Oh I agree that if anyone should be a squadmate in ME3, its got to be Liara and the VS, since they are the only guaranteed survivors.

Still, I wouldnt put it past them to simply make all of the squadmates new. The Majority of the ME2 squad have got to go, just because to keep them from a simple diffence in variables standpoint is insane. Hopefully instead of caving in and thinking its best to placate everyone by only offering new squadmates, theyll actually say that they made their intentions clear with ME2, and what they had planned for ME3.

Oh god. Imagine if we only got new squadmates, then the joke is on everybody.

But Bioware seemed perfectly able to shrug off the outrage that they faced when the ME1 LI's got cameo'd, they just have to face a little bit more criticisem.

But I will still say that there's a 40-50% chance that Liara get's another cameo or non-squadmate role.

I thought that announcements related to DLC are always made on Thursdays, and that the release of the DLC itself occurs on Tuesdays?

That would be more like glass-almost-empty.

But sadly, everythings is in the air after ME2 and everything could happen. It's somewhat depressing that the whole forum after ME2 have turned fan groups against each other since it's become a "kill or be killed" situation for which characters to return as squadmates.

Which is why we'll be getting an entirely new squad in ME3.

Except for Tali, naturally.  She'll be back.

I have a feeling all LIs will be brought back as squad mates. The ME1 ones are 'safe' so no worries about them....they'll just have to bring back 6 ME2 characters that might be dead in any given save...I think they will do it.



I could be wrong, but that's my gut feeling now.

While a entirely new squad is not out the realm of possibilty. I think Bioware is smart enough to know that since this is supposed to be the last part of their trilogy, they then gotta have some old squadmembers returning. Liara and VS are perfect choices because
A: They can't die.
B: They can give the illusion of continuation.

A few ME2 will presumebly also return. Odds are it's Tali and Garrus again due to their cult status among fans.

I hate this kill or be killed attitude between the forum members. I love Miranda's and Thane's characters. My love for Liara came later, but is no less real and I resent that I should have to choose a "side" to be on.

It shouldnt have though. Im still hopeful that positive or negative fan reaction on the forums means nothing. I dont think you should be making that kind of decision based on the reaction from the forums. Maybe they can look at player data to see who might be the best bet for returning from the ME2 squad, but on the whole something like Liara and VS being squadmates should be entirely about the plot, and how they would fit into it.

I show some support with a banner, but thats meaningless really. Ive just got to hope the decision Bioware makes is one I can get behind. Weve obviously already had to endure on bad decision, albeit one that might be necessary and worthwhile in the end.

Yes, we do have enough.

But BW loves making new characters, according to CHUD.  Though, it's odd to introduce a large group of new characters at the end of the trilogy...

Just because Tali and Garrus are popular on the forums doesnt mean they deserve a spot. Wrex was popular everywhere, and he didnt and most likely wont make it back as a squadmate.

I personally hope that they bring back 1 or 2 ME2 squadmaes, bring back the VS and Liara, and then add 2 new ones.

If Bioware has been listening to criticism, they should know banter and interaction sucked in ME2, and needs addressing. One way of doing that is quality of squadmates over quantity.

Besides, Id be glad to see most of the ME2 squad cameod because "their stories are complete", "they are boring characters" or "were just flings", or basically any of the reasons people trotted out when the ME1 LIs were announced as cameos for short.

The only thing interesting thing about Thane is his illness so I hope they don't cure him.

Jack and Thane also don't got any motivation to stay if you didn't romance them giving me extra hope that they get cameo'd.
