I have been thinking about what Liara's email will say, and what the first conversation will be like. I think it will match the atmosphere and tone of Liara's second ME2 conversation. We will see her anger at the SB again, her paranoia, etc.

Most likely, and that is what I also believe. However, throughout the duration of the DLC mission, Liara will progressively open up and drop her hardened facade as she begins the process of relating all of her pain, suffering and guilt to Shepard, and we at last gain the ability to comfort and ease her of her anguish, and her emotional torment. Throughout the course of the DLC, we will see Liara open up and begin to gain an understanding of the exact nature of her thought processes, and how her pain has affected her.

Paragon hug interrupt FTW.

Yes! Tali received one, and now it is Liara's turn!

Though, I would prefer a Paragon kiss interrupt, of course. ^_^

I just hope we can turn her into Evil!Liara!!!!

Yes please, kind of how you could turn Garrus on to the Paragon Path or push him further towards Renegade in ME1 and kind of in ME2, I want more possibilitys to "mold" NPC's!

Besides, it would make her a better fit for my more bastardly acting characters

Interview w/ CHUD.  Says some ME1 characters not recrutable in ME2 so they don't get killed.  So, if there was ever any doubt ... starts about 1:50 mark.

And a faceslap interrupt for the Renegades, "Pull yourself together Liara!"
I kinda hate myself for saying this, and you probably will too :(

Thanks, Jamie! That pretty much confirms it, then. Straight from the horse's mouth. The development staff need Ashley, Kaidan and Liara alive for ME3. The fact that this is an absolute necessity indicates that they will play huge story roles in the third game, almost certainly as squadmates. At least, I believe so.

Isn't that interview just from when ME2 was released?

Just before it was released, yes. An old interview.

"Keeping them alive" doesnt necessarily mean squadmate of course, but its about the single most positive thing thats ever been said about the ME1 LIs crap roles in ME2 (by the demonised Casey Hudson no less).

As I said earlier, youd like to think making a point of asking Ashley/Kaidan and Liara if they will join you in ME2 (multiple times with Liara) is a good indication that they are still going to be squadmates again, but you never know.

You should post that in the Liara DLC thread...some are still speculating she can be killed in the DLC

Hmmm, maybe, but I think it has become standard practice for information or announcements pertaining to BW DLCs to be announced on Thursdays.

Hopefully...IGN is now listing the release date as Sept. 30, but I don't believe it.

I don't think you guys have anything to worry about re: Liara in ME3.

My Renegade FemShep has just informed me that she is in fact bisexual and her early belittling of Liara was a twisted way of showing attraction. I hopee I haven't already broke the romance.

Isn't that just mere speculation though? They're making a conservative estimate due to the fact that it is highly likely that the DLC will be released in Q3.

Even if Bioware really means the "3-independant stories" I still believe Liara got a decent chance at being a squadmate. Since she can't die and provides the perfect illusion that ME3 is a continuation of the story.

But there's still a good chance that the joke is on you and me.

You can't break the romance by being mean, so it's still possible.

Ah, that's good! Make sure that you keep us updated concerning how you're RPing your Shepard, and her romance with Liara, jtav!

Oh I agree that if anyone should be a squadmate in ME3, its got to be Liara and the VS, since they are the only guaranteed survivors.

Still, I wouldnt put it past them to simply make all of the squadmates new. The Majority of the ME2 squad have got to go, just because to keep them from a simple diffence in variables standpoint is insane. Hopefully instead of caving in and thinking its best to placate everyone by only offering new squadmates, theyll actually say that they made their intentions clear with ME2, and what they had planned for ME3.
