Just uploaded a WIP of my Shepard/Liara artwork to my "Liara" Album. I'm not sure about positing it directly, 'cause I don't know if it's too risque. You can never be too carefull.

After wrestling with it for a couple months, I think I'm going to take a break on it for now. It's farther along than what's shown in the image. I'll most likely be finishing it, but seeing as the face Shepard has is rather out of date, it's not number one of the priority list.

Aye. It's a nice sketch. And there's been far "worse" things on this thread!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back Lizard !
Shadow Broker was waiting ;)

Didn't the mission complete text tell that TIM knows about Liara as the new SB? I hope it won't put Liara in danger.

I hate TIM... but do you really believe he will try anything against her now. Especially if Shepard romanced her? Hah!! TIM's life expectancy would drop to below zero!

He would have to find her first to...but thinking about that..wouldnt miranda tell him...or wouldnt some normandy treacking tel him...
I dunno I think that that is a little plot hole there...If he got the chance to obtain the shadow broker main ship with all intel then I see no logical reason why he wouldnt.

I thought about that too and these are my feelings on it...

Miranda: Yes... Cerberus has helped Miranda with keeping her sister safe. However... as it says in the Mission complete statement it was only as a means to keep her loyalty. Now in come Shep... her sister is in danger and he helps Miranda without so much as a blink(Paragon anyway. IDK about Renegade Shep) He askd for nothing in return since she is already helping him on their mission. Miri sees how TIM is as the mission progresses, the betrayal on the Collector Base, luring the Collectors to Horizon. I look at it as finally the blinders are coming off Miranda in her travels with Shepard. She sees the inrrefutable trust between him and Garrus and Tali. What he developes between Mordin and Grunt. All of them. If she tells TIM to go take a pokey in the end, which she does, I can't see her ever trusting him again. Therefore she would never give him the opportunity to discover the Shadow Broker assets. As for her sister... I am writing thisin my fanfic too... I believe Shepard and Miranda will move her sister to where TIM will never find her or her family.

The Base: My take is this... the remaining crew saw Shepard come for them to rescue them. Against all odds he came for them. That would instill a sense of loyalty that can't be broken. When he did that... they became Shep's crew and not Cerberus.

Besides... Shep still has the Intel that could seriously hurt Cerberus... not to mention the information Liara now has that belonged to the Shadow Broker. He's devious and manipulative... but I don't think he is stupid.

How did any of you handle the hostage scene in LOTSB? I couldn't do the persuasion check (since it requires you either release Rachni/save council or kill Rachni/kill council), so I chose to simply shoot through Mariana's arm and hurt Vasir.

I went with the Charm option and my jaw dropped when Shepard mentioned the Rachni and Council decisions.

I got the impression that the Shadow Broker is far more powerful the Cerberus anyway, I imagine that --even for knowing who the Shadow Broker is-- they're not much closer to being able to sieze control, given the broker's political connections, private army, probably even agents within Cerberus (remember Wilson?) they couldn't just roll up and take over.

Makes me wonder how we took down the previous broker so easily though... Arrogance on his part? A bit of suspension of disbelief?

If you count information as power, somehow I always got the feeling that Cerberus was more powerful militarily than SB, especially now that Shep and Liara has diminished that private army. However, putting Liara in that seat with the help of Shep could be the worst/best thing they could ever have done. On one hand they could have secured the gratitude of both Shep and Liara as well as put a less hostile SB in power. On the other hand they have made Shep less dependant on Cerberus, and made the new SB unassailable if they want to keep Shep in their ranks/as an ally.
They've gone and done quite the good job in painting themselves into a cosy little corner.

It could have been a plan from the very inner circle of Cerberus, not known to the rest of the organisation, to get a chance to purge Cerberus of those SB agents.

