Crimm, I've just popped over to your deviantArt account and had a look at your journal entries. This caught my eye:
I'll just pop over to the BioWare social forums and ask there. I found a Liara fangroup that will pretty much bend over backwards to do anything involving Liara.
So true! ;-)

I bought mine from a comic book dealer on eBay who's based in the US. It arrived on Wednesday, and the guy dispatched it last week. No import tax or anything.

Hah, yeah.
It wasn't nearly as difficult to do as I thought it would be.
Although I did have Liara and Ashley trying to occupy the same space at one point. Some really weird texture meshing going on there.

So, I take it some more Liara pics are in the pipeline? Your last one with your Shepard was cool. Can't wait to see more of Liara!

I got the cheapest shipping as well, you should be recieving yours soon.Crimmsonwind wrote...
Same here, TFAW. I did opt for cheapest shipping so I'm not expecting lightning-fast deliveries anyway, I'm just so tempted to find the issues online though when everybody already has them. But, I'll wait. It's in the name of love.
Although I believe that it ships through priority mail, if thats true then it shouldnt take more then three days for us to get it. I dont know why it takes us over a week...

I've got another couple of cracked out comics bouncing around in my head, and I'll probably end up doing some more serious stuff. Gotta figure out how to do Liara justice.LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...
I've actually seen when the character models do mesh sometimes. Creepy!

Awesome, I love looking at some Liara fanart. Some of the pieces of her on DA are utterly beautiful, and my favourite Liara artist is probably Metal-Dragon-Kiryu. He draws her perfectly.

"Reunited" is my personal favourite, I love the look on Liara's face as she's staring deeply into his FemShep's eyes. Such a sweet, loving expression on Liara's face. In only the reunion in-game could have been something like that!

I agree and I also added that deviant to my list. There's some great stuff about other Bioware games in there as well.

Yeah, I definitely want to hug her, I hate when Shepard lets her look sad.Crimmsonwind wrote...

- We are all crazy about our blue asari goddess -- with an emphasis on crazy in places; and
- There's not a damn thing wrong about that.
I'll start by bringing the optimists down -- only a little, I hope, and only because I believe in BN/GN in that order. I really do not expect to get Liara on board before ME3 at all. Nor do I think that my lost playthrough where I accidentally locked in Kaidan would have him on board, either. Why? Because I don't think that's very good storytelling on Drew and Mac's part. Trilogies always stretch the love story across the whole series, from what I've seen... okay, sometimes it's beyond contrived how they keep people apart. (Witness Ronmione in HP, where anyone with no brain cells can tell they're getting together by the third book yet JK keeps them from kissing until the very last battle scene ... with some ridiculous contrivances in my humble opinion.) But I seriously think that in this case, with the whole 'consequences for cheating/rewards for staying faithful' spiel that they gave in the run-up, they had to have planned a potential confrontation for the cheaters in the third game, though the reward for faithful players could be the ability to instantly recruit them for the final game, or what have you... maybe getting a bonus scene to counteract the lack of challenge scene?
As for the fact that Liara has no reason not to drop anything and run after Shepard... well, if Illium turns into Omega overnight because she leaves three dozen people hanging, that could be a reason. Liara seems totally devoted to Shepard in the comic, and ME1, and if you break through her shell in ME2, but she's always seemed responsible enough to not leave a mess behind no matter what her heart tells her to do. (The question then becomes, what kind of mess and what kinds of loose ends would be left to take care of. I'm probably more easily satisfied than other people, just as long as the DLC lets my LiLi cry out all her pent-up emotions on my shoulder while I'l holding her in my arms. And has whoever did the Tali loyalty mission doing all the writing because it was so well done I was jealous
There, I've said my piece, and I'll clarify that I still want happyLiara, or at least recoveringLiara, and emotionalShep, and not only that, I genuinely expect it to happen. I just think we need to wait for the third game to have her on board. (And I'd go on about the whole 'Y'know you really shouldn't have someone you love serving next to you on a ship of the line' deal, but I know, it's ignored in every RPG in existence... I just very nearly joined the Navy myself so I tend to overthink stuff like that a bit.)
Now as for the pessimists who say that Liara was ignored intentionally? I'm not sure how to allay your concerns, because I find it impossible to believe that. I mean, all the anciliary details are there -- the two asari sniping at each other about the 'pureblood' term, the matriarch who well could be Liara's second parent at the bar (with timing pretty explicitly exactly right, that's a Chekov's Gun if I ever heard one), the Blue Rose of Illium quest (with, apparently, offendedShep at the lifespan comment), the asari with the locket of her late human partner, the turian and asari in the Citadel store... these all are screaming at us Liaramancers even if we aren't looking for them. Plus like them or not, the comic's existence and general outline tell us how far Liara went to go for Shepard's dead body, even before she knew there was a chance of bringing her/him back. This does not tell me 'Eff this character, let's make 'em fall in love with a brand new character because we don't care.'
As for 'she's dark just because dark is in'? I really don't expect someone to be sunshine and blue roses after seeing someone they love apparently get blown up -- or asphyxiate, depending on how clearly she could see from the escape pod what happened. And this is before what she has to do to get Shepard back from the Shadow Broker, where someone she may feel cruddy about treating like dirt -- I think I would -- gets captured or killed in the cause of recovering a dead body of someone she loves. (I think that Liara loving Shepard has pretty much become canon due to the events of the story, no matter what Shepard's feelings are, because it's a little difficult to explain her actions otherwise. Not that we should mind, or anything -- nor should Ash/Kaidan/Tali/Garrus/ME2mate-mancers, unrequited love is still love, right? And vice versa.) She's acting dark, too, it's pretty obvious to me and most people who hear her voice when she says 'because I couldn't bear to let you go'. But she's earned some turmoil, no matter how much I want my Shep to be able to kiss it all away.
Okay, thus ends my biweekly filibuster. With one more note, remember, everyone, I said we up there. I love my LiLi as much as nearly everyone here, to the point of slapping a rather rude Talimancing co-worker in the face with a glove and challenging said co-worker to an honor duel for my LiLi. (What makes that insane is, it's 70 degrees, or 21 degrees Canadian

Also, Canadians use celsius to measure temperature too? Hurray for that. And also word "ME2mate-mancer" should be included if Mass Effect dictionary was ever made.

You make good points about the Liara DLC and her joining us. I don't expect this to happen. There's not much to do anyways after the game is beaten and the suicide mission is over. I'd rather have her join in ME3 and have her as a squad mate for the full game.
Random pic..

I have too many Liara pictures.

Well said JaylaClark. I was freakin' out when I saw Shep flailing in space, I can't imagine how Liara would be feeling. She'd be clawing at the window trying to get out there, I think.
If you've read the second issue of Redemption, you can see how upset she is watching the Normandy blow up and Shepard die from her escape pod. There's a pic of her looking horrified as the Collectors hit the ship for the last time.
