My legitimate hopes:

Liara emails Shepard, gives her the quest info. Shepard then travels to Illium to pick up Liara, then they both go planet hopping, destroying SB bases as they go. Liara is with Shepard the entire time, acting as either a temporary squad mate, or similar to what Garrus was during his recruitment mission. There are plenty of opportunities to speak with Liara (similar to Mordin or Jack's loyalty missions) and she does have romance exclusive dialog with Shepard.

After the SB is defeated, Liara briefly spends time with Shepard on the Normandy. If romanced, you get a touching scene, not necessarily a 'love scene' but perhaps a heart-warming hug/kiss deal. Liara still declines the offer to join the crew, though, promising she will return in the future, after she's cleared up some things. Non-romanced Shepards just get a friendly thanks and a hand-shake.

My expectations:

No romance content, barring one or two lines.

That's probably what it'll be like.
Congradualtions on being that...in depth.

I'm thinking somewhere in the middle.
Not alot of interaction.
Some romance specific dialogue.
A Paragon/Renegade choice of how to deal with the SB.
Liara as a temporary squadmate.
That's how I'll think it'll happen anyway.

I just don't want a sex scene in this DLC (at the end even). Why?

1) I fear it might be cheesy, like some of the ME2 ones were. Though, I think Thane and Jack had the best scenes...they were quite emotional. I wouldn't have a problem with a scene similar to theirs, though the focus on each wasn't sex.

2) It just doesn't seem fitting to 'get it on' right after Liara goes through, what will probably be, a very emotional experience for her.



I would still like the romance discussed at the end. Plus, as mentioned, physical intimacy in the form of a hug or kiss (again, similar to the Thane/Jack scenes).

:DDon't know why this makes me laugh .
But non romanced Shepards had a big hug in the main game ! A big heart-warming hug for crying out loud !


I just hope that the possible missions won't be something like the Hammerhead ones, with quick succession and minimal story-telling .

What I liked about the Shepard/Liara scene in Mass Effect was that it wasn't just about sex, it was an emotional mind/body melding beyond our comprehension.

Hmm, I think you ticked off the boxes I expected as well.
The Expactations are a little depressing, but probably true.

Uh huh. You know what, maybe they delayed the DLC to rush in some romantic content after "surprisingly" learning from the thread that many people expect it.

PS. If they didn't realise people expected romantic content after ME2 was released (heck even after ME1 was released - people expected their romances to continue) then they were really out of touch with the fans. :-)

Ugh, I hope for no Hammerhead.  I don't want another Overlord...more story (and Liara)....less flying around in that damn thing.

I'm sure they are paying Ali Hillis quite a few bucks to voice this thing, hopefully they will make the most of that opportunity and provide us with plenty of Liara dialog.

I would take tons of dialogue and outstanding emotional performances from Hillis/Hale/Meer over that any day .

Yeah, though there's nothing wrong with that...I don't think that's Liara.

I just want any love scene to be romantic, dammit!  I want to cry and stuff.   Some emotional stuff, feelings being finally revealed, tender hugs, passionate kisses.  Candlelight!!!  I wonder if they still have those things in the future?  If not, get EDI to dim the light in the Captain's Quarters.
