A quick question regarding the decision with the Racni queen. We all know Liara will always vouch for releasing it and when you choose to kill it she will say a comment and give Shepard a chance to reconsider his option and perhaps make a diffrent choice.

But anyway. Would the choice to kill the Racni queen affect Shepard and Liara's relationship? I always felt that the choices never having any affect on the relationship (any of them) was a pitty, but I think it's due to the limits of the media (lack of resources and so on)  rather than poor writing. As for my reason to ask this question is this. Aside from having helped the commander kill her own mother, she also wachted Shepard commit a rather cold and merciless act. I could imagine that after these events Liara might be skeptical/bitter towards Shepard, not so much because of the first act (killing Benezia) but the second thing Shepard did.

I ask this because I finally pulled myself together and continue write that fanfic I promised to make back when I had holiday!

I imagine that this would have caused Liara to take on a more pragmatic, bitter point of view as, given her recent experiences, she would understand why Shepard did what he did back then.

Maybe in ME2 she might look back and say "it was the logcial thing to do" but even then, I don't fully buy it.

But back onboard the Normandy-SR1 when she wasn't so jaded? She certainly wouldn't approve of it.

Hm, I could see them getting in an argument with Liara deciding she understood what Shepard did, but didn't agree.



That or you could have Shepard have freed the Queen if you're having trouble with reconciling the action with a Liara romance.

I can't imagine she'd do more than bring it up in an argument. It wouldn't be ground breaking stuff I'm sure.

Not necessarily -- the Council could be replaced, meanwhile the Rachni queen represented her entire species

If it's the work of a fan I wouldn't really look down on it. Sure it might not capture the "feel" of Liara (and perhaps ME) but the artwork itself is well drawn.

But if this is some sort of sketch or something for Redemption then just NOOOOOOOO!

Giving it another go at drawing Liara. I'm going to be trying to recreate the original Liara concept with the current Liara. So far, it's proving difficult to make the face accurate.

It is fan work, and yes, it is well made. But as you said;

And upon thinking on Valerio's decisions on the names of Liara's children, I've come to wonder whether or not she would be comfortable naming one of her daughters "Benezia".

On the one hand, you have the aspect of her likely wanting to honor her mother's memory and respect of one's ancestors that archeology brings.

Then you have another aspect of her character, the fact that early on in her life, and as it progressed, there were definite pressures and expectations placed on her due to the fact that she was Benezia's daughter. I think it's likely she would be hesitant to put the unavoidable expectations that come with picking a distinguished leader of the asari people, not to mention her own mother, as a namesake.

And I also think it's highly likely that Benezia's name has also garnered infamy since the days of ME1.

Well, Liara's more sad during the ME2 times. She's lost her mother, she lost some friends, a bleak future, etc. Now things are a bit better, but she still worries about Shepard, who's always travelling far away for weeks or months. The idea is that she's thinking about Shepard, who's been gone for 3 months.

But hearing what you were trying to go for. Change her facial expression from outright sad to more worried/concerned.
