Goodwood understands.

Intelligence officers rarely, if ever, have to face the possibility of having to make command decisions. If Goodwood knows his military ethos well enough, he would suppose that most intel pukes would likely plod their way through, trying to number-crunch on the fly, and either arriving at some contrived conclusion or reaching a decision when it is too late to affect the outcome of a battle. Liara wouldn't be your typical intel officer, though, that much is certain.

Well, then again, history has shown that vital and timely intelligence can win battles, if not turn the tide of a theatre of war.

Perhaps that could be a great set-up for ME 3- with the Reaper invasion starting to hit civilised space, at some point mid to late through the game, Liara could come across some intelligence or infomation that could potentially turn the tables into the Citadel space's favor.

Jacob; Welcome aboard Doctor T'Soni , your reputation preceeds you and even though it might make the Illusive man a little nervous we're all happy you're here.

Liara; Thank you Jacob you can call me Liara. Your kindness is appreciated.

Jacob; It'll be a relief obtaining information from someone who isn't willing to use us as bait.

Liara; Of that you can be sure.

Jacob; We're a little short on space but there's an area in the cargo bay that might suit your needs.

Shepard (interrupt); That won't be necessary Jacob, Liara will be staying with me.

Jacob; Aye aye Commander and let me congradulate you both.

It just hit me on the Miranda thread, reading what others had thought about it before, about why Miranda wanted to have her "sex time" with Shep in the engine room -- Yeah, I can guess Bioware did it because it appealed to their, uh, fancy, but I'm thinking plausible in-universe reason here -- and the reason might have been because its the only place without surveillance equipment.

Now if this is true... Just imagine TIM listening to a recording, or worse, looking at footage of Shep and Liara "reminiscing"... Sitting in his little chair with a glass of fine liquor and a cig, that enigmatic smile on his face... Image IPB

It's just research. He's been looking for a few new tricks so he can suprise Matriach Trellani during their next "personal debriefing".

Goodwood was going to say something similar. Timmy loves him some Matriarch tail...

...the filthy hypocrite.

Not really!

TIM never said he hated aliens, he just want human dominance in the galaxy! ;)

There's a diffrence, and TIM loves aliens just as much as the next guy!

TIM's not a hypocrite. He doesn't hate aliens, he just doesn't want them ruling over humanity.

Trellani might not even be the only Asari he's "seeing"... There was that "Fornax dreamgirl" as well... Very likely another Asari.

EDIT

Great minds, eh Lizard? Image IPB

This is how I rationalize the whole "sympathetic Cerberus member" puzzle:

Imagine a CIA (or MI6) black ops officer during the Cold War. He hates the Soviet commie regime and has taken part in brutal wet work operations many times. But he doesn't hate the Russian people. On the contrary, Dostoyevski is his favorite author, he is fluent in the language, traditional Russian culture fascinates him, and his on/off GF is the daughter of Russian expats. During undercover work, he has enjoyed spending time with ordinary Russian people. Were things different, he might consider travelling to the country for a nice vacation.

But for the present, they are "the enemy", be the war "hot" or "cold".

He can be civil with "the enemy" when required to, and might even be on "friendly" terms with some, but he will never let down his guard and is always looking for an ulterior motive when the Soviets are involved. And once the violence starts, he will kill without mercy or hesitation.

That's a nice way of putting it. But you should post it in the TIM support thread.

Nice.

But anyway. The reason I haven't posted is more or less because i've been trying my best to make progres with my fanfic. Perhaps later I could post the very first part of it, just so I can get some reviews.

Right now, I'm listening to the Beyond Rangoon soundtrack and it makes me think of Shepard and Liara post-ME3, living on Thessia.

Here's what I'm guessing; Liara will find some information leading to either A: a Prothean project --similar to Ilos in its secrecy-- that has to do with a superweapon, like a black hole generator. Or B: Information leading to a world that was once home to the Reaper race before they became the Old Machines. Previously untouched for untold eons, it would unlock their secrets and a weakness.

I vote B.

And the plot of Mass Effect 3 would revolve around finding it.

Or it might have something to do with that unknown race who managed to shoot the Reaper some long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away :).

Option B could be good. It should be like a mixture between overlord and Ilos, a scary large abandond city, with plenty of areas to explore and some really tense urban warfare.
