Hey, whoa. Everybody, take a step back for a second. The last thing we would want is to have an arguement boiling over.

Now, where were we in regards to the upcoming DLC? Any ideas as to what we are expecting?

Well...I expect it will be awesome!  I know all the spoilers and I'm confident that it will be good from what I've heard.

I am very much looking forward to seeing how Liara's character has developed. Her appearance has matured giving me the impression that she has come into her own as a woman and I'm expecting her personality to match.

Well...we shall see...I always thought she was quite the mature woman before all this, so I don't see this as a change for her, but that she was just thrust into a different situation...one that she has not known how to handle before.

I'd just like to suggest that for the purpose of a Liara support group it is important to keep in mind Liara is monogendered, meaning that anyshep can post here and be on topic.

This is absolutely true. Its not about what Shepards are posting here - Its about turning this thread into a discussion about certain peoples shepards.

There is a maleshep and femshep thread both, so if people feel like making things up or venting your frustrations, they should do it in those threads.

I noticed that most Shepards who romance Liara are female. I had a Fem!Shep who romanced Liara once. However, I'm beginning to get annoyed by the amount of Fem!Shep/Liara pairings and lack of Male!Shep/Liara. Does anyone else feel the same?

(P.S. I have no problem with people pairing their Fem!Shep with Liara. I just wish that there were more Male!Shep/Liara out there.)

What occurred after this post was a justifiable reaction similar to yours and for pretty much the same reason.

Indeed.

Listen, what has occured is that a bunch of regulars from the femshep thread and their own Liara group has trolled this thread and nearly started a femshep/maleshep war.

They should go to the femshep thread and change the rules to allow shep wars if they want to. Dont bring them here. And they shouldnt come here spamming half the page or more with pictures, regardless of whether its Liara or not.

End. Of. Discussion.

There is plenty to discuss ABOUT LIARA, and if that cant be done, there are other threads and groups that can accomodate the stupid attitude certain folks have tried to bring here.

No actually, we were all responding to PseudoEthnic's post about him/her being annoyed with seeing so many FemShep/Liara posters in this thread.  Furthermore, stop trying to look like you are the savior in all of this.  We all know that you were the loudest guy in this thread that use to hate seeing FemShep with Liara.

You should be apologizing.  ;)

Lol, come on, surely you can be a little more discreet about the group trolling. Pic spam and sarcastic group comments? Talking about this thread negatively?

Dont try and play the innocent party, either shut up and leave or get some decent discussion going about Liara that wont end in a flamewar. CM26617s alread tried to do this once with the very easy discussion point about the DLC, for some reason its still got to be carried on.

Since its clearly obvious that you are group trolling and looking to get a rise out of all of this, Ill leave somebody else to start a discussion, or perhaps you lot can do it by way of an apology for spamming and trolling this thread.

Ive already told you, by way of an apology for trolling this thread, why dont you be the one to do it.

You can talk about the DLC, since there is no shortage of information now as its released in two days. Or you can talk about something else, like Liaras role in the rest of the trilogy.

Its really not that difficult. Weve been managing fine here lately.

Well..I don't know about that, but I'll bite.

Plus, I don't see how I've 'trolled this thread', but whatever.

OK....

To start off...I don't think Liara will become the next Shadow Broker.  I really see nothing there that would motivate her to do so.    She wants to take down the Shadow Broker, but that does not mean she wants to assume its role in being the uber-power in galactic information.   I think at the end of the DLC, she will want to sift through all of its data to find what she can to help Shepard out in the upcoming battles against the Reapers, but that's it.  I think this will consume her time post-LotSB and pre-ME3, but that she will be free to join you as a squad mate in ME3 at some point after she is done with this data.  She will be a squad mate and she will bring key info on how to stop the Reapers, similar to what her role was in ME1.

Again. We all said our piece and moved on. You are the one that keeps bringing it up

It's a public thread, anyone is aloud to post, as long as it's about Liara. You are very much to blame for the OTness. People were only defending Femshep because of a troll. It was going fine in here until your little hate fest on femshep. I Don't think anyone has anything to apologize about, but you.

Very good, Im proud of you. A completely valid and more importantly neutral discussion point that doesnt contain any picspam. Good job.

