I like to apologize for my last post here. I completely worded that wrong, and derailed your thread. I didn't want to offend the Fem!Shep players either. I love Fem!Shep too! Jennifer Hale is awesome! Anyways, back to Liara:

I don't know about anyone else, but I appreciate that. Thank you!

Yes, I thought it was responsible to acknowledge ownership

Listen, what has occured is that a bunch of regulars from the femshep thread and their own Liara group has trolled this thread and nearly started a femshep/maleshep war.

They should go to the femshep thread and change the rules to allow shep wars if they want to. Dont bring them here. And they shouldnt come here spamming half the page or more with pictures, regardless of whether its Liara or not.

End. Of. Discussion.

There is plenty to discuss ABOUT LIARA, and if that cant be done, there are other threads and groups that can accomodate the stupid attitude certain folks have tried to bring here.

Are you on crack, or something? PseudoEthnic started whining about femShep in the middle of a discussion between players who prefer to play as femShep. That was the troll, not the people who defended their choices. Then you come along and stir up the whole fem vs male Shep thing again, and then report everyone else?  You are a sad, ssad person. Grow up, will you?  You come in here and try to bully everyone into what you want, I see it happen time and time again. Its no wonder nobody cares to discuss anything with you, or even allow you in thier discussion groups.

Yes, there is plenty to discuss about Liara, so why don't you try and steer conversation that way if you think it needs, you might be a bit more successful than starting off attacking everyone currently in the thread.

And for the record, lots of people that used to hang out in this thread are now hanging in private groups because of you, and people like you. Just saying, in case you haven't figured that out by now.

Bull crap.  They dish it out,but can't take it.  It is easy to ignore someone if you want to on a forum.  You never have to resort to going somewhere else.

P.S.  I agree many people here take their ideas to seriously, but having said that if everyones opinion was the same what would there be to discuss.

Uh, what are you talking about? Might want to be a little more clear on what ever you are refering to when attempting  to flame someone...  You, sir, have no idea whats going on here.  There have been some rather off-topic and downright poor taste posts made by a couple of the more colorful people that hang out in here. And one person in particular loves to stir up the fem vs male Shep war, due to, I believe, some twisted homophobia regarding femShep and a relationship with Liara. Pics of Liara and related discussion were posted, which is not off-topic.  A post was then made by PseudoEthnic that appeared to be an attack on femShep players, in which said femShep players commented on in return. Then the king of all negativity jumps in and immediatly starts flaming, stiring up the fem vs male Shep thing, and sending hate filled PMs to people and then blocking them so thay can't respond.

Now, explain what "Bullcrap" is supposed to mean, please.

I know exactly whats going on here.  Many moons ago some of the former forum goers used to spend all there time talking about Liara half the time and the other half lecturing on the virtues of femshep.  Fights ensued and they left to form their own private group.  Not many of them have been here since until recently.

Just becaues I don't post much doesn't mean I can't read.

Who cares about the PM's.  I have recieved them from people too.  Know what I do.  The same as these guys did.  I block them.
King of negativity has a right to post regardless of negativity.  Like I said, just ignore if you don't agree.  As long as the person is on topic, who cares.  There are lots of people that come on here and spout their political or social views.  Again, as long as it is on topic I don't care.

Many of the offended people seem to be offended at the fact that they also get reported for rule breaking(a certain picture drawing person).  Sorry, nudity is not allowed.  I could go on to prove I know what I am talking about, but I am not on topic and will stop.

Something Tali related is coming out?!

j/k

It'll be interesting to see what direction SB takes Liara's character... and if it'll drop any hints about whether or not she'll be returning in ME3.

I just want the DLC to end with Liara saying "Don't worry Shepard, I'll just have to tie up a few loose ends. But I'll be back with you in ME3!:kissing:;)"

"EDIT" To be frank. WIth all the pre-views, the only thing that I'll worry about is Mark Meer's preformance. But the trailer indicates a okay preformance.

Wha? You mean verbatim? :lol::lol:[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/lol.png[/smilie]

Talk about breaking the fourth wall! That would be hilarious though and I fully suport it happening. :D

Of course she wouldn't say ME3! :pinched:

But speaking of breaking the fourth wall. I wouldn't mind Liara taking a stab at both the Mako and Hammerhead, commenting Shepard's poor taste of cars (or something to that effect).

