Support Liara T'Soni for ME3 - Squadmate and LI

It's SUPPOSED to seem abrupt.
The game already suffers some for how easily Shepard and the rest of the galaxy re-adapts to the fact he's been DEAD for TWO YEARS and is now back. Two years of anger and stress changing her into a more jaded person is in no way abrupt. It's only abrupt if ME2 takes place a couple of weeks after ME1; and thats not the case.
I can understand the idea that some don't LIKE how Liara has changed, I miss the naive young scientist too (though I still like her now), but to call her change abrupt is just factually wrong. To say it SEEMS abrupt just means you've gotten in-character; because to you Shepard is is pretty much a week or so ago, and it's supposed to mess with your head.
It's not a problem with Liara's character; it's a problem in that the game never really hits you hard enough with the 'things are not as you remember them, and people have moved on' bat. I blame a lot of the emails.

This is it, the day has finally come. The be all end all for Liara fans. Whether you play Female or Male Shepard or both, whether you stayed undyingly loyal or not, it doesn't matter. I haven't played it yet, and I'm already excited and happy. But I refuse to have it any other way, even if this DLC is not what I want to to be, being happy is a good thing. In fact, whether you like me or you don't, it doesn't matter to me, I'm happy for each and every one of you. We will have our questions answered, in the immortal words of Miss T'soni; "For better or for worse."
Right now, Lair Of The Shadow Broker is downloading. It's weighing in at a hefty one and a half gigabytes. To put that in perspective, the first Mass Effect was only five hundred megabytes. Overlord was only eight hundred megabytes.
So this is going to be big.
I'll say again, this is it, Liara Fans of all stripes and colors, good luck and I'll be seeing you on the other side.

Abrupt is code for "not pulled off well".
The way they wrote her acting is such that some Liara fans have suggested to me that she may have been on drugs.
There is a way to do a character change without making us think they're on drugs.
Hope the DLC fleshes out Liara's change more.

Is there any squad mate dialog/banter? Like if I bring Thane or whomever, does he ever have anything new to say?Dave of Canada wrote...
Having just beaten the Liara DLC (non-romanced character) I felt a lot more attached to the "new" Liara character and was rather saddened by everything in the end. I liked the DLC even if I suffered through a lot of bugs.

I wont say much more since other people havent played yet obviously, and instead leave it at this:

Ill just say its an interesting mixture of excitement and elation at the quality of the DLC, mixed with sadness and dissappointment. Its an ending thats been long predicted, and the ramifications of that ending are made pretty clear. Unless Bioware are going to be throwing a curveball, I think its a pretty clear statement of what to expect in the future, and it wasnt what I wanted.

Is it worth the buy? Did Bioware redeem Liara? No spoilers please.

Well.. Tali said "Keelah" once and the Shadow Broker was like "SUP THANE MY HOMEDIGGYDAWG" when I brought him with me.

Did BioWare redeem Liara. Well kinda of. They redeem her character as much as they could given the assassination job they did previously. The DLC is very much a salvage job. But the point is there shouldn't be any salvaging needed.
The DLC is 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Liara banter is priceless. Better than anyone else.
ARRRGGHH. This just makes me more mad BioWare not making this game properly and having Liara in the full game as a companion.

Pretty much what I expected. Given this and Dink's comment things look like I don't really need to bother picking up the dlc. Oh well, I don't even have ME2 installed anymore, guess I'm not missing anything by not getting this. I'll just continue living in a happy little world where the series ended with ME1.

I think you should give it a try. As I said I enjoyed this way more than the core game. Nearly all the problems stem from ME2 and whoever the idiot was that said, "Let's make this game about some stupid suicide mission that barely connects it to ME1, kill Shepard, get rid of her companions and not progess anything, while utterly ****ing up Liara, Ashley and Kaidan."
If ME2 had been similar this and the Shadow Broker was tied into the reapers, it would have been bloody awesome.
It ME2 stood on the shoulder of a giant and fell off, this is standing on the shoulders of a midget and doing a good job keeping balance.

Probably not.
If she is her father that's quite hackneyed for obvious reasons, which I won't spoil.

I had a bit of a "blue screen of death" moment when I discovered that. Truly, this is the Mass Effect team's most epic work! Liara used to be my second favourite woman in the ME universe, with Tali being number one. Now, if Liara hasn't become my new number one, then she's definitely sharing the position with Tali!

Again a rather disappointing turn of events. Did they at least kill Feron off?

No but you get to electrocute him a couple of times by asking him questions.
