Alright. Here is what i've been up to the past couple of days, since i've only recently gotten my copies of ME1 and ME2 back.

I spent hours playing through ME1 trying to romance Liara with my FemShep only to realise at the last minute I accidentally messed it up. I had no save files from before I messed it up. So, I had to start the game over again.

I spent 15 straight hours playing through to get the cute cut scene before Ilos. Fangirl screamed so loudly i'm surprised the neighbours didn't hear.

Then I imported that character into ME2. Played through. Stayed loyal. Played the Liara DLC. Fangirl screamed so loudly i'm surprised the neighbours didn't hear.

Then died a little inside when she wasn't recruitable again.

Liara is great. She needs to be in #3, and needs to be a LI again. Preferably a recruitable one. Oh and she also needs to not get killed off. Unless it's a choice. I'd like the chance to save her

I'm also loving some of the art posted here

"EDIT" Stumbled across something on the mass effect character page on tvtropes that made go .

Liara apperently has this trope attached to her character along with a comment.

"Religous bruiser: In the first game, at least, it's implied that she is quite religious."

Since when does Liara ever display signs of being religious?

Sorry to hear that.  I felt it was a good start.

I also think you should keep it light-hearted but slowly have the tone of the story become more and more serious.

Since when does Liara ever display signs of being religious?

You could interpret her frequent "goddess" exclamations as a sign of religiosity (e.g. "Goddess have mercy; the entire colony must have been ... transformed" when you take her to UNC:Colony of the Dead). You'd have thought that a strong atheist would pick her exclamations a bit more carefully.
Of course, most people use phrases like that ("Good lord!", "Grüß Gott",etc) without necessarily being particularly religious. So the claim is plausible, but the evidence is weak at best

Alot of people use god/lord in phrases (like you said) so using that as a base for claiming someone is religous is silly at best.

I absolutely loved this. You got the story going in a way that was in character for Kaidan, gave a good introduction for Shepard and was a general, all-around good read with laughs.

Maybe in a later fan fic I'll collide Andrew with that... that thing you posted earlier looking at Liara. BTW all original characters are based on friends/people I've dealt with FYI. I'm having way too much fun weaving them all into the story right now.

Re religion: Anyone can edit tvtropes, it's plausible and "By the goddess" seems to be her signature exclamation so this shouldn't be a surprise. Proof:

I agree. I will not pre-order ME 3 anyway. If either Shepard or Liara or both would be killed in ME 3 without the chance for the player to prevent it and get a proper happy end, then I would certainly not buy the game (or at least not before the price drops significantly).

I've meant to ask this question for a while now: What would you guys think of Liara's friendship with Feron being played up in Mass Effect 3 for players who did not go through the romance with her? (I'm not suggesting there be a romance between the two of them, just an added emphasis on their friendship if she isn't romantically involved with Shepard.) I would personally hate it if Liara were portrayed as forever waiting for Shepard to come around and finally romance her even if  the player never pursued that romance and has a different love interest besides. I think that would really hurt her character.

Why not show that they have a good friendship regardless of her status with Shepard?

But LOTSB does hint at Liara having some feelings for Feron if Shepard never romanced her.
