Speaking of which, did anyone have the heart to make an alternate playthrough to see what the "Dead, probally" ending said? I certainly didn't :crying:

I don't even have the courage to watch it on Youtube. :crying:

I did, Shepard says something like "Even if we win we won't live to see the parade." to which Liara says "Then what's the point of any of this?". I was hoping Shepard's line would be a bit more joking, if I'm honest, I'm going to redo the conversation later (it was already 6am by the time I finished, I couldn't stay up any longer to try again).

You know, if there's a sad ending in Mass Effect 3 I'll totally do it. I'm a fan of incredibly sad endings for some reason.

This makes me sound like a horrible person, I know but I just like sad endings. I'm not a depressing person, I'm very optimistic and cheerful in person. Yet I really enjoy Shakespear style romances (They die tragically.) as much as I enjoy really sweet happy endings.

If Bioware makes Shepard or/and Liara killable I'll a non-canon playthrough just for the drama.

If this is available (Warning: I may ruin your otherwise hopefully very pleasant day if you read the following.) I'd make a second playthrough just to see either Liara or Shepard die when romanced with each other.

Like some final battle happens and a choice I made in the game caused Liara to die. Shepard does a really sad "Liara?! LIARA! No?...NO...NO!" and runs over and begins actually crying for the first time.

When the battles over theres a really sad epilogue where Shepard is at her memorial/funeral and it skips to his apartment which more sadness occurs and he pulls a gun pointing to his head. And there's a final choice.

Option 1: Die.

Option 2: Live

If you 1 he/she pulls the trigger with tears after saying "I'll be with you soon Liara..." :crying:

If you chose the other option. He/she says "No, she wouldn't of wanted this..." . Another two options occur where Shepard can either move on and find another love or just live in chaste for the rest of his/her life.

Same goes for Liara. With different lines.

You can chose if Liara commits suicide, moves on but never finds love again or tries to move on but still never forgets Shepard.

I know some of you will disagree but I love dramatic, sad endings. They sometimes have a more satisfying feel than happy ones. (Shakespeare plays would suck if they had happy endings. And Shakespeare was evil, he liked making people cry.)

Oh, and if Liara AND Shepard die there's an equally touching ending. Double Grave with a picture of them together and sad music.

Of course there's still the happy ending with "old age, marriage, little blue children running around" Which will be my canon Playthrough. :D

Edit: This idea could go for ALL romances.

A question. The vids you see in the base, have they actual dialog or are they gibberish? English is not my first language and can´t uderstand a word despite being able to play the game without subtitles.

Pity Thane was unconscious all the final battle. He deserved to get in the fight. Also the lack of squad banter. Garrus in the air chase would have bee hilarious.

Garrus: You know, we're in danger here and you two are arguing like little kids, so here's an idea. WATCH THE DAMN ROAD!

Liara and Shep: SHUT UP GARRUS!

Garrus: Great, I'm going to die in this car. I've cheated death three times and now I'm going to in a car crash. What a fitting end.

Oh and don't worry your not missing out , it is gibberish probally translated in some weird unknown language (Yarg most likely.). English sounds nothing like that.

Pity. I´d like to know what Udina was sayig to the C-Sec guy and Anderson to the Cerberus one (in Cerberus uniform in the Citadel. Taking Legion into account, hiding in plain sight by being too obvious works wonders with C.Sec).

According to the Mass Effect wiki on Liara, yes. But according to the discussion to see if it  was true someone said it isn't and that someone put that up there.

So no, no concrete evidence but I'm still not 100% sure. Maybe about 60% sure.

So, what are people's thoughts on Liara's possible role in ME3? Quest giver that remains on the SB ship? Squadmate? Or some sort of hybrid between the two? Or no role at all?!

I'd think it would great if the SB network forms the basis of your information gathering and mission setting infrastructure, but with Liara on the Normandy as a squadmate and Feron looking after the SB ship and feeding data to you via Liara.

I somehow think Bioware is still trying to figure that out by themselfs...thats why I'm sure they left Feron there as a back up...in case they decide to let Liara join you and he takes over.
I personally have the feeling after this DLC...that Liara is determined to find all that can help against the Reapers and that, at least in the final battle, she will join you eventually at a point where that is need to be known has been found and so she can pass it all on to Feron.

There´s also that mention to SB´s data on the protheans and the possible strategy against the Reapers they hadn´t time to use. ME3 should be about getting allies and tech against the Reapers, so it would fit here.

Liked the mention to Hackett too. In ME2 he seemed to be put aside. It was nice reading about him trusting Shepard (either that or he is with Cerberus). And confirmation about Wilson. So many things, integrated in the game almost perfectly.

I agree, the fact the Feron is sitting there on the ship, makes you wonder if BW are going to use him in the future as a caretaker and free up Liara.

Also, I don't know if it's been said yet, but has anyone played it with a character that was unfaithful to Liara? I need to know what happens!

Well I werent unfaithful in that the picture was still up, but I had a fling with Jack. And during that bit in I think the Hotels when we're talking she called me out on it. They were talking about their relationship, Liara said its been two years, to which my shepard replied "I came back" (I'm probably missing some dialogue) and then she said something like "And I was tossed aside for an angry woman with tattoes"

I was never a big Liara fan. Actually I really didnt like her from mass effect 1. But this DLC has made me warm up to the character and I loved their "date" at the end

You get a choice apparantly between the two and the remark on 'what about the future' differs if you choose the ME2 romance. There's also comments in game apparantly.

Spolier for Tali

Shep says "I want to build her a house on the homeworld" to Liara on the Normandy if you choose her over Liara.

You know what I noticed about this DLC...in one way it is very different to nearly all other missions...there is no "Renegade or Paragon - 2 very different choices" ending.
There is just simply: one ending. The only difference it delivers is the choice about the romance.

Indeed, there are some definite hints at the end about possible threads for ME3, possible Prothean tech, access to turian and salarian government, plus the geth and quarians from the vanilla game.

Hackett is a legend and needs to come back! The filling of the plot hole regarding Wilson was pleasing to see, as it was very confusing to have the man who revived you suddenly turn on you.

Still, I hope Liara is a squaddie in ME3, the presence of Feron on the ship could allow this to happen while maintaining the link to the SB network.

***SPOILERS***

I went "EEEEE!" when I got to put squad points in to Liara's powers.  It felt like ME1 at that point.

I laughed at how Liara calls Jack a "tattooed woman with anger problems".  My first play-through of the mission was on a Shepard who had gone with Liara in ME1, and Jack in ME2.  I didn't have Jack in my party at that point, though, so I don't know if Jack even has a reaction.  I bet not, since most teammates don't have lines.  There are some context-sensitive close-ups of certain teammates, though, when the dialogue addresses them specifically.

Liara seems very mature now.  The close-up on her eyes when she's standing before the screens as the SB's contacts ask for a situation update made me wonder how this new role for her will play out in ME3.

Basically he worked for the SB, can't remember what the dossier said exactly, but if gives a reason why he turned on you at the start of ME2. As it stood originally there was no explanation.
