Anyway, back on track, what's the latest regaqrding Liara, or has there been no additional news?

Not really, Gamble said that once they announce the release date we'll have the DLC ''in our hands soon'.  I bet they'll announce the release date and show off a trailer during Gamescom next week, and going of what Gamble said. it could be released on the 24th.

Sounds good; been wanting to crack knuckles with the SB ... oh, and lets not forget Liara, of course.

Nothing official from BioWare, only hints and speculation.

Some people have been whispering something about "September 20th", but I have no outside corroboration at this point.

Hi folks,

What I can tell you is this....

Once we actually announce the release date, you likely won't have to wait long before you all have it in your hands :)

Something about this makes me wonder if there's only a week or two left.

So. Anybody finishing any forgotten playthroughs in ME2 so you are ready to the Liara DLC?

I probably need to make a new playthrough with my main Liara-romancing Shepard.

I discovered yestoday that my current renegade-femshep and Charlie Shepard playthroughs were incomplete! :pinched:

Speaking of which: I wonder if the Liara dlc will have any moral choice, and which I should take with my Charlie Shepard? Perhaps this would be a good point in the story for his redemption to begin?

I kinda hope they won't pull a "SB escapes or Feron dies" kind of thing. but other than that, can't really think of any morality choices at the moment...

Yeah actually, finally finished my sentinel playthrough and basically have everything in the game pretty much finished bar most of the character conversations and a romance obviously (I ignored pretty much the entire crew bar Samara, Mordin and Legion, and possibly Kasumi if you count listening to her rumours and comments).

I even got round to playing the Hammerhead stuff.  The vehicle itself is crap, much worse than the mako ('cover and shoot' tissue paper armoured missle spammer? Joy!) However, its nice to see big expanses again, even if the ocasional platforming and the ever present "short mission" levels hold things back a bit.

Regardless, I certainly hope the DLC comes good on it all. On the whole, I would say that while I dont think much of the game itself, Ive had far less to complain about in terms of DLC. Its not been flawless, but opposite to the game where Ive found far less to be happy about than disappointed, Ive been pleased with it overall so ideally that bodes well for this DLC with Liara.

figure of speech.  Remember kids, BioWare speak is different from what you and I consider "normal speech." This is not uncommon within a corporate structure. Example: When it comes to Mass Effect the terms DLC and expansion are interchangeable.

Overlord would have been near-perfect if not for the bloody Hammerhead. I just hope that thing isn't included in the DLC.

I like exploring with the Hammerhead, but it's the combat that sucks. If you play on Normal, the Hammerhead isn't bad since it can take more hits. It's also more about dodging while shooting. The problem is, on insanity, the bad guys shoot better, and your shields are paper. Plus no auto save or munaul saving, equals bad news, and bad review.

Yeah, and the homing missles in ME2 are the worst Ive ever experienced in a game. Sometimes it just feels like its almost completely random (apart from enemy missles, they have no trouble it seems).

But yeah, the actual "main area" where you search for the data packages was brilliant. It was everything I liked about UNCs but improved on. Sadly, the vehicle is crap (apart from the joy of skimming across a landscape at high speed) and the world is again cut up into stupid immersion destroying "levels".

The missions themselves were quite good and the plot, with a fairer mix of non-shooting and shooting gameplay (it was, as someone aptly described, almost horror' styled at times), and the ending was excellent.

But this isnt about Liara, so Ill leave it at that.

I will say this, I found myself contemplating the idea of a new vehicle in ME3 based off of Hamerhead feedback and what Liara would say about it while skimming around the main area.

It makes me think about the time I accidentally hit a Pyjak in ME1, heard Liaras angry comment about it being why humans have a violent reputation, and made sure never to hit one again, heh.

x3.
But in response to the original post, I stopped my current play-through when I heard about this dlc so I could go straight into it from the story, my current Shepard has been mulling around on Korlus for a fortnight waiting for news..

Hammerhead feels like I'm controlling a character in Quake or Unreal, not a vehicle.

And even if the landscape is bigger than the core game, they're still corridors.

I agree.

Simply "rescuing" someone, in and of itself, does not make a character a damsel in distress type.

It's how that character is portrayed during the rescuing and afterward.

Liara's repetitive fainting, her awkwardness, her immediate crush on you, and her inexperience with romance all combine to give people a certain - perhaps misguided - impression.

Well...I wonder if these people have a different impression of her after playing ME2?

I believe you liked her better in ME2, correct?

Sorta kinda. I approved of the direction they appeared to be taking her but not the way they implemented it.

As for when my impression of Liara changed, that was pre-ME2. I started talking to Liara fans and I began to see Liara from a different (better) perspective.

It never would've happened if I hadn't joined the BioWare community. So I'd say, yes, most of the normal gamers' impression of Liara only changed after ME2.

But then, they were also probably thinking, "Wow, Liara became more kickass" at the same time they were thinking, "Wow, Liara's become obsessed and refuses to talk to me about our relationship."

:(

You can't win, I guess.

Those people need to come onto the BSN...we will change their minds about Liara.
