I did, Shepard says something like "Even if we win we won't live to see the parade." to which Liara says "Then what's the point of any of this?". I was hoping Shepard's line would be a bit more joking, if I'm honest, I'm going to redo the conversation later (it was already 6am by the time I finished, I couldn't stay up any longer to try again).HomicidialFrog wrote...
Speaking of which, did anyone have the heart to make an alternate playthrough to see what the "Dead, probally" ending said? I certainly didn't
I don't even have the courage to watch it on Youtube.
You know, if there's a sad ending in Mass Effect 3 I'll totally do it. I'm a fan of incredibly sad endings for some reason.
This makes me sound like a horrible person, I know but I just like sad endings. I'm not a depressing person, I'm very optimistic and cheerful in person. Yet I really enjoy Shakespear style romances (They die tragically.) as much as I enjoy really sweet happy endings.
If Bioware makes Shepard or/and Liara killable I'll a non-canon playthrough just for the drama.
If this is available (Warning: I may ruin your otherwise hopefully very pleasant day if you read the following.) I'd make a second playthrough just to see either Liara or Shepard die when romanced with each other.
Like some final battle happens and a choice I made in the game caused Liara to die. Shepard does a really sad "Liara?! LIARA! No?...NO...NO!" and runs over and begins actually crying for the first time.
When the battles over theres a really sad epilogue where Shepard is at her memorial/funeral and it skips to his apartment which more sadness occurs and he pulls a gun pointing to his head. And there's a final choice.
Option 1: Die.
Option 2: Live
If you 1 he/she pulls the trigger with tears after saying "I'll be with you soon Liara..."
If you chose the other option. He/she says "No, she wouldn't of wanted this..." . Another two options occur where Shepard can either move on and find another love or just live in chaste for the rest of his/her life.
Same goes for Liara. With different lines.
You can chose if Liara commits suicide, moves on but never finds love again or tries to move on but still never forgets Shepard.
I know some of you will disagree but I love dramatic, sad endings. They sometimes have a more satisfying feel than happy ones. (Shakespeare plays would suck if they had happy endings. And Shakespeare was evil, he liked making people cry.)
Oh, and if Liara AND Shepard die there's an equally touching ending. Double Grave with a picture of them together and sad music.
Of course there's still the happy ending with "old age, marriage, little blue children running around" Which will be my canon Playthrough.
Edit: This idea could go for ALL romances.
