Guys, I'm still writing my fanfic, and another Liara-centric chapter is coming up. Basically, Liara gets "captured" by the Shadow Broker, and through sheer will and luck, manages to get a message out to one of her colleagues at work, who then contacts Shepard to tell him that Liara is in danger.

How does that sound?

So yeah, about that whole crime scene deal in the screenshot, Im interested in this. It certainly looks like this DLC really is involving a lot of exciting new locations on Illium.

Im resigned to how I imagine getting there will be handled, but still, it looks good.

Hopefully it is, I would definitely approve of seeing a lot more of Illium.

It said something about "the shadowbrokers ship" on IGN. That may be totally unrelated or wrong for all I know though.

Yup, I heard that too. Youd think operating in the middle of one of the focal points of galactic society wouldnt be easy for someone like the SB. A really cool fortress-ship sounds like a better idea really.

No way to know for sure, but Im placing my bets on the SB not basing himself on Illium, its just much of the hunt takes place there in the DLC. Gonna be fun finding out though. It definitely looks like there will be no shortage of things to do in this DLC.

Sounds okay to me, if you like it, write it. If you don't like it, scrub it. Oh, and good luck with it!

I can only agree, doesn't sound like smart tactics to basically live next door to one of your worst enemies either.
Might even be several smaller compounds to attack. Maybe hunt down some/one of SB's agents on Illium before getting to the real base.

Anywho, it'll be good, of that I'm actually sure now. It will take a lot to disappoint me now.

Oh for sure, I think this DLC looks set to continue the DLC trend so far of offering a better experience than in the core game, and getting better with each release.

The only major area I feel I could be let down by it is in what, if anything, it might say about Liara being a squadmate in ME3.

Im holding on to the fact that because this is content that was originally put forward as an idea for being in the core game that it will not having an impact on Liaras chances of being a squaddie in ME3.

Im still hoping for a "the shadow broker might be gone, but there are still things I need to take care of, but Ill be able to rejoin you in the near future", which basically leaves the door open for a plot sensitive squadmate role in ME3.

Well, personally; I loved her romance, but to each their own. And the emphasis is on the "Loyalty", not the LI.

Actually I doubt that Liara will be a squadmate in ME3, but I've been throwing that out there enough. Let's just say I'd rather work for her than T.I.M.

About Ashley, I hated her guts until I romanced her for RP reasons with one of my Sheps, now I really like her. That romance dialog was really good.

Ashley is in the same boat as Miranda for me. Like the character enough, but not enough to that I would take their romance. Speaking of which. I noticed that I actuelly don't really care about any of the maleshep exlusive romances for various reasons. The only one's I have any real intrest are Liara's, Samara's and Kaidan's.

But to get back to the orignal topic: Well made signature. When can we expect to see a new fanart/sig??

Now, a mere four hundred thirty-two thousand seconds remain until Lair Of The Shadow Broker.

Looking at the trailer, specifically the part where it shows Liara's eyes, it looks like her crest is textured in a much more 'scaley' way than before.

Yeah they did that when they re-imaged the asari for ME2.  Asari appearances are one of the huge differences going from XBox to PC, especially in ME1 with high res textures turned on.

I kind of like it, makes them look more like proper aliens and less like something Cap'n Kirk would be grabbing on.

You know, I don't know if someone had once talked about this before on this forum before, and this is asked to everybody, what were your first impressions of Liara? For me, she seemed like a nice lady, and when having a second post mission conversation with her, I immediately began to love this lovely blue alien woman, and she has become Shepard's loved one in my main playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy.

Super intelligent.  Udina called her a 'Doctor' and I was hooked from there.  I love smart women.

Sweet, naive kid prone to fainting too much. She didn't belong on the mission. I didn't start liking her until years later.

Why and when did you exactly start liking her?

My first impression was that she was cute and precocious to a point that it was hazardous to her health. Then, I saw how smart and powerful she was, and she grew on me. The timidness didn't bother me so much. I thought it was a product of her being young, and yet in dangerous situations other asari 800+ years her elder couldn't even dream of.

Hmm ... I always interpreted the 'faintness' as being an overexaggerated turned-on-and-embarrassed-about-it reaction to brain-scanning Shepard. I know that's reading things into it that probably weren't intended, but for a species that procreates through a mental union, it would make sense that this brain-scanning is somewhere around the equivalent of a hug, which could certainly be blush-inducing in a shy person who is attracted to whom they are hugging.

Besides, it's the only way I can really reconcile the fainting with the tossing geth armatures about with her mind thing. Otherwise, it does not compute.

Speaking of which, am I the only person who caught that Liara seems to have some biotic protective bubble power? No one else has mentioned it that I've seen. It's about 40 seconds into the video.

Just looks like a cutscene-only bubble-shield, to me, one that serves a purely cinematic purpose.

No, she does...she is protecting Shepard and crew from a rocket attack.  I don't know if this is a squad power...it's probably just a cutscene thing.
