Moderators hardly even look here and most topics in need of a lock often grow into monsterous properties, besides, I think the limit is 300 pages, not 200.

I think he was referring to that character thread lockdown about a week ago. They locked any thread related to any main character/LI that was over 50 pages long.

So how did this topic survive? I'm sure it was longer than 50 pages a week backwards.

There can be only one conclusion. Devs told to save this topic because they favour Liara over every other character in Mass Effect.

Hmm, I doubt it's that. To me, it looks like all of these topics are as they used to be. I'm not sure what this event is actually that happened a week ago, but regular character topics seem to be still there.

And yes, they improved her textures for ME2. I wish she would get something to wear fit for an archaeologist.

You're welcome , but you're absolutely right.  Though some actually have suggested she was named Liara because it's one letter off from Lara... okay, those people are on TvTropes, but they're interesting and/or funny people so I'll repeat them here

I was thinking to photoshop Liara's head to Lara's body there for a second, but then I noticed that all Lara pictures show off so much skin it would be chore to colour and shade all the skin in proper tones of blue.

Same, that's kinda why I'm posting a lot less.  And if we have to wait till 2011 for a Liara expansion there is no possible way the devs could make it epic enough to be worth  the wait we had to go through.  ME2 will always be a stain in video game history for me. 

So many great things it could have been, such a spoiled opportunity to do something incredible for the video game industry.  All tossed aside to pull in a few thousand extra shooter fans to pad BW & EA's pockets.

I will end on a postive note though.

Meh, I doubt it.  They aren't going to have two paths with two scripts to record and two sets of, well, everything they have to make for ME3.  Just like everything else, both Para/Rene options will lead you to pretty much the same place.  They'll probably just slice it down the middle and call it done.

If it is done "right" I'll still get it and enjoy it, though I doubt it'll make me feel any better about the opportunity they lost. 

After ME1 I really thought BW had the chance to do something that was going to be a turning point for the video game industry.  I truly believed they had it in them to make something that was going to change the way peole viewed video games as a medium for story telling.  The same sort of way Star Wars was such a huge point in the history of films and sci-fi I thought the ME trilogy was going to be "that" for video games.

They had the perfect set up, all they had to do was follow through with it.  I suppose in the end I only have myself to blame for hyping the possibility to myself and thinking BW had what it takes to pull it off.  Still, even realizing that it was my own fault it doesn't help much.

I'll certainly settle at this point for a Liara expansion but I don't know if we'll ever see that sort of opportunity come up again for the industry, those kind of moments don't come along very often.

ME2 may have been a waste of storyline, but the Expansion could definitely fix some of the plot holes and make way for an epic ME3 story.

Hopefully this expansion is significant.  If this is the case, I wouldn't expect to hear anything about this expansion for months and months and months.  The DLC in the near future will probably be more weapons and armor (besides Kasumi).
