A few notes I'd like to share;
Overall, Jennifer Hale will probably always deliver an overall superiour performance than Mark Meer. However, in this DLC, Mark Meer delivers hands down his best sustained performance yet.
Another being, Liara's dress onboard the Normandy was gorgeous. That's the first time we've seen her bare neck in a casual circumstance. It's lovely, I wanted my Shepard to nuzzle it. And they let us!
And I'm glad that they cut away completely with the love scene. I don't really have faith in ME2's shown love scenes.
And this DLC is defenitely the richest in unique animations, models and little details that make your game come alive.
I enjoyed this DLC the most out of everything in ME2.
I played both, and I actually prefer Meer this time (then again, maybe it's because I'm a guy, thus I relation to it more).
And her dress was so beautiful. She's like a princess, or a queen.

That said, seems most folks enjoy the rest of it. Unfortunately I had uninstalled ME2 months ago and my saves with it. I really don't think I can stomach playing through ME2 again just to see the DLC. We'll see.
As excited as you all are now, you do realize of course this means she won't be a squad member in ME3, right? "I's is teh Shadowz Brokerz" is about the absolute worst way they could have taken the character.

Speculation wise: I think Tazzik might be in ME3, and will try to kill Liara. After failing with getting Shepard's body, Tazzik has been on the run from the Shadow Broker. Now that the Shadow Broker is dead, I think he'll try to attack the Broker's Ship in order to get revenge on Liara.

Alright, think I've read enough to almost want to try it out. The whole "I's is teh Shadowz Brokerz" is pretty lame, though we called it months ago. Was lame then too.

Anything can happen. For all we know, ME3 begins with her ship of operations getting destroyed, making her not the Shadow Broker anymore. Thus, she'll become a squad mate.

Who says she has to be a squad member in ME3? As long as she remains interactive and written, I don't think many here will care. But I do agree, cutting her off as a squadmate does entail that she might turn into a laconic mission giver communicating only via email.
I hope she is a squadie, but if she's not, BioWare better still write a lot of dialogue for her.

She's doing it to help Shepard take down the Reapers. So if she gets "data" in Me3 that "helps" him (as this is DLC , it doesn't really matter in ME3), she could join up.

Meh, think I'll just watch it on youtube, save myself 10 bucks....
I know you're skeptical, but I was extremely skeptical as well. If the "Liara as the SB" thing doesn't matter, then it's an excellent buy, and it does a great deal to redeem the faults of the ME2 writing for Liara.
I was glancing at the interview by Christina and saw this "Did I say Liara was as much work as other squad members? She actually ended up being much more because of Stasis!" Wouldn't it be strange to go through all the trouble of getting a single squad power to work for a temporary squadmate that is on one mission? "We also wanted to give Liara different biotic powers than other biotic
henchmen. We ended up giving her stasis and singularity, two powers that
no other biotic henchman has."Unless they are planning to throw another new boitic in ME3 with it as a power, then it doesn't add up.

I concur. Actually... once you have played it two or three times... Liara becoming the new SB... which I was vehemently opposed too btw... the role fits her personality now. You find out so much about why she acts as she does in ME2. (Granted the writing sucked intially and they skewered her character without giving us reaosns why) The emotion in her voice as she tells you that she has mourned you for two years... man that about made me want to cry! Then her expressions and what she says in the ending in your cabin... priceless. You really see how far she has come and matured and how much she loves Shepard.
Having her in my corner as the new SB... as long as Bioware does it right(see previous post) man... that is a match made in heaven.

Yeah, I thought it would be Liara turning into the old SB and being an evil force. However, she is instead made into a force for good. And the dialog and VAing that went into the decision... it's good, to say the least.

The only thing I can hope for is that she still will have a substantial role in Mass Effect 3. Something tells me she won't be a squadmate but I wouldn't count out going on missions with her in ME3. But what do I know? Look at how many people doubted the very things that happened in this DLC?
Thank you, Bioware! Oh and if anyone wants to thank them elsewhere, you can go here.

It was awesome. The dialogue was funny and awesome. The jealous dialogue lines were awesome. Liara's responses were awesome. Jennifer Hale's performance was superb. I am completely and utterly satisfied.
Oh and FINALLY SOMEONE ASKED HOW OUR SHEPARD WAS FEELING! Oh my god! I cannot believe it! Liara actually asked how Shepard was "really feeling"!
Thumbs up, kudos and thanks Bioware for stroking and enlarging our egos!

I agree with everything here. I think the fact we finally had someone show they care about how Shepard feels for once was kind of shocking to me. But it also shows how well Liara knows Shepard compared to everyone else. She can tell the difference between Shepard the soldier/Spectre and Shepard the human being.
I can say this DLC has restored my faith in Bioware's writing and handling of characters. The interactions between Liara and Shepard and the ending romance scenes were far better than anything they've done before. I'm looking forward to see where they take Liara's character and the relationship from here.

I think it's great they finally let me tell just to be friends. Although, I did kiss her after the end boss and almost made wish I didn't "cheat", but I like Jack better. However, I did play the Normandy romance scene too and it was far better than any romance scene in ME1.

A lot of what I found after the mission was "unexpected". But very interesting... very interesting indeed...

This DLC was utterly awesome, for many different reasons, primarily of course because my Shepard finally got Liara back. This DLC has become the glaze of polish that makes the game feel... complete? I now feel that I could comfortably close my main Shepard, in the cabin, and not need to pick them up again until ME3. It feels like a good 'closing' point.
Other reasons this is my favorite DLC ever are the terminals; finding out more about other characters was facinating. Miranda's medical note was paticularly intresting, and might explain more of her bitter side. Thats for the Miranda thread though.
The banter in this DLC really made Shepard seem more human than s/he has so far, and it was great to Liara so matured. She's still very much Liara, she's just 'grown up'. In my opinion she now feels like the elder in the relationship, and it adds an interesting atmosphere.
I also like that she is now seperate as far as the missions go. In my view the romances suffer because the partner is always the 'underling' of Shepard. S/he always calls the shots, and it shows in how the relationships progress and feel. Now, with Liara, it's a relationship between people of equal standing. Shepard is Commander of her ship, Liara a powerful information broker. That final scene relected that I think.
Two side points though. I don't trust Feron. I might even go so far as to wonder if HE is infact the Shadow Broker, and the other guy was just a front. Also; man, Shepard really does feel like a rookie Spectre in 'that' fight. One on one I don't think the fight would have gone so well. Rather a solomn moment to realise that Shepard is not infact the biggest dog in the galaxy as far as combat skills go; just a skilled fighter in a extrodinary situation. Of course, this is from the point of view of a Soldier who has never had a boss throw shockwaves at him and slam into him with charge.
