Or we'll be able to see more of the Shadow Broker's prospective. Or maybe the Geth.

Geth already showed in ME2 maingame that they wish to cooperate.

Still, we could play as Legion as he makes his first forays into organic space. But this is getting off-topic.

I wonder what this means: http://twitter.com/p...ses/17683725405

Well, "The Beach" was an episode that focused mainly on the antagonists of the series. An episode that gave them extra dimmension and depth. And also an antagonist taking another step towards joining the cause of the protagonists.

Well, perhaps the Shadow Broker will end up joining Shepard's cause in the end, and will provied some aid against the Reapers.

I checked out what Patrick Weekes was referring to, and he was responding to this link that was sent to him via Twitter:

It's nothing to do with the Liara DLC.

Good. I was afraid that the SB would end up joining us. As tthat would make Liara's search somewhat rediculess.

Liara: I've spent 2 years hunting you down! And now... it's time... to die!

Shadow Broker: What if I gave you some free passes for the beaches of Norray?

Liara: For how long?

Shadow Broker: About 2 years worth.

Liara: Well, then I guess you got a deal.

Shepard: :pinched:

How about Liara in a bikini, relaxing on a beach alongside Shepard?

Liara: I'm sorry Shepard. I'm too busy getting a tan, and your blocking my sun.

Yeah. That's the thing I was afraid they were gonna pull off. It would be even more hilarious if Liara just dropped her vendetta a moment after, like she never had a grudge with the SB to begin with.

I just hope that Shepard won't have a ridiculous amount of influence. I mean, Charm/Intimidate line - ONE line and a moment later Liara or the Shadow Broker completely reverse their position.

Not necessarily.

If the only reason that the SB agrees to help Shepard is b/c of Liara (the SB is impressed by her and agrees to help one of her allies), then the hunt was not in vain.

Maybe Liara would ultimately believe that the SB can "redeem" itself by assisting the pair of them in the war against the Reapers, and providing necessary funding and equipmant using it's vast empire?

Or I could.... Kill the SB and remove a potential enemy forever and just have Feron (if he's alive) or Liara (if only she still can be a squadmate in ME3) take his place and use his resources.

The SB will always be a beter option than Liara or Feron because he have been doing this for a long time he has much more experience that those two combined and he already knows his empire if Liara or Feron took over the SB empire it will take time for them to know the full size of the SB empire so for me it would be beter to let the SB live and use him as a ally.

I would like to see the SB as an ally and in a way that make Liara hunt worth something but I hope that is not the reason because Shepard took down one reaper and his arm and them took down the collectors and the SB only realise that he his worth helping because Liara caught him? I would prefer that in the end the SB is presented wiht two choices or help or be replaced this way Liara hunt will also worth something.

While I agree, its been the central point of the persuasion system even in ME1. If the "deal with the shadow broker once and for all line" is to be believed, I dont think youll be determining if the SB lives or dies. Maybe its just in dialogue for Liara.

To be honest though, its already been established that nothing mega critical is going to happen since its DLC. Well, unless this really is the start of the "bridging DLC". Maybe then youll get the something in the way of a slightly substantial transferable choice.

Perhaps completing the DLC will grant you a bonus in ME3, (like a bigger chance to defeat the Reapers, or something).

Wouldn't it be great if the roles were reversed for a change, with Liara having to decide whether to save Shepard, or kill the SB? Shepard could only influence her indirectly, by how he treats her before and what he does. That of course wouldn't work in a short DLC though, but it's how an influence system could really work.

That would be an interesting twist...they won't do it, though.  :P

I think that would hamper the "standalone" nature of each ME game. Influencing the ability to complete the game based on previous games or DLC doesnt sound like something ANY game developer would do, let alone "we must cater to the noobs first and foremost" Bioware.

Just like the suicide mission is a "challenge" to keep your squad alive or else Shepard will die, ME3 will have the war effort against the Reapers. Where all our major choices will factor into them and hopefully make it so you can win the war. So maybe completing the DLC will grant you a bonus to help yo out.

Of course. This could all be giberish since I don't got a crystalball to see how ME3 will be.
