I rely hope they do something more with Liara for ME2, well all the ME1 LI's. Living it like it is just stinks. There is lots that can be done and the demand is there to, just hope if they do something they put some effort in it or they may just as well leave it be.

I've been lurking the previous thread and the "the devs really dropped the ball..." thread, and I'll just want to post in here, showing my support for Liara. I really like to read what fellow Liara fans have to say about her in ME2 and just in general =).

I think it is more likely they are going to push her into being the new Shadow Broker and that she will serve as an NPC contact in ME3. Let BW know just how much this would suck and be totally lame.
There is no other option then full squadmate in ME3 in my opinion, if she is made a NPC like character they make a fatal mistake. For ME2 DLC she may very well just be as she is now but with more interaction and the one that sets you on the road to take out the SB. I honestly don't think we will see a DLC that makes her a squadmate

While I think it is pretty much a fact Liara will be a major role in ME3 I still giving my shout out to show support of it. Be nice if the suspected DLC is true though.

While I'd like to see her as a full member of the party, I don't think that's the most important aspect. There needs to be continuation of and closure to the romance. I really hope BioWare will not treat the ending as an afterthought again, like they've repeatedly done with their games, lately DA. ME 3 needs several significantly different endings, based on choices made by the player of course, with movie-worthy epic closing cutscenes. And one possible ending should always be a classic happy end with Shepard and his/her LI (please, no forced sacrificing!). I think all fans of all the different companions would agree on that.

Liara is one of their most accomplished daughters. By the end of ME3, Shepard will be pretty much the most accomplished being in the galaxy. So they want lots of offspring.
A bonus is that the pro-human groups then can get really angry at Shepard for turning his/her back on the human race. Then the more reasonable people can say "Well, Shepard did save all life in the galaxy, so you can't really claim he/she didn't do enough..."

The ending needs to changed based on how your romances went. Anyone that stayed faithful to an LI through all 3 games definitely deserves a much more epic ending than someone who only stayed faithful though the last two.
I'd also be disappointed if they let you cheat in ME2 and still get back together with the old LI, what would be the point of having stayed faithful then?

Yes give us the possibility of a happy ending pleas. I vote for a nice cuddle cutscen with a burning Reaper fleet in the background:D ME3 is the end so don't make a halfhearted attempt with bringing all peaces together, not just with the romances. For some reason I got a lot of pictures in my head all of a sudden of how the end could be, there is a blue Asari scientist in all of them.

When Liara comes over to Shepard at the beginning of the ME2 I wish the option was there to say, "F*** Joker, lets get the hell out of here". (Of course I kid. Still, I wish you could at least hit Joker upside the head).
Anyway, Liara will be a squadmate in ME3 by the will of her fans and of any random god you can think of. (Even the Egyptian ones).

I guess the possibility would be there for Shepard and Liara to have children, as Shepard will probably live a great deal longer with the cybernetics.
I guess the romantic ending would need to be permanent in the sense of Shepard and Liara doing something to express their love as it is the conclusion to the game and hopefully will solve the relationship problem in some type of DLC. Marriage could be a option if we were faithful, perhaps? (Do Asari even have a type of marriage)?

Speculation: Liara and Shepard may be able to combine and control the infrastructure of the shadow broker and cerberus. They will have powerful allies in the alliance, quarians, wrex's krogan, rachnis, and probably the geth.
After defeating the Reapers, Liara and Shepard will start an organization much like the Jedi order to preserve peace, jusctice, and stability in the galaxy. And of course always watchful for any new threats upon the horizon.

So would I, ther have to be consecvense for cheating and I mean real consecvense. I would not mind if it made the ME1 LI non recruitable and maybe effect the story a little too.

The way it's presented in ME2, it makes sense for you to be able to get back with the ME1 LI. It's not like you are obviously cheating on them - you were dead and there isn't much indication your relationship is still going (since none of them want to come with you).
Certainly, it should play out differently if Shepard was faithful, but I don't think it should preclude a reunion. I'd argue that it makes sense for a Shepard that did not romance Liara in ME1 to start a romance with her in ME3 (if there is no other romance active), as she clearly cares deeply about Shepard.
I do think that Liara will have to be a squad member in part 3 to really tie up all the loose ends. There's too much ground to cover and I can't imagine Liara not wanting to be near Shepard for the final battle (unless Shepard is a total jerk to her, then she'd probably be torn).

Just quoting for support, some lovely blue daughters running around would create a nice happy ending if you have to earn it and it's not done the sappy happy way.
This would make a great reward and more than compensate the "rocky relationship" (Casey Hudson" of ME 2.

If we've learned anything from ME 2, it's that BioWare don't like to "waste" time implementing stuff that only players of previous installments will see. So IF they write meaningful romance dialogue for Liara in ME 3 (which we of course all hope for), then I think that even new players will be able to see it. And I don't think they'd exclude those who "cheated" in ME 2 either. If on the other hand she's only "available" for the small (?) number of players who started the romance in ME 1, or even only for those who stayed faithful during ME 2, I fear her role would once again be very short and shallow.
