Btw, did anyone here see Peter Molyneux's DGC comments on how the hardcore audience has limited the Fable series, and that they are designing Fable III in a way that they think they can sell 5 million copies instead of the 3.5 or so they sold with the first two games?
I wonder how much of that same philosophy was at work at Bioware when they developed ME2, and if this is an industry wide trend that will slowly see the end of the hardcore roleplaying game. Because lets face it, all of us here on this Liara thread are pretty much hardcore roleplayers. And the same is true with all the character fan threads. In the future will games be designed less and less for us, and more and more for the casual market?
Definitely, I think that was always the intention to appeal to the shooter crowd more, and increase generated revenue. The sad thing is, is that this has come at the cost of alot of the RPG elements that I loved in ME1.
/sigh, it's moments like these when I just can't stand how the bottom line is always the dollar
