I think it's the lighting combined with her expression. The tears graphic just isn't that subtle.

Well I think it might be the same conversation, where she also cries.
And I also think that this music might play in the Background then:

It's not that surprising though, T.i.M states early in the game that he doesn't trust SB, in his mind, "don't trust" seems to mean "needs to kill". Who would be better to send than his newest prizefighter Shepard?Lizardviking wrote...

Since this is a spoiler forum, I don't mind sharing my excitement here about the trailer for the DLC.
I'm sticking up for Meer. He IS Shepard....is he dead-pan in some parts? Yep, Just like Hale is during some parts. Both are good Shepards.
I also liked Shepard's line: "Cerberus gave me data on where to find him.....interested?" Don't know why, but I enjoyed that revelation.
Really? I facepalmed when I heard it. Once again, Cerberus managed to pull something out of their ass.
Why the hell he says that Liara might be working WITH SB after the events of Redemption though is beyond me.
I find it silly. Mostly because Cerberus seemed to have spend most of their resources assisting Shepard fighting the collectors, and if Retribution is any indication. Then they swiches their focus onto Reaper-study pretty quickly.
Just seemed cheap that Cerberus once again pull something off. Especially since it cheapens Liara's search! <_<
Yeah see, I have to disagree. I find it far from silly. Remember at the beginning of 2, TiM tells Shepard that "Liara was working for the Shadowbroker.." or words to that effect? Well it stands to reason that Cerberus has tracked the SB for quite some time...information is power, and having done-so, once they found a chance to get back at the SB using their favorite tool (Shepard), they seized it. What better way to convince Shepard to take care of the SB then to play his heart strings, or (if no LI there) his close personal (friendship) ties with the person that is so hell-bent on getting revenge?

I speculate here...but I bet the that the music mainly playing in the trailer was the fighting theme we will hear in LotSb...it had similaritys with the awesome score in Overlord.IndigoWolfe wrote...
A question to those who did not watch the trailer on mute; was the music original, or did they reuse some?

Wow, great news: apparently this DLC is "semi" after SM, so actually playing it after the SM has a difference.

Some people have been asking when the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC "takes place" in Mass Effect 2. As in can you play it before the suicide mission or only after.
I went to the font of knowledge (the Mass Effect writers) and asked them. They said:
"Like many of our missions, you can do the Shadowbroker DLC before or after the suicide mission. However, because we understood that most players would be coming to this after the suicide mission, we weighted the
dialog much more heavily toward the assumption that the player had already completed it."
So, you CAN do it before you do the suicide mission, but you'll get a different (and possibly more flavorful) reaction if you play it after.
Hope this makes sense.

Ah well... I had hoped it would only be post-suicide mission. But atleast it's a step in the right direction.

To be honest, its no different this way. Any content we play, whether fully post or only accomodating post SM will have no direct impact on ME3 in terms of being necessary to be played.
Its not like it being solely post SM would give it any more content than it has already.
Im hoping since this info comes from Cerberus that the initial info will be received differently based on if its pre or post SM.
Im pretty sure Overlord was criticised by a lot for the weirdness of "Yo! Sheppy, ma main man, clean up this mess of ours dude...."
Edit: You know, given everything that happens at the end game n all that....

But atleast post-suicide missions would help bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3 (funny enough). Beside, it's time Bioware actuelly gave us a reason to play after credits beside listening to our surviving squadmates viewpoint regarding the base.

But they can do that already. The "bridging DLC" was only ever going to be extra fluff anyway. Honestly, I think the way they are doing it right now is just about as good as fully post SM, because the difference was probably always only going to be in the dialogue.
Now I can play LotSB and look forward to Liara and other characters being able to acknowledge the completion of the suicide mission, which is exactly what I wanted from fully post SM anyway, and all it means is that this way, Bioware wont have to worry about stressing out fans who couldnt be bothered to keep an end game save.

If you blow up the Collector base then TIM basically cuts connection with you, doesnt he? So why would he send you this info post SM?
TIM is smart enough to know that providing some assistance to Shepard is wise, since he's afterall the galaxy's best bet to stop the Reapers. Granted it won't more than a usefull tip if you destroyed the base. So TIM giving a lead on the SB in hopes of him destroying his competitor forever seems like a good enough decision.

No, he doesnt quite do that. Ive never been happy with Shepards kind of "you answer to me now" vibe instead of "heff you, you heffing dirtbag!"
Who knows how Cerberus will pass this along post SM, or if there will even be any difference at all, and well still end up with an immersion breaking "to my best friend Shepard, here is teh shaddow brokker info, from TIM with hugs and kisses"?
If there is a change though, itll be a nice surprise.

Back on topic!
Definite Liara LI and Squadmate (Heh, squad 'mate'. Oh I just punned, that can't be good) in ME3. And I want to meet Liara's 'mother-father'. That's the one thing that has kept me curious since first meeting her when I got ME in '09. Wouldn't it be weird if it was Samara? Seems likely to me. Samara or the Asari Councillor. Tevos, I think her name was.

I really don't think it's Samara. Since she already honestly told us she's got 3 kids, why would lie about a fourth being there?
Beside, it will make things akward for my Shepard!
Also regarding the DLC. What's the (possible) Asari specter take on all this? Whats her angle?
And if she really is another spectre, then i'm glad we're finally able to meet another specter who isn't rouge. Is was also quite lame how specters were swept aside in ME2 maingame.

What? You could get the chance and ask for a threesome like in ME1 :innocent:
"Mother"/Daughter action is every mans dream right? That is a joke.
Anyway, where has people gotten the idea that Samara is Liara's father? Because they're both asari? That's not really conclusive evidence in my neck of the woods.
Regarding the possible spectre, I hope she is one, and a badass council-faithful one at that.
Spectres were really invisible in both ME1 and ME2, one would have thought that Shep would run into at least one of them, or that one of them would actually seek him/her out. Especially in ME2.
Unless... AshKai is a Spectre in ME2! Or maybe not, I wouldn't be surprised to see them have that role in ME3 though.