Mark Meer?

Voice actor for the male commander Shepard. He has a good preformance in ME2 maingame, but he seems to be picking up a bad habbit for phoning in his dialog in the DLC so far.

Ah, I see. I guess I'm just happy they're using the same voice actor. Sometimes a voice actor change-up can literally kill a character for me. Kos-mos from Xenosaga, for example.

I don't think Bioware would ever do that. Switching Meer or Hale out.

... Well, in some instances I think a VA change would be better than retiring a returning character. Bad voice acting can really pull a game down though.

Personally, I think VA has hindered gaming almost as much as its helped it. It often creates a more immersible and cinematic experience... but it also results in less dialogue options in RPGs, and inconsistent dialogue options (when a game is fully voice acted but developer's don't have the time or resources to schedule additional VA recordings). And then, of course, there are games where the voice acting is so terrible it ruins the experience.

Anyway, to stay on topic, based on the trailer I saw I think Meer'll do fine.

We're fast approaching Zero Hour, people. Excited? Terrified? Maybe a little of both?
I was loving the dialogue options we saw in the trailer. It really shows that BioWare listened and allowed romance to really help shape the plot of this piece. Plus the whole, "Liara's in there!" diving to save her, or jumping off together off a ledge number, with Shepard holding Liara close to cushion her from the fall, these things were amazing. Already, Lair of the Shadow Broker is, at the very least, twice as good as I'd ever hoped for. BioWare, by doing this and bringing my favorite video game character back, you have earned your place in my heart for all time. Mass Effect 2 has replaced ME1 as best game ever. ME1 still retains second place...
*Cough* Oblivion does come in third, though.Posted Image

You know what I hope for this DLC? My one big hope?

I want the Liara I saw in ME1 to come back. That Liara was awesome. Now, seeing how she has changed in ME2, I'm not saying that I am against character development, but I do hope that this DLC fully explains why she does what she does now.

I don't know about that. Seems more like he's grabbing her and throwing themselves out of a building that's going to explode.

I can't wait for tomorrow! When I wake up tomorrow, after brushing my teeth, getting dressed, and eating breakfast, I'm gonna download Lair of the Shadow Broker, then play a little bit of it before going into work, and when my day at work is done, more DLC gameplay!

I don't care about the exact release time. I have stuff to do in the morning anyways... Like learning about organizational behavior and how studying it is important to business! And going to the university career center...

You guys notice how teary-eyed Liara gets in the trailer? I am hoping for a lot of emotion on this one.

About character development: the problem is that her motivations in ME2 really don't make any sense if you think about them for 10 seconds.

She's either attempting to avenge her lover (or obsession) Shepard, even though Shepard is standing in her office. Or she's attempting to avenge someone she barely knew and barely liked (from the comics it's pretty clear she only cares about Feron inasmuch as he can help her get to Shepard). Both possibilities are incredibly weak motivations for a 2 year ruthless vendetta (especially given her characterization in ME1).

What I'd hope comes out of this is Liara sitting back on the Normandy going through data. She doesn't have to be a squad member on the suicide mission - she can just be on the ship.

I have a feeling they'll make her the "new" shadow broker, but I think that's weak. An interesting possibility would be for Shepard and Liara to start their own organization as an anti-cerberus. The Shadow Broker info center can be your base, Feron can be your info source. If your crew survives the suicide mission you've already got a bunch of loyal and powerful staff members. Would also be a way to include all the ME2 characters in Shepard's story without making them squad members.

I would really hope Liara becomes a squad member in ME3, as I don't see her leaving Shepard's side if he/she is out saving the galaxy.

I think it's much more than that, but they haven't revealed it as it would spoil LotSB for us.  :D

One of the reviews does hint at this.

Yes, I don't see Liara becoming The Next Shadow Broker but her own info network may rise to become very powerful in the wake of the SB's empire falling.

Even if she cannot join right away, as she may have to sift through the SB's data and deal with dismantling this empire first, this doesn't mean she won't be able to join Shepard when this is all over.