As to your actual point, I also dont think assuming the Shadow Brokers position is in either Liaras interests or abilities. I can see her continuing to sift through information until ME3 to keep her occupied and give her a reason. to rejoin in ME3. I cant see what good information brokering would do in a galaxy facing an onslaught from the reapers though, so hopefully a full return is still planned for ME3.

There. Was that so painful?

OK So how does anyone think Liara comes to terms with choosing between a male or female ?

Dink still hasn't replied to my posts and I was actually talking about Liara's new look. How is that off topic? You keep asking for an apology but I don't hear you apologizing for your past hate, Dink.

She doesnt. Thats the entire point with her. The only thing she has to come to terms with is human attitudes towards male and female via Kaidan or Ashley.

She is attracted to either gender.  Sadly, she can fall for some really ugly Shepards(Male or Female).  You should get locked out of a romance if you have a really unattractive Shepard.  Poor Liara!  xD

Not personally, no. She clearly doesnt (didnt) understand quite how humans deal with it though. She tells the player this outright when they discuss their feelings for one another initially.

Well, I think it's in her abilities, but not her interests.   I don't think she would want to continue on with this career path, as I think she is somewhat disgusted by it (even though she is good at it and holds some pride there).

However, good Info Brokering would do Shepard loads of good, IMO.  It seems thtat the Reapers attempt to overtake the galaxy mostly involves them first taking over information networks.  Even if this is not the case, I think the majority of ME3 will invlove Shepard trying to forge alliances with various galactic factions...the geth, the quarians, the asari, the turians, the krogan etc., and information that Liara may drudge up from the SB's archives may make this task a lot easier.  Thus, how can you say that her info brokering couldn't possilby aid Shepard in the upcoming Reaper attacke?

A male and female...human?  Hmmm...here's my opinion.

Honestly, there is not much difference between a male and female human seen from an asari's view point.  Human females seem quite identical to an asari, but I also feel that male humans are as well (as there really isn't much difference between the two...most of the differences are created by us culturally).

So, I think the asari that are attracted to 'sameness' would go for a human regardless of gender, as the human genders are both very close to their own anatomy.  Asari that prefer something 'different' would go for a hanar or krogan.  So...Liara would have no 'terms' when choosing between a male or female human as I think they would be quite similar in her eyes.

Posting pictures is utterly fine. Repeatedly spamming them in one or multiple posts makes a mess of this thread in terms of reading it and getting discussion going.

Maybe you didnt put any thought into it, but if character threads get locked for being off topic, I dont think its fair that they do while its perfectly acceptable in this thread to just bombard it with pics. I post the occasional pic myself because it gets discussion going. I dont saturate the thread with them.

Firstly, you dont know anything about the SB yet, and neither do any of us. If the SB turned out to be a reaper or super powerful AI, how could Liara take up the duties of controlling an entire galaxies worth of information? She would be dead within a week from exhaustion.

Secondly, information brokering isnt going to be of much help becuase of the simplicity of the problem. Unless Liara has got some key pieces of information in any SB archives that can help defeat the reapers, there isnt much point. The threat is there. Any problems prevent the races from seeing this arent going to be hidden away most likely. I think ME3 needs to deal with big issues now, like indoctrination and the reaper fleet.

Keep Liara a supporting character using her SB connection to give Shepard info is more fabricating another reason for her not to join. We saw how well that went in ME2. Knowledge is important, but not sitting tucked away passing it along. Better she have the knowledge and be with Shepard to apply it in person.

So I would conclude that any Liara fan would appreciate this quality of her's. I mean how could anyone like Liara and not appreciate her monogendered nature.

Most Liara fans do appreciate it about her, but I can see this is moving back to where weve just come from, as opposed to actually discussing Liara herself and her attitudes.

Bringing it back to Liara and not her fans or the Shepards people use, its actually an incredibly minute part of the romance. Barely any of it at all focuses on Shepard and Liaras differences, and I like it that way. Yeah initially its touched upon, but the rest is just exploring the personal connection.

The actual "difficulties" to the romance come from the reaper threat and the mission.

I wonder if there will be the option in the end to somehow "join" the shadow broker and betray Liara...though I probably would never do that. But it would be interesting as an extrem Renegade option.

Maybe the shadow broker will have vital ressources and informations, he could make a powerful ally...so powerful that your renegade shepard would even betray Liara.
