Really? I guess people should be bashing Wrex too then! <_<

Also the pessimist inside me tell me that at best there will be acknowlegdement from Liara that Miranda/Tali/Garrus is in the team (like Dr. Archer acknowlegde Legion during overlord) But They (The 3 squadmates) won't have any dialog themselves. At best a handshake or something that won't require dialog.

Wrex isn't an easy target for morons like Liara is.

Lizard, what you're suggesting is very likely, I believe. Vocal acknowledgement from Liara of Miranda/Garrus/Tali is very possible as it was obviously necessary for Ali to record new lines for this DLC, as Liara is featured prominently and is the main focus. However, it is not necessary to call Yvonne, Brandon and Liz back into the recording studio, as they are not the main focus of this DLC. Considering that fact, vocal acknowledgement from Liara is a distinct possibility, whereas a physical response from one of the three aforementioned characters is more likely.

Of course, I'd prefer there to be fully voiced dialogue.

While I would love that you are right we must be realistic. This is DLC which means it's budget won't be that big again and having 3 extra voice actors in it seems unrealistic (especially if this is post-suicide mission).

It was not necessary to engineer a "rocky second chapter" with Wrex, unlike with Ashley, Kaidan and Liara.

Mass Effect was never great on party banter in the first place, so I am not surprised. Dragon Age, of course, is a great example of banter.

I wonder if they're tired of us throwing Dragon Age up to them yet.

They've spoiled us rotten.

Honestly, ME1 actually had very poor party banter. ME2 had even less than that. They're starving me. And dehydrating me.

Need... water...

At least Mass Effect had elevators.  O sweet elevators.

Agreed. Unless, of course, additional dialogue for the Liara DLC was recorded back when the VAs were in the studio recording their lines for the retail version of ME2, as some have speculated.

The DLC can realistically only be good if they recorded the voices together with the main game. It would be the classic case of "cut from main game, sold as DLC", but I would tolerate it once because it's my favorite character.

But only if the DLC is actually worth it, otherwise they won't see any money from me. It especially has to have some sort of acknowledgement of the romance, because everything else would be just as contrived and artificial as the scene in the main game, and I am not going to support that any more financially.

Which we complained about, so they cut them.

But they mistakenly thought, I believe, that we were complaining about the banter.

No, BioWare. We were complaining about the wait. Keep the banter. Banter is always good. Always always always.

The DLC is and MUST be good quality.

The worst part is. I would buy ME3, if only because I wanna see the reaper plot unfold. But if I get more of the same stuff I got in ME2, then I'll guess I'm gonna feel disapointed at Bioware then consider ME1 a good standalone story.

Of course, and that is the reason as to why it was not necessary to have Wrex's relationship with Shepard be somewhat strained during the events of ME2, as he is not a love interest and does not require a "rocky second chapter", unlike Ashley, Kaidan and Liara.

I have no problem at all with the direction they have taken the three aforementioned characters. Had it been well written, it could have been very compelling and interesting. However, the execution is poor, and has left alot of player's scratching their heads in confusion and frustration with regards to the three original LIs. I do happen to believe that potential still remains in Liara's ME2 character arc. It's just that it desperately needs more elaboration and exposition, something that I am certain this DLC will provide.

I firmly distance myself from that "we" comment.

I actually prefer the elevators to the immersion breaking loading screens.

However, that's a debate for another time and thread.

That debate is totally relevant to this thread! Liara loves elevators to.

I dont like both loading screens...because they're both annoyingly long.

though...I would agree to a loading screen where the camera is focusing on Liara...while she blushes and is ashamed to have to stare in the camera :D

I am aware of the fact that it is quite possible that the chief motivation behind releasing what I consider to be Liara's "full" ME2 role is greed, but I really do not allow it to bother me that much. As I mentioned previously, I believe that this DLC pack at last allows the player to acquire Liara's ME2 role in full and as originally intended. There could be many reasons as to why it has been repurposed as DLC. Perhaps BW believed that merely developing it as an extension of the retail version of the game would not allow them to devote the time and attention to Liara and her content that they felt was necessary, and farmed it out to DLC accordingly? Perhaps they did so to ensure that Liara's content would be of the best possible quality?

But only if the DLC is actually worth it, otherwise they won't see any money from me. It especially has to have some sort of acknowledgement of the romance, because everything else would be just as contrived and artificial as the scene in the main game, and I am not going to support that any more financially.

Of course, and I will be extremely disappointed if the romance is not featured and handled in this DLC. It would be horrendously contrived and artificial. However, I am confident that the DLC will tackle Liara's romance, and that is actually one of the reasons as to why it was all but ignored in the retail version of ME2.

I don't care what reason they had to put such important part of Liara character in a DLC no mater the reason I can't understand why this kind of content will be released in a DLC this is a major part of Liara role in the trilogy it should have been in one of the main games like I said before this kind of content being released in a DLC for me it's like the suicide misson being released in a DLC and not be in the main game.

I believe that your frustration and anger is justified, Wolf, but like I said I do not allow it to bother me that much.

That would be cute! Reminds me of the loading screens in MGS4 featuring Snake smoking a cigarette, only infinitely more appealing as it features Liara!

Elevators: I thought the wait was a little long, but liked the idea myself.  I also miss the docking bay. :crying:

I miss the airlock! It provided a brilliant sense of immersion, and really did create the feeling that you were disembarking from the Normandy, ready to explore the galaxy.

With Liara, of course.

I love Jen, she's awesome.

On the matter of VAs...I recently played through FF13 and never noticed that Lightning is voiced by Ali Hillis...quite amazing...the variety some voice actors can deliver
