TL;DR Extreme fanboyism of Bioware, alot of mumbles about how annoyed I get when people think that Bioware will disapoint them, Praise of the DLC and Bioware like it's my religion, etc.

Best DLC ever in the existence of Mankind...I feel bad for Ashley/Kaidan lovers for not getting anything near what Lair of the Shadow Broker was.

It was basically everything I hoped for when I heard there was Liara DLC and I'm glad Bioware made this a DLC and not original game content. Think about it, it would have been short, crappy and probally highly disapointing. It was obviously made to be in the original game but it was being developed after Mass Effect 2, so I think Bioware cut it out of the game to improve it a whole load later on.

Besides just being with Liara again, it was also fun to play for the Spectre vs Spectre fight: She was as tough as Saren, funny since I had Garrus and Liara for the final mission in Mass Effect 1 and had Liara and Garrus fighting that Asari it gave me nostaligic memories.)

The car driving mechanic was awesome and really fun.

The wit was hilarious and it made me think Liara and Shepard are married already with that hilarious couple arguing. I know someone did quotes up above but I'm showing my favourites regardless.

"Yeah Liara, I'm fine thanks for asking."

"Does this thing have any weapons?!"
"It's a Taxi, Shepard! It has a FARE meter" *sarcastic tone*

"She's deploying Mines, Shepard!"
"Yeah Liara, I CAN SEE THAT!"

"WATCH OUT FOR THE TRUCK!"

"It may take awhile to hack the system."
"Don't you miss the good ol' days when you could just slap Omni-Gel on everything?"

That's all I can remember but alot of lines was hilarious.

And of course the romance parts:

Hugging Liara when she crys.

Hugging Liara again.

"Wait, you don't want to come with me to the Normandy but you want to stay here with Feron? I smell something going on here!"

"Commander Shepard, are you jealous? Perhaps I could clear things up for you later on."

Then the whole romance scene at the end was brilliant.

As expected Bioware delivered to their fans as always. (I doubt there'll be a Kaidan/Ashley DLC unfortunally, mainly because they don't have much to do with the plot. Liara DLC was important to the plot. They'll probally as always cover things up well in Mass Effect 3.)

Oh and most of the ideas people on this thread and the Liara groups seemed to come alive.

I remember back a few months ago we were debating the end of Mass Effect 3 with Liara. A few of us was hoping for a discussion with Liara about the romance's future that won't be in the game but will be apart of the Epilogue. (Sort of like the Ending of Dragon Age where you talk to your romance about their future.)

I recall one of us making a wishful prediction about Shepard and Liara talking about children and Marriage. And what do you know? That discussion was IN THE DLC!!!!

Honestly, I'm a huge fan of Bioware and I can't stand it when people critize the company as if it's the worst gaming company ever that tries to rip people off.

Alot of them was on this thread/group and I remember back then I argued alot with them about how they should have faith in Bioware. They've never disapointed, ever and they never will.

To those people (Most of those people probally only played Mass Effect though, I highly doubt they've played other games to see what an amazing company this is, if they did they would be like me.) because I always spectulated and defended Bioware like the loyal fanboy I am and knew the Liara romance will turn out epic while you people was expecting Bioware to rip us off. As a loyal fan I leave you with this:

I hope, separately hope that she's back in ME3 as a full-on squadmate or at least someone you can visit. If she becomes little more than an email (which I'm worried she will be), I will not buy ME3. Period. LotSB was perfect, I would prefer to not play ME3 than play something that will taint the memories of ME1 and 2.

Yes, Mass Effect 2 is now the greatest game in existance. Thank you, Bioware. TES IV has been my favorite for 4 years, but LofSB tips it over the edge. ME2 is now perfect.

Though this has implications. If she doesn't come back as the DLC foreshadows she won't, then we will be getting an entirely new team in ME3. There is no question now. Without a choice to save or not save Liara, the survival of the other squadmembers depends on their decisions about Liara when it comes to the development in ME 3.

Read the last three paragraphs on my above post...I remember you from a few months back but I'm not sure if you was a critic of Bioware.

She'll probally have a great role in the story, but I doubt she'll be a squadmember (Squadmembers don't do much anyway besides have a line or two during conversations. Once you've talked all there is to talk about interaction with that character is gone until the next game.)

So we're in the advantage by her being the new Shadow Broker. And she's happy being the Shadow Broker. It's a win/win. Take it from someone who knows Bioware, YOUR NOT GONNA BE DISAPOINTED. Put your faith on it.

/fanboyism.

No, I wasn't a critic. I've been saying since the beginning that I adored ME2; only the unfinished romances from ME1 and the issues with the Virmire survivor have prevented it from being perfect. Since I only really cared about the Liara issues, LotSB solved it. What I basically meant was that if Liara is relegated to an email character, then all the characters will be. I don't care if she can't be a squadmate, but dumping her, and consequently the rest of the previous squads, would destroy my interest in ME3.

They made the damn romance too good now. There's no escaping, Bioware.

