Garrus or Udina? no problem
But others (like Kelly)...
She has to live up to her scary, 'Butcher of Torfan' moniker.

With Liara passion for the protheans we can see her determination and her courage she is wiling to go against every thing that people want from her to follow her own path this is very difficult when someone is so young she is also don't let the fact that other asari scholars don't pay attention to her job make her less motivated to continue her research and we can see how inteligent she is because even without any beacon she comes very close to find the answer for the protheans extintion she even found that the protheans were not the first species to existe that even they climbe on the top of those that came before in others words she came very close to dicover the galaxy true story much time before Sovering explain it to Shepard. And the passion that Liara has in her voice when talks about the protheans could get the attention of even the most desintersted person love the subject that she is talking about.
When Liara is atacked by the geth we see how resoucefull she is by being able to avoid capture even when she caught totaly by suprise. We can also see how fast Liara is capable to adapt to new realities when she leaves her life as scientist to became a soldier any other person would limite her participation on the misson to just give information about the protheans but she is wiling to risk her life fighting batles like she has never fought before becuse she understands how important the misson is and she wants to help she don't even let the fact that she will have to confront her own mother come in the way of the misson because that's the right thing to do is required a great strenght to face the people that we love and care for and Liara is willing to do it.
During the misson we can see Liara compasionate personality when she is always defending that Shepard take the way that makes less victims no mater how more difficult that makes the misson and she don't let prejudice to cloud her judgment we can see this in when she ask us to spare the queen when the option that makes more sense is killing the queen because her spicies have been a threat before.
In the romance with Shepard we can see that Liara is not afraid to show her felings even if there is the posibilty of geting hurt, however she want to take the relationship in her on pace this shows a great maturity for someone so young she also don't let the fact that Shepard will live much less time than her affect the relationship we can also see that Liara is very honest when she says that her initialy atraction for Shepard was because his conection with the protheans, we can also see that although she wants to be with Shepard she is not willing to lose her indpendance when she says that she is not looking for a protector this also shows that she wants to be with Shepard not becuse of any advantage that might bring to her but because she truly loves Shepard. In the scene before Ilos we can see that Liara has enought courage to face the reality because she don't try to fool herself with ilusions about their chances she face the reality as it is.
In her hunt for Shepard we can once again see her how strong she is emotionly and her comapsion because after know that her love is death and that he is going to be sold to a race of monsters few people would be able to handle Feron betrayals without kiling him and even show some care for him when she tries to put him in the right path. We can also see her courage and her love for Shepard because she is wiling to risk her life to save Shepard body just a body and in Redemption final decison we can see how much Liara really loves Shepard because she is willing to risk his het in order to save him and she dindin't care how much that will hurt her.
Once again in ME2 we can see Liara courage, resourcefulness and adaptability she is willing to face one of the most powefull people in the Galaxy alone althought her reasons are still a litle confuse for what I have seen of her character and personality I have no doubts that they are good.

Liara is pleased.

I agree with everything you said. You highlighted her intelligent, compassionate, and courageous aspects very well. Also, how mature she seems for one that is supposedly so young.

[I'm only making up the option for Liara to die because she's the only romance that is unable to die]

I do wonder if there is a Liara romancer out there that would choose duty over her, though.

However, I am sure that there are people out there, that romance Liara, that would also choose duty over her. Most likely for RP reasons, and for the sake of drama.
But still...;_;

Is that all your Shepards or just the Liara romancer?
I guess that's another question...what would you do with Shepards that didn't romance her...would this affect your choice?

Depends if the information is mission-critical, saving Liara at the cost of all life in the galaxy doesn't really make any sense at all, but short of that I'd save Liara. I'd stamp on a sack full of kittens to save Liara, though I doubt she'd approve.
That's another quite interesting angle to the whole choice. If Shepard were to save Liara's life, at the cost of the lives of thousands of innocents, how would she react? Would she chastise Shepard, and insist that the civilians should have been saved instead?

I never romanced her (except twice on accident, both times I started crying because I believed I was romancing the humans) but I'd always pick to rescue Liara over the Shadow Broker except on my Get-the-job-done Renegade.

Haa haa, probably not.
Oh, you bring up another good point. What if Liara is upset with Shepard for choosing her over the mission?

I would also rescue her even if I didn't romance her...that goes for all squad mates, actually, not just Liara.

Most of them. I had some that are incurable romantics, though none romanced Liara. But if the choice is between the mission or their LI, most will choose the mission.

What absolutely boggles my mind are the spiteful individuals that would choose to side with the Shadow Broker over Liara, and willingly kill her. What the hell? Especially after she saved your life.
Luckily, these people are few and far between.

There's people who believe Mass Effect should allow you to kill every NPC you meet in a fashion similar to Oblivion. I wouldn't let it bother you much.

I think that Liara in ME1 would but in ME2 after Liara chose to hand Shepard body to cerberus because she couldn't let him go she would understand Shepard.

Oh I see...the new Shep I just created is kind of like that, but she would still save Liara, but feel terrible about it and the choice would be very difficult. She did not romance Liara in ME1.
My canon Shep would save Liara without thinking twice.