This kind of power struggle is always difficult to assess though, because according to the codex, cerberus has been stockpiling ships and military machinery, so theoretically, they should have a lot more immediate force at their disposal.  But as you said, so long as shep and liara are alive, liara is arguably the most dangerous person in the galaxy being that she has shep at her immediate command (far as I am concerned), combine that with the inflitrated government bodies it is really difficult to call as to where the true balance of power sits.

Finally got around to playing LotSB. Holy crap. it was awesome. I love Liara even more She's really snarky now and I love it. She and Shepard seem like true partners now. He can open up to her and vice versa. I used one of my non-romance Shepards but I think this has just become my favorite romance in the series. She's strong and independently powerful. There's no risk of him overshadowing her. I love it. I really, really love it.

Glad to hear you finally been able to play it. It's also good to see Liara becoming Shepard equal, sadly i'm afraid it's just gonna cost her a squadmate role in ME3! :(

Also, I feel like sharing it again. But the cabin-reunion scene is by far stayed loyal/lost people on collector base. Make the scene so much more powerful.

I was just starting another run today actually, and pre-suicide mission, I noticed something thats going to change the way I play through Liaras role in ME2 from here on out. Having her elaborate why she needs to track done the SB via LotSB dialogue is so, SO much better. Im talking about having the option to say "you saved me Liara" and it not be about the stupid mission, but about Shepard being brought back because of Liaras intervention.

Plus having her tell Shepard "you dont know how much that means to me" is just sweet. A million times better. As annoying as it will be to possibly leave Nyxeris unfinished/ignore the dialogue where she explains her motivation in future, I think Im going to have to on the basis of simply having a much better show of gratitude from Shepard if you let her elaborate after giving her the cerberus intel on the SB.

Yes, they can proceed as equals and as such BW has the opportunity to develop a totally epic romance. I'm looking forward to experiencing that development as it evolves.

btw you really should try a playthrough with one of your Shepards who both romanced Liara and remained loyal. I thought this path was so much better.

I had planned in doing it after her quests in Illium, probably after Collector Ship. Then return after SM and see if files had updated.

About TIM, I don´t think he would try to move against SB Liara before Reapers are dealt with. Man is usually pragmatic, even if his operations seem to backfire more often than not. Liara should consider moving the Ishimura to another location. Her main advantage however is that quite a few friendly people know she is SB. Anyone trying to replace her would have a really short life expectancy even if successful.

Yeah, Im not quite sure of the specifics, but if you give her the info before finishing the data collection quests, she will summarize why she needs to find the SB (telling you about her working with Feron and Cerberus to track you down and hand you over).

As before, she is worried about Shepards reaction, but this time the positive response is FAR better, and Liara has a better response herself as well.

If you ever replay ME, try out giving Liara the SB info right away to get the dialogue.

Ill try later tonight if it works by still completing the quests (exposing Nyxeris) but not asking her for her reasons why and see if it still works (Im guessing it will).

Bottom line is though, I think letting her elaborate on why she is hunting the SB is best done with the newly added LotSB dialogue as opposed the old dialogue is just a million times better now. Its like they actually listened to the folks who said Shepard saying "I couldnt complete the mission if you hadnt given me to them" was crap, and did something about it.

I did LOTSB post suicide mission.

What added dialogue is there if you do it beforehand?

I'd imagine I'd miss out on her chewing me out for fooling around with Miranda which was appropriately dramatic, although it nearly caused me to reload an earlier save and break up with Miranda out of fear that I'd ruined things with Liara (thankfully it worked out),

But I'd give that up for the chance to have a decent reunion with Liara in place of the confusing and depressing gut punch I got from her appearance in the main game.

I am also a Male-Shep romancing Liara, and i can't see nothing bad in this. I have nothing against Lesbians.

It was never about being against lesbians to be honest.

Never told that, i read that the intolerance for Male Shepards in that group was caused by some kind of homofobic discrimination, and i said that i have nothing against lesbians. ;)

Anyway, after clicking "Upload Info", the new avatar is supposed to appear automatically?
