Asari can move from one stage of their life to another when they have enough experience or when they want to, i'm sure it's in the codex somewhere... Image IPB

What d'ya think...will Liara and Shep take a nice Vacation after all the Reaper business is done? and Where?

I guess they would go on a sightseeing tour throughout the galaxy, Liara showing Shep some Asari culture and history, while Shep shows her some human culture and history.

I replayed LotSB again. This time I played it just after finishing Liara's hacking quests, then went back later to arrange the date with Liara, then had the date with Liara after finishing the suicide mission. It seemed much better this time, thanks partly to the subtle changes in dialogue, but mainly to the people in this thread giving me a new perspective on it. Thanks peeps.

It still doesn't seem likely to me that Liara will be a team-mate in ME3, and I'm still p!ssed about that, but I can see now what direction BW are trying to take the romance. It's good enough for me, and a big improvement over the shambolic events of vanilla ME2.

Ah. Asari babies develop fast then.

And it's good to know you're on the Liara love-train, onelifecrisis. :P

Yeah Earth, Thessia etc. See where the my Shep grew up and where she did. But the main part of the vacation will be when they go back to Ilos! Let her explore the ruins, stay there for a few weeks. Hide from the galaxy as it sorts itself out.

Ok this seems to be the right place to ask:

Long time Liara romancer here, have my Paragon Vanguard who romanced her all the way through LOTSB and loved it.

Just had to ask though since I was just playing ME1 again:

Liara in ME2 and LOTSB seems to have a much more mature, and assured way of speaking. Also in ME1 she seemed to pause a lot while talking, and not just stuttering either. Her line: No I just meant that you would be an interesting specimen for an indepth study... NO WAIT thats even worse still makes me smirk.

What I am trying to get at is that Liara seems to have a presences and confidence to her voice in LOTSB especially, where in ME1 she seemed almost part of the background when talking.

Romancing and spending time with Shepard should gave her more confidence as shown in "Redemption". Also, three years of mourning and fighting the Shadow Broker, I think, left little room for self-doubt.

I loved the ME1 menu. The vigil theme, the blue colours, the montage of all the important characters. That combined with the characters stand and look, gave you a sense of optimisem, but also the feeling that challenges and tough decisions would lie ahead.

A great way to kick off an awesome adventure.

Althrough while it's a good idea to complete LOTSB ASAP from a gameplay perspective, I would never do it. Since completeting it would remove or atleast greatly diminish, the point behind the picture scene.

Actually I liked the picture scene much better with LotSB completed. There's no dialogue in that scene, so I think it's quite open to interpretation.

May I ask why? Not that I have a problem with it, I would just like to know your reason.

You know, I have to wonder if Liara is Benezia's only child.

She was at least eight hundred or so when she had Liara, that's a long time for an asari to go without having a single child, especially for such a prominent figure.

On the other hand, asari are encouraged to mate with other species,... which means one child per asari should keep the population stable; I can't imagine the average being anywhere near two children per asari (population would double every generation...)

Certainly :)

If Shepard has had - or even just arranged - the date with Liara, then him looking at the picture before hitting the relay can be interpreted as him strengthening his resolve to come back and see her again. This is uplifting.

If LotSB has not yet been done then Shepard staring at the photo is, to me, a guy struggling with a broken heart or, worse, a guy in denial (Liara at this point has shown zero interest in him). This is depressing.

I agree. And I also like the way a new game is started in ME 1. A great start to a fantastic game.

Why is why I prefer LOTSB post-suicide mission. ME2 is the second the chapter. And the second chapter is usually the darkest one. With the characters at their lowest point and nothing is going smooth, resulting in the possiblility that the story's romance sub-plot might have a tragic ending.
