Jennifer Hale's voice just made the romance more convincing for me.

You've porbably talked about this before but do people perfer playing as Male Shepard or Female Shepard when romancing Liara? I'd like to get a point of few from other Liara fans

I have her romance for my male shep, as i only play a male shep. But i'm pretty sure the majority on these forums romance her as a female. I don't know i guess they like lesbian action or something.

In the Video scene after killing the Shadow Broker, Liara is coming to you to help u stand up.  Did only i think that something is missing there ? She´s looking to you as she would think "the shadow broker is dead, finally, its over.. but, what should i do now, tell me shepard"  or something like that. But Shepard is just going to help her other Squadmate stand up and Liara hangs her head and looks somehow disappointed.
(BTW this video scene is missing in the german version )

I just have a feeling that there could be something missing like a paragon option to talk to her or something...

I read a comment somewhere that gave me the impression that there was a bit more to that scene if you had cheated on Liara and brought your other LI with you as a squadmate (the gall!).  From what I gathered Liara would then look over at the two of them together like this [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie]. Having never cheated on Liara in any of my playthroughs, however, I can't say for sure.

Cheating on Liara = Shovel list. If someone is romancing Ash or Kaidan I wouldn't care if they cheated. I'd applaud them

I took Tali the last time....it was disturbing that the Shadow Broker says cool things about Legion, Thane, etc....but Tali, hah. The Shadow Broker basically says "Hey, T'soni, why'd you bring the Quarian...she got her whole squad killed on Haestrom?" Kinda brutal...



Yes Liara does give a different look if you bring an LI. I also like her comment about wanting to get under Tali's helmet.



I have 3 Sheps....1 is female/Liara LI, 1 is male/ Liara LI, and 1 is male/ Tali LI. The Femshep romance is the best with Liara...feels more natural and less forced IMO. Hale does a great job.

I think it comes from Shepard being a little miffed. If you romanced her and then get sent packing to hack terminals... that has to hurt. After defeating Vela... Liara didn't want to talk about them... another knife in the gut. At least it was for me. I completely understand where Liara is coming from... her emotional state and all. But I think what a lot of people miss is that Shep had two years of his life taken from him. No one trusts him, no one believes him, and he is still trying to come to grips with that. Now the woman that he loves is basically telling him to back off... how is he supposed to feel. It would make me think that she was more than friends with this Feron dude and now that he was rescued I would lose the only thing I really wanted. Which was Liara.

It really comes out... his emotions when you are in his cabin and Liara asks him how he is doing. He says pretty much the same things I just posted.

That's just my take on the whole scene. Of course... when she starts to cry... man I hug her faster than you can blink.

A pat on the shoulder at very least, I can understand not chatting while the other group member is unconcious but just wondering off after Liara helps you up seemed a bit tactless.

Two reasons I prefer to romance Liara with a female character:
I prefer Female Shepard generally. Partly because I literally cannot make a reasonable looking male character in the ME chatacter creator and I don't like using default appearance, but I have to to be male. I don't make very good looking female characters, either, but they don't look half as wierd. And partly because I prefer Jennifer Hale's voice acting.

I don't like turning down Tali with my male characters. It's not that I particularly like her romance, or even that I particularly like her, but I can't resist the way she approaches MaleShep to start it, especially in the absence of Liara...

That scene reminded me of the locker scene in ME1 where they were interrupted just before they would have kissed for the first time. I think Liara expected a completion of that memory at that moment abd did not expect Shepard to walk away from her. I think Shepard walked away to assist the squadmate out of frustration with Liara's ambivalence to resuming their love relationship. At that point I don't think either of them understands where the other is coming from. Liara is like, I want you but I don't want to ever be hurt like that again and Shepard is like, I want you but you've given me reason to think you've moved on. I think that by using the paragon interrupts they both realize that their love fo one another is stronger than their doubts and they agree to try again.
I'm hoping that BW gives them some time together in subsequent productions to develop their romance because it's simply epic.
Did anyone else notice that Liara's eyes turn black when Shepard touches the small of her back ?

Could be that I am reading waaaaay more into it than I should, but Shep is responsible for her crew, not jusrt Liara and the scene could suggest that duty will always come first.  Then again, it could just be an awkwardly written scene.

Lol, thats very clever. I didnt know that.

I managed fine, and now that I know why, it has strangely enhanced the experience for me. It would be nice to see more of that in the future, where your decisions dont just influence what dialogue you get, but also which direction you might be able to take any dialogue in the future.

And I did see that with Liara's eyes. It only goes to my point that in the month prior to Shepard 'dying' he learned all the little nuances of Liara's body and just where to touch her. I thought it was one of the msot telling moments in the whole scene because it showed that their love had truely been reborn!

When romancing Liara, I prefer playing as a Male Shepard simply because I am able to emotionally invest myself in the romance to a greater extent. However, Male Shepard's dialogue has bothered me in the past, he never came onto the level Hale was able to perform in ME1 and 2. However, this did change in Lair Of The Shadow Broker. Meer did an excellent job.

So, bottom line, I personally prefer to romance Liara with a Male Shepard, but I don't have a problem with people who prefer a Female Shepard.

I think that the track from the Inception soundtrack "Mombasa" would fit perfectly in that scene.

I just wish the chase had been a little longer.

At this point, I don't think it would be reasonable to ask for more from Bioware, but I do find myself wishing we could relax on the couch in the Shadow Broker Data Center with Liara. And we could roll down the shutters on the windows from some great scenery too!

No. Remove it all together. Don't make vehicle sections if you not 100% good at it.
