Good to see you again, Yeled. You've been missed, and your absence keenly felt!

Anyway, my main Shepard is currently standing in front of her personal terminal, located in the captain's quarters, awaiting Liara's email summoning her to Illium in order to meet regarding the Shadow Broker and Liara's hunt. Can't wait!

Sheesh.  I forgot how prolific the Liara fan group is.  You spend all morning at a meeting and you miss half a dozen pages.  Anyway...

Hey, Les, how's it going?  Its good to be back.  I'm glad to see all the Liara fans have continued the high level of discourse I'd come to expect.  And its certainly nice to be back now that we have something positive to talk about.  It could get kind of depressing around here at times.  Maybe I'm a bandwagon jumper, but I couldn't endure the pain.  :(

Like you, my main Shep is sitting in her quarters awaiting Liara's email.  But there's a part of me that wants to reboot, and use my new ME1 Shep as my main shep.  My current main Shep endured a lot through ME2, and I kind of want to start over and play through as a Shep that doesn't have to suffer through so much anguish.

On an unrelated note, I don't recognize the avatar you're using, Les.  What's that from?  I like it.

Hmm, you should have time to complete the entirety of ME1 before LotSB comes out, Yeled. I think I mentioned I will have two Shepards...one who just completed ME2 and is waiting for the email and another who is still in ME1. I will complete ME1 with her, import into ME2 and wait for LotSB in order to experience it with 'full' Liara content. She's also an adept, and I would like to make use of these new buffs to the biotics.

I think most people caught Xen the first time out.  The rachni envoy and Aethyta are a pretty good reach on her part though.

Now I'll have a vision of Claudia Black pinching her nose and making a droopy American accent face whenever I hear Aethyta...thanks IMDB.

Yeah, Xen is quite obvious.  I so hope she voices the Shadow Broker, who is an asari.  Not Liara's father, but just some uber powerful and old asari.  I think she would use her Xen/Morrigan voice for this character :D

Hey Yeled. I'm doing very well, thank you very much! As you can probably imagine, I'm eagerly anticipating and am massively overexcited over the forthcoming DLC, and cannot wait until it is released. We've all been waiting for this for over 7 months, and it's good to have it confirmed at last. The fact that the Liara DLC is also significantly substantial and expansive, with confirmed romance continuation is also deeply encouraging and reassuring. I can't wait! Liara as a temporary squadmate? Romance continuation? 800 points worth of content? This DLC sounds like everything I have been anticipating and dreaming of!

Don't worry, you're not a bandwagon jumper. Over the past few months, it's become increasingly depressed and dejected around here. Were you around when Redemption #4 was released? I'd say that day was the absolute nadir for my fellow Liara fans. The entire thread went into meltdown, and for all the wrong reasons. It's good to have you back, though. Many of the old posters have now left, sadly enough. I'm expecting alot of them to return once the DLC has been released.

Speaking of your Shepards, are you referring to the one that you created in ME1 following ME2's release? The playthrough in which you began to really appreciate the characters of both Ashley and Kaidan? I remember you mentioning something like that.

Oh, my avatar? She's Midna, a character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Thanks for the compliments!

Anyway, I'll reiterate that it's good to have you back! Welcome back, my friend!

Yes, it has been bad.  :crying:

Things are looking up for us Liara fans finally.  They'd better not let us down now!

Hey jlb524, just asking, but did you predict the Morrigan DLC, since you changed avatars close to announcements?

No, that was totally just coincidence.  Funny though.  :)

Be careful.  You don't know where that liquid came from, or if Liara had anything to do with it.

I'm just completely fascinated by Liara's emotional and mental states throughout this entire ME2/Shadow Broker ordeal.

I just like strong emotions, especially from someone who is mature enough to handle them (as I believe Liara is).

While I agree with you on Liara's emotional and mental states being fascinated, I wonder if Liara is really all that mature.  WilliamShatner has a point.  Some of what made Liara so enduring is her bright-eyed way of looking at the world.  Everything was new and interesting to her.  In a certain sense she was very child-like.

There's a part of me that wants Liara's anger to play out in a similar fashion.  Liara's been a bit disillusioned with the world, but I'm not sure she doesn't still view the world through child-like eyes.  In writing Liara's anger, I'd start with the point of view of an angry adolescent who lashes out at the shadow-broker, who in a sense is Liara's personification of everything that is wrong in an otherwise miraculous universe.

Don't remind me. :( A combination of overwhelmingly unrealistically high expectations and, with all due respect, miscommunication on your part regarding the content of #4 resulted in the Liara fanbase going absolutely beserk with anger, frustration, despair, confusion and rage. It was almost the perfect storm. Everything that could have gone wrong conspired to make it appear alot worse than it actually was.

Ah, I see.  I just think this experience has changed Liara and she is no longer the ingenue.   I do know that this is what some find most attractive about her, but I don't think we will be seeing too much of this anymore.  I could be wrong.

I just never saw her as all that child-like in the handling of her emotions...she handled Benezia's death quite well, IMO.  But anger is different, I will admit that, especially coupled with all the other feelings that are weighing on her heart at the moment...guilt is a big one...stress/exhaustion/loneliness are some others.

I do agree that the Shadow Broker is the personification of all that is wrong in the universe (to Liara).  The SB is the one who is practically solely responsible for introducing Liara to the seedy galactic underbelly.

Yeah. During your summary of the comic and it's content, your phrasing erroneously implied that Liara was blase about Shepard's wellbeing and welfare upon handing the corpse over to Cerberus, and did not want them to attempt to revive Shepard as she had moved on and gotten over her, when that was not the case.

The asari are products of the Reapers. In ME3, You will find out asari evolved a lot like humans did. The reapers  secretly gave the asari the ability to collect genetic material mentally and gave them a large sexual appetite so they could collect this material quicker.

You can see the similarities in the asari tentacles and the arms on Harbinger, as both are swooped at the ends.  Sovereign was different. If you can remember, he had arms that looked very similar to a turian's head, and you'd also remember he himself had indoctrinated a turian to do his dirty work.

Asari will either be Collectors 2.0 or will all be indoctrinated by Harbinger, we haven't decided yet.

Get ready, Liara fans, as this is the "secret" we were talking about.

This is some guy pretending to be a Bioware developer.  Let's discuss how silly this would be.

Anyways, I'm still trying to figure out which character I'm going to play the DLC as for the first time. I got 2 Shepards. A Fem-Shep who stayed loyal, and a Male Shep who moved on. My actual feelings on Liara are still on the fence, so I really don't know which I'm going to play as.

Ha ha! Thanks for the laugh York!

Althrough there's been some theory (althrough I don't believe it's likely) that the Asari are an "artifical" race.
