Chapter Two of mine is up as well. Reposting because I had the misfortune of posting in the middle of last night's...discussion.

A question that's been sticking for a while for me; would Liara be ready for motherhood?
Obviously, there's an appeal to Shepard and Liara having children after or perhaps sometime during the events of ME3 and the accompanying heartsy sighing and squeeing. Nothing wrong with that. But my mind has a predictable habit of being very analytical.
Now, it's still to be said one way or the other whether or not Liara is able to concieve due to her being in the Maiden stage. But speaking personally, I think it's possible.
Motherhood is a huge responsibility, both physical and psychological. The question of whether or not she would be ready for it in this stage of her life is something I've been debating back and forth with in my head for a while.
Anyone have their own thoughts on the matter?

Well, If Asari are physically and mentally mature enough to be on their own at age 50 and are considered to be adults after 100, I don't think its a stretch that Liara would be able to have children at her age.
I don't think there should be any children involved when there is the threat of total genocide with Liara as the Shadow Broker and Shepard fighting the Reapers. Not the best environment to be having children.
In my opinion, I've never seen being the Shadow Broker and having children as being compatible. It would just require too much attention and put children at risk. As for being mature enough, Liara wouldn't be raising children alone. If Shepard lives as long as other humans, (which is unknown given the death and resurrection plot) there's still a good 100+ years to raise children to some level of maturity.

Surely, they won't try to have children while they're fighting the Reapers, Liara clearly says that. But once everything is over, there are no problems. Yes, probably Shepard won't be able to see the children at 100+ age, when they will be like Liara, but we still aren't sure how long Shepard will live.

I think Liara herself would ask the question of whether or not she was ready. I think if Liara were your normal asari, she probably would wait a couple of centuries. But Liara is not your normal asari. She might be the most "human" asari in the game. She's matured mentally far quicker than what I'd expect is the regular pace at which it happens in asari Maidens.
I think the main thing that is open to discussion is prioritization. It's probable that Liara would ask Feron and perhaps additional top-level agents to assist in maintaining the network, but I find myself doubting that it would be like Liara to leave it like that indefinitely. She doesn't like letting people do everything for her.
Granted, becoming a parent changes most people to differing degrees, so who knows? Maybe she would hand over the active reigns to someone else for a protracted amount of time.
