Dark ritual with Liara?

Wouldn't that make it a blue ritual?

Oh, hey Andro! I was reading The End Of The Beginning today. It's good and I'm enjoying it, but I do have a couple issues with it, which I can offer critique on, if you want.

Always! Critique is an excellent tool if used properly. Shoot me a PM!!!Image IPB

I recently handed out some advice from the stands about writing and dealing with criticism. Well, now I get to follow my own advice:

Chapter 1: http://social.biowar...842/blog/10669/

Chapter 2: http://social.biowar...842/blog/10670/

I'll post to fanfiction.net as well once their 2-day wait period ends. However, I find it much easier to read on this site (the black-on-white and centered text on FF makes me want to claw my eyes out).

This probably qualifies as "M", but less so than what you can see in the game anyway.

I've previously written for a living (though not fiction) and am very used to red ink, so criticism is welcome. If you think "that person would never say/do that", please let me know. I likely won't make edits at this point (as I'm still forging ahead on the rest of it) but I'll certainly take all feedback into account. Thanks!

You can get light-on-dark text on FF.net and are able to adjust the width of the #storytext div (this requires Javascript to be enabled). When text is centred it is at the author's request.

Edit: And you can easily get centred text on social.bioware - it won't show up in the edit form though.

Something tells me it might involves a tongue, but I don't want to put any more thought into that.

I think that had Aethyta been involved in Liara's life while she was growing up, Liara would have taken a different path in her life, both career and character wise.

Here's why; when Benezia was raising Liara, she did not talk about her daughter's pureblood heritage. And most likely, Liara had to deal with ridicule from asari her age either to her face, or as I suspect; behind her back. Which is probably worse. To help her escape from this --in addition to other reasons--  she focused herself on her studies of the Protheans, leading to her continued disinterest in becoming involved with the commandos or politics.

I think, that had Aethyta been in an active role while Liara had been growing up, she would have tought her daughter not to take crap from anyone about her asari parentage. Liberal applications of kicks in the quad and the like. I think she would have encouraged Liara to be the best she could be in the public eye if only to spite those who looked down on her. I can also imagine Liara being interested in becoming an asari commando, after surely listening to Aethyta's stories of her own mother and her father's Battlemaster days and being enthralled by them, much like she was enthralled by the legends of the Protheans.

I think this would have led her into the asari commandos. She would most likely be far younger than the usual asari who enters service, and would probably have to deal with her peers and superiors not taking her seriously. Similar to her academic career in that way.

I can see the point you're making but you've got to consider that even without the influence of Aethyta Liara did in fact become involved in Shepard's group. The actions of Shepard's group were not all that different from being a merc or commando, afterall Liara did do battle with commandos, mercs and more, likely doing more battle than your average commando or merc and she made the change somewhat easily.

Only up to 2018 pages!? Lol j/k nice job guys. Guess it’s quiet now that we got what we wanted…other than ME3 lol. Also nice to still see some old faces around posting, I was never that much of a hard core poster. But just a heads up, working on a new piece with my 3 favorite female game characters, so you can guess who one is going to be ;) will be my first combined character fan art…

What I did is put my story into the Mircrosoft Notepad. I then put spaces between each line, and copied and pasted that into the forums.

That is an interesting fact; but how is it related to my comment? Also, you really, really don't want to use Notepad.

From the poll I made it seems most people prefer the spacer background (mostly combined with warhero) or earthborn (more spread out there). While the spacer background is dominated by both maleshep and femsheps, earthborn however seems to be mostly dominated by femsheps.

Strange since my femshep who romanced Liara is also an earthborn! :?

Guess people prefer earthborn to their femshep when romancing Liara.

NOTE: Still gathering data so I can compare to the other ME1 LI.

watch videos of Liara in ME2 .

have to Liara in ME1 is the better ..

In ME1 you have a Woman Unsually Smart very Sincere in her actions that Stumbles with her use of words .....

In ME2 you Have a Liara that is just Driven to the point of Bitterness and Hardness , even all that is unstandleabe i was still hoping to see here stumbe with her words when talking with Shepard.

Instead she express her ove and concern by treating him/her like a pawn to be used in Discard...

So yea ME1 Liara is the better one. IMHO

When did Liara treat Shepard like a pawn in ME2?

I didn't mind that she became a bit more eloquent, confident, or whatever, in ME2.

I would have preferred if she had remained more like she was in ME 1. For that though, the story would probably have needed to be quite different, which I also would have preferred. (ME 2 should have been a proper continuation of the story of ME 1.)

But with ME 2 being as it is, and with the story and Liara's character predetermined by it, LotSB certainly did a great job to salvage her role from the bad writing in ME 2. Not only does it properly explain her behaviour from the main game, it also shows that much of her character from ME 1 is still there.
