She could also move her base of operations to the Normandy and use EDI to aid in analyzing data. Feron could stay at the main SB base. This may take some time, though.
Coincidentally enough, this process may complete itself just as the events of ME3 begin, when Shepard is beginning to gather a team to aid her in the final fight against the Reapers.

hey folks, new poster here. Been a loyal Liara fan since me1, i just dont visit forums much but i had to cave for her. I have to agree with LesEn's quote "They say that the measure of both an individual and their love for another becomes clear in times of adversity". Even after being a bit frustrated at the Iilum sceen like many, I roleplaying thought to myself "that if i really love her, i will trust her". It seems that many others act in a selfish, and in my opinion juvinille fassion because she wont drop everything to jump into Shepard's pocket. One attractive thing about her is that she can be independent, and an equil. Isent that more fun anyway? In the end ive played the game 3 times and i couldent imagine picking anyone else.
anyway just thought i should finnaly chime in and say a hearty hello and introduce myself to the other Liara fans here. Good posting and playing everyone!
Very well said. I've always trusted and respected Liara, and I love the fact that she has always been Shepard's equal in their relationship and romance. Thanks for the contribution, and welcome!

Welcome, and I agree 100%. Liara is an independent woman with a mind of her own.
I do see a lot of people around these boards that I know dropped her in ME2 for another, and now want her back b/c she's 'nice' to their Shepard again...I do not like this one bit, but there's nothing that I can do about it. I would have hoped the LotSB romance would have been shut off for those that did take another LI, but it wasn't.

If there was one flaw with the DLC, it's that. The sad thing is, as soon as their ME2 flame gets more romance content, they'll probably dump Liara again. That's what you call a fair-weather fan or a scumbag.

Glad to see that artisitic creativity has been put forward once again and speculation about the future for Shepard and Liara is brewing.
In relation to an earlier train of thought regarding a possible ceremony, I think it would be interesting if the service began and closed with a hymn from both respective cultures. For example, I think this might be an interesting human hymn:
www.youtube.com/watch - "Non Nobis, Domine"
Ahem, moving on...

I think you cant romance her in the DLC if you cheated on her...or do you mean the entire scene on the normandy at the end of the DLC?

good term, fair-weather fan, or fair-weather lover. Like the friend you had that stopped coming by because you stopped having parties. I might have to incorporate that into my forum vernacular;P

rynluna, did you figure out what minor habit your Shepard could pass on to Liara?
I have to say that I really liked your Shepard's habit of being a gum chewer and even passing that onto Samara.
My Shepard is musically inclined. She plays guitar for Liara whenever they get some down time. She has a sometimes annoying habit of tapping solid surfaces as if they were drums. Liara picked up this habit and sometimes when thinking of her girlfriend she will tap a song that Shepard has played for her in the past. So there.

Hopefully that royally explodes in their face come ME3 and they get nobody, I think that would be fair.
To some extent I wonder if people being upset at her insistence on taking down the Shadow Broker and taking over the network is because Liara is acting like the player. Often times Shepard (and player characters in general) do the sort of Jedi mind trick and makes NPCs radically change their plans and abandon their personal goals. The player on the other hand rarely falls for that themselves, they carry out their goals regardless of what NPCs say. So is the negative response to Liara's role as the Shadow Broker attributed to anger on the part of the player who are almost insulted that this character won't bend to their will and abandon her personal goals?

I'm pretty sure you can romance her if you cheated. This is what I've been hearing. I think you can take her back on the Normandy, and it ends the other relationship for the time being.

Maybe long after Shepard is gone, and his deeds have been forgotten, the last remaining trace of his legacy will be that he introduced gum-chewing to the asari.

I think the end of LOTSB was where Liara and Shepard reaffirmed their feelings for one another and committed to having a go at making it work. I'd like to see that process evolve either on subsequent visits to the SB base, visits to the Normandy, or missions/trips together. I think Liara is fine in her role as SB and I wouldn't expect her to abandon that position but I don't think that has to mean that we all have to wait for the end of ME3 to see Liara and Shepard be together. I think BW should acknowledge an evolving process from a spoken commitment to a celebration of the success of that commitment. I mean, even acknowledging comments from squadmates would be something and the 'thanks for coming by' although appropriatly generic leaves me thinking that I would have said more in an LI role. I realize that not everyone is nurturing a love with Liara but BW demonstrated that they have the ability to differentiate using interrupts and game play features. I just hope they continue on that path. Even though it's complicated with all the variables I think the effort would be worth it to raise the bar for such a potentially Epic romance.

Hmmm...that's an interesting way to look at it. This may be the case for some. The player has absolutely no choice in LotSB....Liara becomes the new SB because she wants it, even though Shepard (the player) will end up benefitting down the line.

I have one questions about the wedding. Would you choose to make it a private, as in crew, strike team, and friends only and keep it secret? Or would you do something more open to the galatic community and have it be a big "most famious specter and savior of the galaxy to wed the asari Liara T'Soni, tonight at 11, well get peoples reaction to this shocking news, this is Emily Wong signing off" kind of thing?
ps Ill check out your fanfic now lizard:)
Im one of the few persons who really likes all squadmembers...my shep would like to let the people he trusts and fought with side by side have the possibility to clebrate such a great and wonderful moment with him.
Make it about 25 people in a private location...last thing I would want is to make it a media spectacle.

No way would I want it to be a huge wedding. I would like it to be intimate and among Shepard and Liara's friends and family. Emily Wong can attend but I wouldn't want the ceremony broadcasted across the galaxy.
