In terms of romance, Liara has a better romance then Miri.

There's nothing wrong with them...they are probably the better male LI's, IMO.

It hurts to choose tho.....

     me knows...since i never saved Kaidan...even though i tried once...all my female Shep are either alone or with Liara by the end of ME1

I for one almost always save Kaidan, it just felt to me like the right
choice cause ash seems more prepared to die. she says it herself "it
should have been me, and you know it."

Basically I only saved ash in 1 playthrough, my renegade male shep.

Then romance both. Do a Kaidan / Rejected Liara, or a Liara / Rejected Kaidan. Then do a Thane Romance. And in ME3, pick the one you like the most.

assuming Liara won't melt your brain in ME3...if u cheated on her,,,

I agree. But Miranda's is the best romance in ME 2 in my opinion. It's also the only one that has at least some sort of connection to the actual story, like all ME 1 LIs had (which is one of the reasons they're the better romances).

To be honest, Virmire ruined the Ashley romance for me on my first character (I was already in a romance with her before I even saw Liara, give me a break...), killing Kaidan to be with Ash just felt wrong, and I suspect it would've overshadowed the entire relationship from an RP perspective.

So, in order:

Liara

Tali (I unchecked my Ash romance with the save editor specifically to see hers, but that ruined the character a bit, importing gives the game context but the save editor seemed to take that away. Not Tali's fault, but even then she's no Liara.)

Well, surely there were other reasons too? But that's indeed an interesting conflict that should've played a larger role. But weren't they attempting to create a "rocky" time in the relationship for ME 2? There you'd have the perfect opportunity. Wasted, like so many other opportunities they had.

Doesn't Ashley in ME1 say to you during the de-brief that you should have saved Kaidan instead due to him being supiorier rank? If you romance Ashley you can giver her the "I could never let you go" sentence. But I always save Kaidan simply because he outranks Ashley and I actuelly like Kaidan more (as a character of course).
