And it was very well-done. :)

No Liara-Shepard smexisness, though? :'(

LOL. I'm just kidding. It was an awesome chapter. I liked Shepard's and Aethyta's conversation and am interested to see Kasumi next chapter. I also loved that Nexus Group. It was sweet. :)

Loved every minute of it. I liked the pacing. Nexus group was cool I liked the character banter...Great to see the Illusive Man used in such an effective way as well as others from outside the core games. Looking forward to reading about Kasumi on your next upload. It's just simply a great read. Excellent job!

I did finally get to read this and it was very well written.  I think you did an excellent job fleshing out Miranda, and the few relationships she does have with people.   I also loved the description of her thought process, and how it differs from most humans.

The melding was well described, and I like how you showed Miranda's growing attraction to Liara within it.  Liara was also in character too...good job!

Well this is my first post in here in ages. Liara is my favorite romance option in the game and LotSB did wonders to progress it as well as give me hopes for the future.

Also, I'll probably become more of a regular here on my favorite character's thread, I'll make my wall of text initiation post about why  I like Liara sometime tomorrow :)

Loved it, jtav. Excellent work. I'm really enjoying the development of the Liara/Miranda romance and relationship, and the description of the latter's thought processes and growing attraction toward the former. As has been said before, the exploration of the meld was very interesting.

Brilliant writing, and I'm eagerly anticipating subsequent chapters! Thanks!

A question that's been sticking for a while for me; would Liara be ready for motherhood?

Obviously, there's an appeal to Shepard and Liara having children after or perhaps sometime during the events of ME3 and the accompanying heartsy sighing and squeeing. Nothing wrong with that. But my mind has a predictable habit of being very analytical.

Now, it's still to be said one way or the other whether or not Liara is able to concieve due to her being in the Maiden stage. But speaking personally, I think it's possible.

Motherhood is a huge responsibility, both physical and psychological. The question of whether or not she would be ready for it in this stage of her life is something I've been debating back and forth with in my head for a while.

Anyone have their own thoughts on the matter?

Well, If Asari are physically and mentally mature enough to be on their own at age 50 and are considered to be adults after 100, I don't think its a stretch that Liara would be able to have children at her age.

I don't think there should be any children involved when there is the threat of total genocide with Liara as the Shadow Broker and Shepard fighting the Reapers. Not the best environment to be having children.

In my opinion, I've never seen being the Shadow Broker and having children as being compatible. It would just require too much attention and put children at risk.  As for being mature enough, Liara wouldn't be raising children alone. If Shepard lives as long as other humans, (which is unknown given the death and resurrection plot)  there's still a good 100+ years to raise children to some level of maturity.

Surely, they won't try to have children while they're fighting the Reapers, Liara clearly says that. But once everything is over, there are no problems. Yes, probably Shepard won't be able to see the children at 100+ age, when they will be like Liara, but we still aren't sure how long Shepard will live.

Anyway, it's a common problem for the Asari, i'm sure that they're good enough to grow up the child also when the father is dead. Because is very likely that the other partner, unless it's another Asari, is dead when the child is in Maiden stage.

What about Liara being the Shadow Broker though? Do you think that she should perhaps leave that job to raise children? Would she even want to have do that given that she called it her dream job?

I think she could. althrough I do question raising a child while as the shadow broker, could be dangerous for the child. Liara also wouldn't be alone about raising the child naturely, Shepard also holds alot of responsebility.

The biggest problem could be the fact that the one the the childs parrents is a special forces soldier, war hero and (ex)specter. While the other have been the biggest information broker in the galaxy and gotten a PH.D.

Talk about high expectations! ^_^

Given what we already know of Liara I think she would embrace motherhood with all the caring , knowledge and devotion she's got. She'd make an excellent mom, no question. Yes I think she's ready but the Reaper threat would need to first be resolved and it would be nice if she and Shepard had some 'alone time' since they've just recently reunited. As far as her SB role is concerned I think Liara is well capable of setting her priorities

I think Liara herself would ask the question of whether or not she was ready. I think if Liara were your normal asari, she probably would wait a couple of centuries. But Liara is not your normal asari. She might be the most "human" asari in the game. She's matured mentally far quicker than what I'd expect is the regular pace at which it happens in asari Maidens.

I think the main thing that is open to discussion is prioritization. It's probable that Liara would ask Feron and perhaps additional top-level agents to assist in maintaining the network, but I find myself doubting that it would be like Liara to leave it like that indefinitely. She doesn't like letting people do everything for her.

Granted, becoming a parent changes most people to differing degrees, so who knows? Maybe she would hand over the active reigns to someone else for a protracted amount of time.

I have no doubts she could do it now... but I also believe she's too intelligent to have kids now considering what is going on.

Also... considering what Cerberus did to Shepard to bring him/her back... I can see him living quite a bit longer than normal. At least more than Miranda and at least, and that's half again as long as the normal humn. So 200-300 year range.

Could Liara even truly "retire" from the role of the SB without it involving her death? I know she could give Feron the reins over the network but I don't think he's truly qualified to run it forever (althrough I wish he were), and if she gave to it some random agent(s). They might become paranoid and thinks she's a security risk because she knows the real idientity of the SB.

My point is. Wouldn't the fact that she's the SB endanger her for the rest of her life? Sure she could give Feron the reins and ask him to find a succsesor, but that would put his life in danger (which I don't think she would like).
