The second being; has anyone tried the last mission of LotSB with DLC armor on? Awkward spur-of-the-moment kiss to be sure.

Or the full helmet... would like to see a screenshot of that.  I only use visor.

Just dropping in with a couple questions before I play LotSB again.

The first being, now that Liara DLC is here with proper characterization, does anyone else find it funny how Liara says "Still hunting" when you ask her how her own work is going? Funny in the way threatening demeanors can be very endearing.

I find it quite sad. It's the last we ever gonna see of Evil!Liara! :crying:

No. Aside from my Renegade-Femshep, I always use the standard N7 armor pieces. Mostly because it's by far the best looking armor in the game (althrough I do change the orginal colour scheme to urban-camoflauge for all my "preserve the base" characters).

What did people think, when Liara mentioned how she cowered, while Shepard fought the Krogan Battlemaster, on Therum? Was that a little out-of-character, or did it illustrate how Liara really did learn a thing or two from Shepard?

Not at all. And it's not really that she feels she learned something; quite the opposite since the next thing she says is "I"m still leaning on you." I think it's to show she feels like a screw up in general. She couldn't save Shepard's body without getting Feron captured. She couldn't save Feron without Shepard's help, either. Shepard's an intimidating figure - he/she shows up and things get done. What took Liara two years to do took Shepard, what, a couple days? That's gotta put some doubt in your mind - she still feels like the same person that has to depend on Shepard for everything.

It also helps explain her wanting the Shadow Broker's network; now she can actually help Shepard.

I've complained a lot about her characterization in ME2 (ie, bloodrage Liara's character arc and motivations are pretty weak), but I thought this was a nice touch.

Well, it was awesome to have Liara back! It is just too bad this was not included in the original release. It would of really enhanced the "immersion" of the game. Please, charge me more upfront for the game instead of adding additional major content, like Liara later on. She was just too valuable of a character in Mass Effect 1 to have to wait for.

This.

I disagree, it would be horrible because it would be half-assed. Mass Effect 2 probaly had some kind of deadline thus they wouldn't have time to make it anything near The Shadow Broker DLC.

It would probally go like this:

"Commander, help me on this mission to stop the Shadow Broker who I managed to find out where he lives because of him being involved in trying to get your body to sell them to the collecters, no time to explain. But I did some work to get your body to Cerberus. Nevermind that, I can't come with you but you have to kill the Shadow Broker I know where he is. He's is for some reason on a generic planet in a generic place with no explanation on how he's managed to stay unfound all this time. He's a human, don't ask how. No he's not some new species or something that makes sense like a Reaper, Asari, Krogan or Geth. He's a human. No argument.

He has 16 guards, a relatively small base and he's easy to kill. His guards are nothing more than generic mercs and he's nothing more than a generic merc but slightly powerfuler. But I stress "slightly"."

The mission took you about 3 minutes and you found a generic terminal that has all the Shadow Broker's info on it. It comes with a message but no cutscene.

Killed the Shadow Broker. Back at Liara's office.

"Thanks, Shepard. Heres some credits, since I'm the Shadow Broker I can't kiss you or anything or go out on a date to catch up, because I have to go to that generic base on a generic planet and hire some generic mercs to guard it. I will also be wearing generic armour. See you, hopefully I'll return in Mass Effect 3 and not be as awfully written and cheap." <_<

Shepard: "Where have I seen this before? Oh yeah...Mass Effect 1 sidequests. Now in Mass Effect 2. Commander Shepard, breaking the fourth wall since 2007! Oh yeah!" B)

So yeah...Never complain that it was a DLC and not apart of the main game you should be thanking Bioware not to put it in the main game.

If you go through the data files, that's not far off. It looks like the initial plan didn't have Feron at all, and she's just avenging Shep.

You walk in with Cerberus' info and take out the Shadow Broker. Then you find out some of his people survived, which leads into the Nyxeris quest. Liara's reasoning for not joining the Normandy is that she has to go through the Shadow Broker's data for information that might help you against the Collectors and Reapers.

Agreed; considering how short the loyalty missions and recruitment missions from ME2 were, this could have been incredibly understated at about 30 minutes, which is about the length of a mission.

She was always lovable, she was just going through a rough time that was forcing her in a darker direction. Now you have the power to change her direction.

