kaidan VAs are probably listed as "additional voices" too.

The fact that she didn't have enough screen time does sadden me of course.

No arguements on that point LET. In her role of interpretor of both visions and language, I can see her as being able to decypher something that should allow Shepard to stop the Reapers in their tracks ... permanently. Perhaps relating to the relays, as suggested, but also perhaps something concerning the Reapers themselves.

Well, we won't know for sure untill around the end of 2011 or so, but still ....

Yeah, I know. I'm just being sentimental and silly. I'm aware of the fact that Liara's overarching story role in the trilogy is vitally important, and probably second behind Shepard. I know it's due to the fact she received minimal screentime.

But still...additional voices.:crying:

Indeed. Have you noticed that both Noveria and Feros were removed from the codex in ME2, but that Virmire and Ilos remain? Possibility of returning to either planet in ME3, and Liara's Prothean expertise being necessary on Ilos?

Be-caaause the Virmire Survivor is my second favorite and the fact that my brother --who I share a room with-- is a huge Ashley fan and I'd hate to be at odds with him.
