As for the DLC: I hope she doesn't react ****y if you cheated on her. As it will just give those that did it some smug justification. Bioware better make them feel regretfull!

If they indeed adress cheating in ME2, then I think that Liara will blame herself for Shepard's disloyalty. I think this reaction would be most in line for her character at this point.

She'll see their relationship as just one more thing in her life that she's screwed up.

I don't want to go back and read fifty plus pages... but is this DLC going to be a before suicide mission or after suicide mission DLC. I'm so happy my blue love bunny is coming back I could spit!

Bioware are admittedly very inclined to cater to new fans. For this reason; I have to wonder if in LotSB, the player can have a loner Shepard initiate a romance with Liara in addition to there being a continuation of the romance for imported Shepards.

There would be two sides to that, I think. On the one hand, I think it would be interesting, I wasn't all that satisfied with the execution of the Liara romance in ME1, to be honest.

On the other hand, it could come off as being a lessening to Liara's character integrity. I don't agree with this, but I know someone who does think this.

Bioware are obviously treating this DLC as a big deal, so, why not wonder?

But no, it hasn't been confirmed or denied that it takes place after the Suicide Mission. All that's been said so far is that it's part of the DLC bridge between ME2 and 3.

Just a guess but I think if you cheated or chose not to romance her she'll reside in the cargo bay and if you've remained loyal she'll stay in Shepard's cabin when she joins the crew.

Ok... well I have my imported soldier shepard who remained loyal to the blue goddess ready to rock. Maybe I'll play up to Horizon and then stop and wait for the DLC to come out. That way I got the bases covered!

It would quite tragic. And as cruel as it sounds, I hope Shepard's that cheated get to point htat maybe she shouldn't have acted so bloody cold and distant on Illium.

See I thought the ME1 romance was by far superior to the romance scenes of ME2 which from what I've seen were pretty lame and had me wonder if EA or the threat of potential pressure from critics would influence the develpoment of romantic scenarios in subsequent productions avoiding intimacy. I hope that's not the case since a romance scenario with Liara toned down from ME1 would  in my opinion would lessen the character of the Shepard/ Liara romance. I hope BW has the quads to move forward.

The barbie-doll sex scenes sure are lame. But to be honest I couldn't care less if it's just a kiss-then-fade-to-black or a sex scene (as long as they are tasteful like ME1's) because that's not what important for me when it comes to the romances.

It wouldn't be so bad if I had something else to do with my down-time but I don't want to finish my current ME2 until this is out and, well, there's only so much Warcraft a person can play without losing the will to live...

If Shepard has moved on, I hope there's an option for all three to act like mature adults. And if Shepard does act like a jerk, I hope both LI's dump him. The last thing I want is a catfight. I do have some Shepards who romanced both Liara and someone else, and I'd like a chance to clear the air. Or see Shepard get punched in the face. I'm not picky.

I just think the brief ME2 lovescenes cant compare simply because the ME1 scenes were better executed and had better buildup, not because they flashed some (cute) ass and boob silhouettte.

Though I have to say, Mirandas scene was garbage IMO, and I struggle to see any "romance" in it. "Lets dry hump in the engine room"? Seriously?

Regardless, in terms of overall romances, all of Mass Effects have been pretty weak, at least compared to the potential they had. Its just ME1 realised more potential than ME2 did, even if they both fell somewhat short of their maximum.

Agreed. Intimate dialogue , facial expression, body language could depict a level of romance that surpasses what occurred in ME1 however a visual similar to ME1 to accompany would be quite powerful

I thought Liara was a decent enough character and I wouldn't mind her replacing Samara/Morinth as your team's token Asari.

I just hope she doesn't start a cat-fight with Tali... assuming Bioware brings Tali back.

... Honestly, I don't know how much I could enjoy ME3 without the return of Shep's road dogs, Tali and Garrus.

The general consensus on this thread seems to be that the ME2 squad will all be cameoed in ME3. Dinkamus has a rather... opinionated version, but that's beside the point.
 Chances are; we'll get the chance to have (most of) the old crew back in action at some point in Lair Of The Shadow Broker.
