If there's anything I didn't like in the otherwise perfect piece of DLC is the slight hint that Liara might not be coming back in ME3 as a playable (as in, one that could be take on a mission) character. I can see how she could end up being on the Normady but just can't see her running around with a gun after assuming the role of SB.

The only way for her to join your squad is to pass this role of the SB on to someone else...and I think she will do that once you know all you need about the Reapers and you're ready for the final battle.(and I guess that at least a third of the game will be the final battle)

Nah, there are more ways to do that. Like, say, a vanguard Reaper tasked with crippling the information network of the Council worlds assaulting SB's base (probably the single largest cache of data in the galaxy) and Shepard running to the rescue to extract Liara and some valuable data banks so that she could keep operations running from the Normady. Or maybe an operation gone bad, what with Liara not being as experienced as the old SBs with running itel ops, compromising the location of base.

Still, having her on actual mission would require a more ME1 type of narrative where you actually follow a single storyline without much devaition. Not impossible, but tricky.

Don’t think that Liara would walk away from being The Shadow Broker, either during ME3 or after the fact, it’s not just a big opportunity for Liara, its also one for Shepard having access to The Shadow Brokers resource network made me feel so much better about the direction ME2 is going talk about a breath of fresh air. My Shepard has started to feel like she finally belongs in the universe again.
Doesn’t mean that the thought of little blue kiddies had me grinning Posted Image
Lots of talk about shepard having kids around lately.
There is going to be a lot of heartache around if Bioware has an ultimate sacrifice scenario happen.

Another thing about Lair of the
Shadow Broker, is that in the Liara romance ending, Shepard does say
that if the conflict against the reapers ended tomorrow, there could be
marriage and a lot of blue children for Liara and Shepard. This implies
that marriage DOES exist in interspecies couples in Mass Effect (at
least in terms of asari and non-asari couples). In Mass Effect 3, I'm
definately going to have Shepard ask Liara's hand in marriage.

Me too.

yeah I guess, as long as there is a choice. Not something you have to do because nobody else will. Or risk not doing it and damage the galaxy so badly. Why dose Mass Effect have to end Posted Image

Liara deserves even bigger come back in ME3... and for only, only because of one simple reason. Someone finally asked Shepard how she/he's doing. Tis like in DA too, Shepard goes through sheit from the very start, he/she is being judged constantly and no one stops to actually see if Shepard is alright, no one stops to see human behind the shell of leader. First glimpse of someone actually being concerned about him/her (well, skip her here) is with Tali when she finally says that she was watching his face on Virmire while sacrificing one of the squad mates and while galaxy was throwing horrible things at him and he stood alone...

And it was really nice moment for my full paragon female Shepard that stayed loyal to her love for Kaidan, she looked so sad and human, alone and it was nice to see that at least someone cares for her in real honest way.

I still remember my daelish elf female warrior, she was already with Alistair and ambush happens and she finally finds out what happened to her childhood friend and love... and I mean the thing she gets from Alistair after being forced to kill Tamlen, so insensitive... same as in ME1 before and then ME2, everyone are to focused on themselves when it comes to NPCs' characters... so yes, Liara's final dialogue was truly nice, reminded me on KOTOR 2 Visas or Disciple reactions when Exile discovers the truth about herself/himself.

I hope that BioWare will actually proceed down this path... Shepard needs a bit of understanding and love too.

How many people doubt that Shepard and Liara could now be refered to as Bond Mates? And if so... how many believe she won't actually fight by his side in the final battle?

Think about it folks. Would you let your one love go off and do this a second time? NOT! She will be a major part of ME3 and I believe ultimately join your squad and hand the reins over to Feron or at least stay on the Normandy after the big battle to start the life they both want. I don't think she will have as big a problem as everyone thinks letting all that Shadow Broker stuff go. Perhaps staying on the fringe of things... but I think she loves shepard to much to not give it up when all is said and done.

Well, I think there's still a ceremony before they can officially be considered bondmates. And I'm not sure if they're "engaged" due to the fact that neither of them has officially proposed yet. Still, the plans are there, and I think it's happening.

I think she will be back as a squadmate in ME3. There are many possible ways this could happen. The Shadow Broker base could fly around as you base of operations --especially if you get declared rogue in ME3. The ship could get destroyed in the prologue, taking Feron with it, thereby giving additional character devices to be used for ME3. Or yes, she could just hand the reins over to Feron for ME3.

But I think Post-ME3, should the network still be intact, Liara can run the Shadow Broker network and still have a happy life with Shepard.

This. Now she's doing her favourite job, the SB is dead, Feron is alive and she still loves Shepard, so the only things missing are the final battle with Reapers and a wedding and childrens with Shep.

She won't be a squadmate in ME3? It's likely, but as the Shadow Broker she will still be a squadmate, maybe not recruitable for combat. And i think that, after that scene on the Normandy, we will find Liara pregnanty in ME3, so being the Shadow Broker is a good way for not fighting directly in ME3.

I don't care if Liara's back as a (full time) *squad mate* in ME3 -- in fact, I'd prefer her to stay at the Shadow Broker's base of operations for the most part -- but she should absolutely be an important NPC that you can interact with on numerous occasions (as if she WAS a squad mate) and further develop the relationship with.

Basically, just like she is in the Aftermath of LotSB, only MOAR. :D

All true and I agree. In the perspective for both of them in game... I like to think they consider themselves a very solid and irrefutable couple.

Did anyone catch what Liara was walking out of her office with when she went to her apartment? It wasn't the datapad as that was on the desk. It was the frame for the dogtags of Shep's. I thought that was a nice little nod. It was apparently on her office desk all the time.

Though it would be nice, there won't be anything special for Liara in ME3 for people who romanced her, because not everyone romanced her.  For that reason, the default Liara as she exists in the storyline can't be affected by any conditions of the romance.  There can still be context-sensitive romance scenes.  There can also be context-sensitive dialogue options and interruptions, which occurred in the SB DLC.

This leaves us with the opportunity to write fanfic to fill in the gaps.  Hopefully, it's good fanfic.

Additionally, I would really like to see more romance-sensitive dialogue options and interrupt options for all love-interests in ME3.  It presents the opportunity for interaction with squadmates, which was absent from ME2.

They also can't/shouldn't favor one romance over the other, though some are more well-developed than others.