She can be ME3's Garrus. You know, like in ME1 when we had to convince him away from the dark side.

Good thinking, Night.

Yep, just like Aribeth and Bastila Shan, thus Liaribastila! Both Aribeth and Bastila were BW hero characters that went to the dark side.  Both could be redeemed or destroyed, but only Bastila could sway the KOTOR PC to come to the dark side too.  Sorry, but a Liaribastila plot would have to be the best thing BW has ever written in order to defend such a choice.  To be honest, the troubled hero becoming the villain was old hat back in NWN.  I really hope that doesn't happen, but LotSB drops a few bread crumbs that lead in that direction.

Hello everyone in the support Liara T'Soni thread

Name is True Zarken and I was wondering if I could have a moment of your time because I could really use some help.

Now I think we all have our own particular Shepard where this Shepard is your own particular canon in the Mass Effect universe? Am I right? Now my original canon Shepard in Mass Effect had Liara as his Romance because let's face it she's awesome :D But after being told to go and hack a lot of terminals and bugger off in the politest way possible by Liara (This the day Mass Effect 2 got realesed =P) I kinda got annoyed and went back and started another Male Shepard play through where I didn't romance anyone just so I could try out the Tali romance and they're both good in their own right. However since the release of LOTSB I am torn between the two, because they're both really great Romances and it's hard for me to choose because they're both really great characters and I am trying to work out who should be my canon romance for my universe.

So! I thought I'd come to the Liara thread and see if you guys, and girls could help me out? ? I've already got a compelling argument for Tali and now I need one for Liara and I thought the best place to go and get Liara support would be the Support Liara T’Soni thread.

So I'd just like to say thank you in advance

Regards
True Zarken

Also I’d just like to say how awesome is Liara?

I was in the same predicament as you, i didn't know whether to romance tali or liara.

With my canon shep i ended up choosing liara, this is why:

From a role-playing perspective, Tali could potentially die from being with shepard. Taking off her mask to kiss him will leave her with a cold  for a week. Now i don't know about you, but i don't see how that could end happily, with tali constantly being sick and in danger to be with shepard. Plus, they are from two uncompatible species, two different DNA types. The quarians are pretty much better looking turians when it comes to genetics.

Now with Liara, first of all she's biologically compatible with a human. Asari and humans are basically the same. Second, she put her life in danger to retrieve your body from the shadowbroker and the collectors. She loved shepard unconditionally. Of course this changed a bit over the 2 year period, but all was sorted out in LOTSB.

So from that perspective i chose liara. But from a non-roleplaying perspective, i like liara's personality a lot more now after LOTSB, and i think shes pretty much the sexiest alien in mass effect. And i think her romance scene is by far the best in ME2

It's true that Tali can get sick and die from being with Shepard. At the same time, My Shepard is honored knowing she would risk herself just to be with him. Honestly, she's very difficult for me to give up on. I tried to make my Main!Shep romances others, and it's just not the same. For some reason, I just feel so much joy when I'm with her. I have nothing against the other romances at all, but there's something about Tali that I can't resist.

Also, anyone can potentially die being with Shepard, regardless of relationship. lol

You both (Azure and Pseudo) make great cases for both Tali and Liara.

To be honest out of all the decisions in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, the decision between Tali or Liara is the hardest for me =P Not whether or not the Council lives of not, not Legions Loyalty mission, not the Collector Base, no this is the hardest =P

It's pretty simple for me, since I'm not a great fan of MaleShepxLiara. I have no problem with it, I just personally don't like it anywhere near as much as FemShepxLiara. So for me, all FemSheps go with Liara, and all MaleSheps go with Tali.

Now, If Tali was a female romance option as well, then we'd have a true dilema.

CheesesackIII I think you just hit it on the nail as it were. I do enjoy the FemShepxLiara Romance more than the MaleShepxLiara romance. However I think it is down to voice acting which is a shame =(

Jennifer Hale's voice just made the romance more convincing for me.

I guess I could make a Female canon and a Male canon Universe but it may get to me :P There must only be one canon Shepard :bandit:

You've porbably talked about this before but do people perfer playing as Male Shepard or Female Shepard when romancing Liara? I'd like to get a point of few from other Liara fans
