I'm not blaming the PS3 port in itself ;)But you're right . Bioware did a good job proving me that my choices didn't really mattered with Me2 .Dinkamus_Littlelog wrote...

By biggest fear is that if ME1 is not released for PS3, it means that some of the decisions from the first game won't have an impact in ME3, unless they make some exclusive content that PS3 owners won't be able to see .
They arent going to have much of an impact anyway, even without a PS3 port being made. They made it clear in ME2 that they were not above sacrificing content to make sure the game is as noob friendly as possible.
They have already said that each game in the "trilogy" is "stand alone" and that the effects of choices only alter the "tone" of the game, so expect more crappy, easily dismissed effects to your choices I would say.

Still, lets hope this DLC is a truly great piece of work, because I need it right now. My faith in Bioware is ziltch, so I have my expectations as open as possible. It could be a great plotline that redeems the turd that is ME2, or it could be a stinking pile of crap that lets me know early not to bother with ME3, as playing a completely different game altogether would be about as relevant to my ME1 playthough as ME3 might be, but probably offering better gameplay to boot.

I've got a theory: Whatever choices you made in ME2, Cerberus will hunt you down (If you gave them the base, TIM thinks he won't need you and that you'll become a liability, if you didn't, well it's kind of obvious why then) Since Cerberus of course have a bunch of hidden gizmos on the Normandy they can track it, approach it without being spotted and disable it without a problem. Once they're in control they kill off the entire crew and team, preferably by lining them up and executing them infront of you (I dare you BW, I double-dare you!) In the last possible moment, Liara (who has found about the attack since she became the new SB) sweeps in with her asari commandos and saves you, with your whole team dead, after patching you up, she understands that you a) Want revengeLizardviking wrote...
I wonder what kind of start ME3 will have? Maybe it involves Shepard and the entire ME2 crew in a shuttle, then the shuttle crashes. Everyone dies execpt Shepard who is mortally wounded, and must be rebuilt.
Thoughts?
This theory of mine involves Liara taking over the role of primary Info Broker in the galaxy and is your new boss, the Virmire survivor has since become a Spectre (possibly) and will have an enormous role, maybe as hunting you in the beginning, since TIM has planted evidence that you are a terrorist etc etc.
If you keep the Normandy, the initial attack wouldn't involve obliterating the crew, but to not have enormous problems with team balance and bringing in possibly unneccessary VA's I think they need to kill off the whole team, besides, imagine this: As your LI from ME2 (if you had one) is about to die, they look you in the eye, says "I love you!" or something else catchy (Jacob: "Is this the priize we pay for being the good guys?" Garrus: "Just like old times huh, Shepard?") before they get shot in the back of the head. Now THAT would set the tone for a darker ME3.
No, I'm not evil, wait... Scratch that, I am

Can I just ask because Ive seen this a number of times, but where the hell do people think Liara has a team of asari commandos?
You do know shes just mimicking Benezia when she threatens the client, and is merely bluffing right (as Benezia did have commandos being a matriarch with many followers)?
I thought one of the main points of Liaras role is how she is isolated from anyone she can trust, and is going after the Shadow Broker on her own.

I always imagined she had a couple of henchmen, but nothing impressive. She even says it her self that she have some "hired muscle" when you first meet her.

She does say however that she has some "hired muscle" and would it be that weird if that would be a small team of asari commandos? Possibly even commandos previously working for Benezia? Some of those who chose not to follow her for example. Besides, how do you know she was bluffing? It was just something for the old ME1 players to recognize and go "Whoa! What's going on with Liara?"

Its the concluding chapter. I dont give a toss about the ME2 squad really (even though I quite like a couple of them), but anything less than a mostly happy ending for all of them given their practically inevitable and necessary cameo roles would be insulting.
Mind you, thats probably where the "effects of your choices" come in. If they are still alive, certain actions you made determine their cameos "tone". Things like having them survive but not loyal, or having them loyal, best outcome for their missions if it offered multiple outcomes, and romanced or not etc.

Yeah, the likeliness that BW would do something like that is highly unlikely anyway. If this would happen I would however sit there with a smirk thinking of what's going through the heads of the more rabid Cerberusfans
Edit: Most likely, some of the ME2 crew will have cameos, or big roles (Tali as admiral among the Quarians, Grunt as Wrex's right hand, Garrus as a Spectre possibly)

I would hate that Cerberus betrays you no matter what in ME3. If only because it would completely undermine my renegade Shepard. It's already bad enough that one of my character's purpose for being created was completely destroyed due to ME2's ****ty way of handlling the SS/Cerberus relationship. So no, I don't Cerberus to betray you. If you give them the base atleast.

This is an interesting idea, but would also require some suspension of belief as it would seem very OOC for many of your companions to just lay down their weapons and take a bullet to the back of the skull. Can you really see Jack surrendering peacefully to anyone, much less Cerberus? If a bunch of Cerberus commandos showed up on the Normandy uninvited, Grunt would likely just see that as Christmas coming early. Many of your companions have made a career of prevailing against overwhelming odds. They might not win in your scenario, but they're not going to go quietly and Cerberus is going to be shipping a lot of its personnel off the Normandy in bodybags.

No, while its true that she mentions hired muscle, I think it would be just another woefully OOC thing for Liara to have asari commandos working for her. Its the kind of "hired muscle" that wouldnt work well for tracking down the SB.
And I know she was bluffing because she was trying to simply intimidate the guy. Its no less unlikely and untruthful as her "flaying unpaying customers alive with her mind". Shes trying to work with what she has. She gets some cred from helping Shepard take down Saren, but still has to borrow lines from her mother because shes not used to intimidating people.
Im pretty sure this DLC will further emphasise the fact that Liara works mostly on her own. I would be extremely shocked, not to mention annoyed by the ridiculousness of it all if she manages to call on the aid of some random asari commandos in this DLC.

Perhaps it becomes available after you complete all the Illium missions? Or just Liara's sidequests? Or after the SM regardless of whether you helped Liara or not.
