The lines of Liara's crest are again, spot on. And it has great perspective too. The thing that stands out the most, for me personally, is how fluffy Shep's hair looks.

This looks good, but it doesn't seem to be related to the thread's topic.

Strange, this used to be a place where it was primarily about Liara, but also about other stuff.

Well, if you're asking for help with something or ocassionally showing off something cool, sure. But it can get a little spam-y when one simply posts something off-topic out of the blue. That's the rules it generally went by.

Ex: 150 year life span for humans = 1000 years for asari.
1000/7 = about 150. I wonder if this was intentional

Probably you're right but I don't like this idea. Humans are like dogs for Asari? Ewww...pacer90 wrote...
Realized something the other day, humans are like dog years compared to asari.

This will, of course, be of limited use when the mapping "species A years" -> "species B years" is not linear.

Not what he said - dog years are related to life span and life expectancy; they describe the level of maturity of the animal (dog) to a human who may not be intimately familiar with the life spans of dogs.

Yeah that's the discussion I wanted to start. Obviously a 2 year old human child is not on the same level of maturity as a 14 year old asari, physically or mentally.
I imagine the stages were brought about to explain how asari pace their maturity.

it's safe to assume that asari grow to physical maturity at about the
same rate as humans.
Since the dawn of their species, asari have had time. I imagine that by now, an asari isn't expected to be able to support herself until she reaches the age of fifty.
Now, I believe that this is due to how they were raised, like I said previously, the asari have always had time. Compared to asari, humans must cram life's lessons and responsibilities on their offspring at a breakneck pace. And resultedly, we age mentally most likely at a faster rate than asari offspring. A human eighteen year old would probably be at a far different maturity level than an asari eighteen year old.
However, were an asari to be raised as humans would raise a human child, I think that the mental progression would be comparable, if not the same.

My personal theory on the subject is that asari are raised slower, if that makes sense. Well, for instance, take a five year old about a hundred years ago. Out of neccecity, they were a lot more mature than five year olds today are. It's because they were raised at a faster pace. And before I go on, let me point out that unless specifically told otherwise, I think

I think thats the case regarding the subject.
Asari proberly mature as fast as humans physicaly, but mentally far diffrent.

Thats very nice. Great pose.
A little tip of mine...You should try and get the Background ready as soon as possible...ideally before you start with the character/s...because the Background defines the lightning on your character/s and you then will be able to use those Backgroundcolors while drawing the character.

Well, I won't be doing the actual colouring for a while. I'm more of just roughing the colours for reference and to play around. As for the background, I'm thinking of probably somewhere on the Shadow Broker base, though I don't know where. Maybe the couch Feron is sitting on. But the thing is, my 360 is dead, so I'm trying to look through videos of a good location.

Yeah I can't imagine the asari needing to go to school by the age of five, and being done by the age of 18. Imagine if they acted like a 70 year old human when they were 70, they'd spent their whole lives acting like the elderly.
With a lifespan that long however, it's not hard to see individual asari progressing at faster or slower rates, much like humans do. However with their extended lifespan the effects could be far more pronounced than in humans. Imagine Liara compared to another 109 year old asari.

Fantastic work at blending the early concept Liara with the final one.
