Do you think that once Shepard dies and she is left alone for those hundreds of years she will take on a new lover?
Heh, we had this discussion earlier and alot of us felt not. Shepard is the first and only person who has ever meant something to Liara in her life, and once Shepard is dead and gone I can't see her moving on easily. Shep's lifespan is probably greatly increased from all the cybernetic implants, too, so maybe Liara will get to spend alot more time with Shepard than asari normally do with humans. Once Shepard has gone, I can see Liara raising her children and partipating in community and societal affairs as a means of honouring and remembering Shepard's legacy.
Yeah, I know humans can live to be about 150, and that was before they came to the citadel.
Id imagine that would give them newer medicine and such, plus Shepards cybernetics.
I would never want Liara to move onto someone else.
I have to say, in the next 30-50 years we should have the means to extend life for a couple hundred years.
In ME2's time, we should have the ability to extend it to at least 1000.
Shep could very well live as long as Liara.
Aw, I really wouldn't
begrudge Liara or anything if she moved on after Shep passed on. She said something about 'we don't dwell on that we're going to lose our partners, we celebrate what time we have with them'. I just think she deserves a bit more than a
bloody month to celebrate <_<. In fact, (BEGIN WMG) I swear that that could be where the guilt comes from ... depending on what Liara and Shep tend to believe in (I know I've always ticked the 'no atheists in a foxhole' option with Ash, to the point of ranting at actual atheists offended by that line to the effect of 'then
stop taking that option!', but I don't know all that much about Liara's beliefs in practice), she might be more worried about denying Shepard her idea of an afterlife than her having to work for a potentially evil organization like Cerberus. Or, she's thinking less of herself as an asari for not being able to accept a loss she
knew was coming eventually? (END WMG)
But really, I don't expect Shepard to live longer than Miranda and Oriana should be able to (I presumed it could be around 200 from my take), but let's be honest, she -- again all my Sheps are 'she' -- will at least get a decent chance to raise a daughter beyond how old Liara is now, and have whole human lifetimes, plural, of happiness together. (Maybe two or three daughters, even

. And she
will get to raise them to basic maturity, which a lot of 'fathers' of asari don't get, so ...)
I'm just saying... I'm not greedy. If I were really Alyna I'd be glad for an opportunity to make my LiLi happy for as long as I could, and be confident that even if she did remarry, she'd never forget me. (Like, as a novelization for Star Trek made clear, Perrin never
replaces Amanda in Sarek's eyes.)
