As an archeologist Liara wasnt respected because of her age, as an Information Broker she was. Why was that ? If i find the Answer of this question i would have an answer to your question regarding "a point in the Maiden stage in which an asari is considered more than a child an receives the respect..."  I think it has something to do with the work she does. Dont u think ?

Well my University training was in History so I can say it's likely just a difference in the line of work, scholars are a picky bunch and they don't like new people with crazy new ideas all that much. The things she was saying went against the establishment and she just wasn't old enough to have anyone listen to her, whereas an information broker all that matters is results and with her high intelligence and organizational skills she seemed to have done very well for herself.

Reasons why she's respected as an information broker.

A: She's been part of Shepard's team and helped stopped a "terrorist" attack on the citidal.
B: She wouldn't have been able to reach the top on Illium by playing clean.
C: She's Liara goddamn T'soni!

I think this (including what adneate said) is a really good compilation why liara is more respected regardless her age. thanks

Does anyone think Liara looks a lot different than in ME1? She doesn't appear to have as many freckles or they're much smaller or something is different about her. She looks better, but a lot different than in ME1.

She is very different, probably just maturing and a graphical upgrade.

The freakles are more pronounced, her eyes are a lot deeper blue (which looks amazing), and her lips have been edited heavily.

Here's a good ME1 reference photo: Image IPB

Thanks for that. I could swear her freckles were more pronounced in ME1. (wonder if the graphics aren't on the highest setting in this pic or perhaps I had different lighting or something on my old monitor. The freckles still look a little bigger, just not well defined, and yeah her eyes are a completely different color and her lips look very different. When I started LotSB, I didn't really recognize her, but thought it was due to the lighting in the game or something. I guess they wanted to make her look better or more mature or something.

She's also Benezia's daughter. I also sure most of her money came from her mother's will.

I wonder if she also inherited some of her commandos. She might have called some who didn´t follow her to Saren.

They may use that to explain away Liara killing the SB on her own if your Shepard hasn't played LotSB.

Bioware, please don't do this!

Edit: I mean making Liara the Shadow Broker in ME3 even without this new DLC.

The big change has been in the size and quality of Liara's face texture, it's gone from 512x512 to probably 4096x4096 in LotSB. Her eyes are now deep sapphire blue whereas before in ME1 they were a grey-blue and in ME2 they were grey (no blue at all), she's also wearing blue lipstick in LotSB.

nice, i like those pictures adneate.
The last 2 get liara in the middle of her more emotional moments in the core game and LotSB, with a reminder of ME1 in the first picture.

The fact that there's one ending to the DLC tells me that I think she is going to be the SB, fully canon, at least for the bridging period.

I do hope she gets out of her obligations and joins us for at least another mission, though, and preferably for the entire game...  It'd be silly to have her just for one mish on one episode.

Even if it WAS the best series of missions to date and pure, glorious Liaramuffin fanservice ...

I really ... seriously, I've decided that if I ever get the Paramour achievement in ME2... I'll have to download a save, because a) I can't play through ME1 without flirting with Liara and B) I could never cheat on her. Ever. So I'd have to download a non-romance Shepard... even that'd feel weird, but I might be able to do it. (Though the only one I'm really that interested in doesn't 'count' anyway...)

I think Liara's role as a full squadmate at some point in ME3 is pretty much assured since they took the time to both create an all new texture for her character model, set a weapon load out, custom class and special bonus power that required full programming to bring into the main game. The way DLC works and the way Mass Effect as a trilogy works they would not have done all that ground work if they had no intention of using her as a full AI controlled squadmate at some point in the near future. The only reason they'd green light the time, manpower and resources to create all that custom content was if they could get more than one DLC episode out of it. Look at the Dragon Age DLC where nothing carried forward to the next game, they wouldn't even commit to making new environments or recording a few extra bits of dialogue for an Orlesian Warden since the effort would not have been worth it because come DA2 they have to start from scratch. Her joining Shepard is really only a question of when not if.

This is something Ive thought about, so here goes: What would you name you and Liara's daughter?

Would you go for an asari name, a human name, something inbetween, or completely different? Im sure some of you must have some good ides.

Some ideas off the top of my head:

Thanna
(because my cousin is named Hanna, just a slight modification)

Benezia (to honor liara's mother)

Liara Jr.(which im sure many have thought of)

Not sure they would name her after Benezia considering everything that happened there.

I think Shepard would go for a variation of Liara's own name. Or something that would relate to their love for each other, as deep as it is. Something unique and beautiful.

I would prefer an Asari name, it's better if Liara will decide for us:lol:

Ummmmm it's a vital part to the story...Liara is going to be the SB whether you played the DLC or not.  You just gotta accept that now lol.

I would give Shepard and Liara's child a unique name. A special name. A name with meaning and character. A name with an attitude.

She will be called... PYOTR!