In other news, I wonder if the very last line of Shepard's post-romance scene is foreshadowing. It really stuck out. The lenght of the pause BW inserted and the general feel of the carmera angles seems to foreshow the return of Liara in ME3. However, that's just my pretty unprofessional opinion based on movies and TV shows and how they use meaningful pauses and camera angles to give foreshadowing.

The car chase is probably the best sequence banter-wise.

Oh yes, exactly how it should have been.

YES! The end scene was my favorite scene in all of the DLC. In all of ME2. Heck, in all of ME.

"Marrige, old age and lots of little blue children." Completely unexpected, heartwarming and priceless.

I can't agree with you more. I never lost my faith in Bioware. I never believed they would screw us over. I had faith. And they delivered.

This is almost exactly what we asked for, I don't think we could ask for more.

You know, I thought I couldn't wait for ME3 after that shot of the Reapers waking up and heading towards the galaxy.

But now that's changed, I find myself crazily anticipating ME3 even more because of four words;

"Come back soon, Liara."

Hmm...Actually come to think of it most of the critics was usually never in the Liara group, you know the original one. They were instead just complaining on this thread without being apart of the group but we have got a critic or two in the group. It's all coming back to me now, I haven't been on this site for awhile and if my memory is correct you created the group too. Wow, my memory is so terrible I can't remember back a few months. I need some serious brain training...:(

A few notes I'd like to share;

Overall, Jennifer Hale will probably always deliver an overall superiour performance than Mark Meer. However, in this DLC, Mark Meer delivers hands down his best sustained performance yet.

Another being, Liara's dress onboard the Normandy was gorgeous. That's the first time we've seen her bare neck in a casual circumstance. It's lovely, I wanted my Shepard to nuzzle it. And they let us! Posted Image

And I'm glad that they cut away completely with the love scene. I don't really have faith in ME2's shown love scenes.

And this DLC is defenitely the richest in unique animations, models and little details that make your game come alive.

I enjoyed this DLC the most out of everything in ME2.

Yeah, I did create the Liara group. I'd say your memory isn't too bad ^_^ We had a couple people who were critical. I wasn't critical, but I wasn't that optimistic. I'm a pessimist about everything, though.

I think in their head they already have those things.

Anyhow, I'm logging off, it's late over here and I'm tired. I'll probally try and get back to regularly visiting this thread.

Oh, and my memory is selective, Alpha. I remember names and faces always but I never remember why I remember them unless I've talked to them alot in my life or there family/friends. If I talked to them once and it was two months later and I see them on the street. I'll know the face and if I find out his/her name, I'll remember the name but I'll probally have to ask why I remember them. Yeah, my reunions with old friends and notable "okay" people are very awkard. Hell, I never hold grudges either, unless it was serious and downright malocious why I hate them. If it was a stupid reason I'll forget in a few weeks.

Nighty, night. -_-

I played Lair of the Shadow Broker, and I gotta say, that is THE best DLC I have ever played on! And I was very happy to reconnect with Liara at the end of it. And with Shepard mentioning a couple things like marriage and children, you can't beat that.

I have to say... I'm kind of torn at the moment. I thought this was by far the best piece of gaming Bioware has done to date. Graphics, gameplay, a few hiccups in dialogue, but overall, superior.

I got my blue love bunny back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now... what concerns me th emost is how they will protray her character in ME3... and this is what makes me hesitate in purchasing it right away or pre-ordering. She can remain as the new Shadow Broker, because honestly... after playing the LOTSB... the role fits her perfectly. She has matured so much since ME1 and now we know why. The torment she went through was laid out for all to see in this DLC and it was wrenching. Had me reaching for the heart pills a couple times! lol! Ultimately though... her love for Shep overcame that, hence the ending.

What I DON'T want to see... and please take heed Bioware because with LOTSB you have restored my faith in you almost completely. DON'T let her become just an email or mission giver in ME3. If she is not a squaddie... then at least allow Shepard to return to her location (preferably her apartment which is much nicer) whenever he chooses. Please allow them to interact, I.E. talk, make love, what have you. Heck... he could even be visiting their children too since this was brought up in the DLC as one of his desires. If she is not a squaddie then make her a vital NPC in ME3. Someone Shepard turns to very often because of what they share together. And if possible, it might be epic to have her join him for the final battle.

I am going to be cautiously very optimistic for ME3 now... but if you regulate Liara to a nobody character I'm afraid I will not purchase the game. With the LOTSB you have created an epic romance... one for the ages... something I would have like to have seen with Revan and Bastila. You did it with this DLC... and you are no longer able to just shove her into a hole and push her aside. Liara is as intregal to the story now as Shepard considering what she said about the Protheans after the SB battle. Do it right Bioware. Do it right and make thousands of us love you guys!!

Just my two cents.

Now I'm going to go play it pre-SM!!

That's pretty much my opinion summed up as a whole.

I loved that they actually appeared to reference this thread with the romance scene. Some of those quotes were really close to what has been said here before. Even if it's not a reference, the romance dialog worked incredibly well.

Really? They took feedback from us? That is a first.

I'm not positive, but some of the lines seemed remarkably familiar...

Could just be chance.
