Liara leading her own team of commandos and displaying herself to be a competant and able leader would be perfect for her character, in my opinion. However, I am selfish and would prefer that she is a temporary squadmate for the duration of her DLC. :P

I would quite like that aforementioned suggestion, though, and I wouldn't mind if BW implement something like that. It would be testament to Liara's assertiveness, strength and power.

What type of leadership do you guys mean? If you're talking about administrating og keeping order in an orginasation then sure I could imagine her doing that. But I could never imagine Liara becoming some sort of tactical genius on the battlefield or second fire team leader like on the suicide mission.

There are many different types of command. You don't have to be a tactical genius or an unstoppable fighter to be one. The core of what is needed is intelligence, insight, respect of your subordinates and the ability to make informed command decisions.

I just have hard time imagineing Liara pulling something off like what the Second team leader does on the suicide mission.

Hey guys...ya think that looks like Liara?

In my learning process of Digital paint I'm currently trying to recreate the Redemption Cover without really looking at that reference to much.

I think if you fix that. Then it's a job well done.

I'm not saying that's the stuff she would necessarily be doing. One of her subordinates could be doing the actual battle command. They just answer to her.

Oh, and people; I know it's August and Bioware said they would be releasing new information about the Lair DLC.

But I wouldn't hope for a trailer. And interview probably, and maybe some more screenshots to go with it. We might even get a date for a trailer, but I doubt they'll come off the bat with a trailer.

Ahh. Misunderstanding!

But yeah, I could imagine her being able to do that.

I've just noticed something.

I've been alot less pessimestic for a long time.

I wonder why?

"Liara-soon-exposure-effect" maybe?:P;)

Maybe...

Still. It's feels strange to have a optimistic outlook on the situation now.

It's OK...it happened to me too.

It's a good thing.

I also would like to see Liara as a leader in this DLC although I would prefer that her forces are not unique characters but also not simple hired muscle I would like Liara team to be more like a very well trained personal ellite force. That's why I would like that this DLC is something like the suicie misson this way we could see both Liara and Shepard leading their teams and in some points see both teams fighting together and then the final confrontation of the DLC would be just Liara and Shepard against the SB or Tazziq while their teams hold the rest of the SB army.

Bye Marcin!

That's a good point you've brought up.  I don't think Liara will be a squad mate in this DLC, in the sense that the player will not be able to issue squad commands or power commands to her.  Your squad will just consist of Shepard plus the 2 ME2 squad mates of your choosing.  Liara, then, may be off leading her own team, as you suggested, and we may see some of the action in cutscenes.

There may be times when Liara re-joins up with Shepard's squad (as we see in that one screen shot) for dialog purposes.  But I don't expect Liara will be in Shepard's squad at all, and I don't think they will be trying out the 4 person squad thing, as some have suggested.

I don't think we will see a trailer until mid-August.

I'm hoping for a release date soon, though.  That may be part of an interview.

I happen to believe that Liara will be a temporary squadmate for the duration of her DLC, and will occupy one of the two regular squadmate roles, the other being the ME2 squaddie of your choice. That's just me, though.

Well....there's that screen shot with both Garrus and Tali in it...how do you explain that?

I already have done multiple times, yo!

The three characters were all inserted into the screenshot alongside Shepard to induce feelings of nostalgia for ME1, and to provide a reference back to the original game. In actuality, the game will follow the standard "Shepard & two squadmates" system that we are familiar with, with Liara occupying one of those roles. That's the only reason as to why Garrus and Tali were featured in that screenshot. To induce feelings of nostalgia amongst the playerbase.

Also, that one screenshot featuring Shepard, Liara, Garrus and Tali does not seem to be an image from a cutscene, either. To me, it appears to be a mid-combat screen capture with various edits to the depicted characters, like Garrus firing his sniper rifle from the hip, for stylistic purposes.

Why is the imminent release of a trailer for the Liara DLC unlikely, by the way? IIRC, the announcement of the Kasumi DLC was accompanied with a trailer, which also happened to be several weeks before the actual content was released. So, why is the release of a trailer as early as next week unlikely?

With Overlord, we only got pictures till the release date. Then we got the trailer.

I'll have to pull my "seeing what you want to see" card for this one. If there were edits like the ones you're suggesting to the characters, then it wouldn't be in the screenshots Media folder. It would be shinied up a bit more and made into a wallpaper. The screenshot folder is for unaltered screens taken from the game. Bioware have never done anything like what you're suggesting, and if they did it would probably fall into the category of false advertising.

Yeah, but Liara's DLC is almost certain to be more substantial and expansive than both Overlord and Kasumi, with potential far reaching implications. Overlord is also an independant, stand-alone mission that has little effect outside of it's own content, whereas Kasumi's DLC added her character to the game as a squadmate. Considering that Liara's DLC will be concerning one of the core characters of the trilogy, I find it to be extremely likely that Liara's DLC will follow the same formula seen with Kasumi.
