OneBadAssMother, thanks for yours and your wife's support! ;-)

No problem =)

However, she was very disappointed during the ME2 reunion. And went for Garrus instead.

She would like to complete her Shepard story with Liara but it seems it was severely downplayed compared to other romances hence she went 'elsewhere'.

I was the one who got her into ME (let alone Bioware) so heh, I do feel bad if she ever gets disappointed with any aspect of the game.

Does someone have a video link of the Omega 4 relay Liara scene with Femshep handy? Whenever I see it in game, my Femshep stands there staring blankly with no emtion and then just turns around abruptly. I know I've seen phrases like "looks at the picture and smiles" but I've never seen any of my Femsheps do that.

Nope, I don't think there's a smile with the picture scene at all. I think that's just a rumour that's been perpetuated by the ME Wiki and such. It doesn't happen as far as I can see.

OneBadAssMother, has your wife ever seen this?

It explains alot, and shows that Liara cares deeply for Shepard still. Liara initially seems distant due to her fear that Shep will hate her for handing his/her corpse to Cerberus. It's quite moving, and Liara's facial expressions and her voice show just how much she still cares for Shepard.

Small excerpt from Chapter One of the fic in my sig which I will post a little later this morning. The first part is the Prologue.

“What are you thinking?” He asked her with a smile.
Liara couldn’t help but let a small laugh escape her lips at the look in his delicious eyes. “Obviously not the same thing you are John Shepard!” She exclaimed.
His eyes glittered as he smiled and shrugged his broad shoulders. “I can’t help it.” He stated plainly taking the mug from her hand and taking a sip of the hot tea.
Liara watched him, lifting her hand to use her index finger to trace his forehead just under his short-cropped hair. “I’m thinking that the Goddess has blessed me not once… but twice… by giving you back to me.”
“You never lost me Liara.” John told her.
“You know… you know what I mean John.” She said softly.
“Can we not dwell on the fact that I died?” He said with a grin. “It’s very depressing.”
“Why can’t you be serious?” Liara asked him with a small smile.
“I can be serious.” He told her. “How many times have we melded since we came up here Liara?”
“Four.” She answered without hesitation.
Shepard nodded. “And still you doubt what I feel?”
“No!” Liara rasped. “No John… never! I… I question what I have done to deserve you.”

She has (and she actually showed me that - I never found it) but it was not enough unfortunately.

I do enjoy gaming together with my wife with Bioware games. I do not however enjoy her disappointments. Hence well, meh, might as well put in my vote too, not just one on behalf of my wife. Bring Liara back in ME3!

That's a shame that it wasn't enough. Although, we're all pretty much certain that there will be alot more intimate dialogue with Liara, particularly if she's your love interest, in the rumoured Liara DLC. Just the wait that's killing me!

AL, looks like your fic is going to be great! When is it going to be set, by the way? After the suicide mission when Shep goes to see Liara again?

Well that's a relief, I always thought there something wrong with all my Femshep's faces.
The picture scene just makes me all melancholic because it makes me think back to all the things you couldn't say or do on Illium.  Even just having Shepard whisper "Liara" wistfully and touch the picture with her hand would have mitigated that a lot and probably made me just burst into tears.
Kind of jarring too going from staring at the picture to talking to that freaking ass TIM.  No reason Shepard couldn't have gotten on the FTL comm to talk with Liara instead of that bonehead.  By that point I think you've pretty well proven that you're faithful and that you're coming back for her.
Same thing for the Ashley/Kaiden people, even if they couldn't get ahold of them directly, they could tell Anderson something all emotional to pass along.

Yep, the lack of romantic interaction with the ME1 LIs is horrible, and I've seen alot of people complaining about it. It's even worse for us Liara lovers, as we can go see her at any time but never say anything romantic to her. Confident that will be rectified in the DLC, though.

I would have loved to be able to get on the FTL comm to talk to Liara before the suicide mission. Hell, as I described before something like the view switching to Liara's office on Illium and her staring sadly at the sky, thinking of Shepard would have been very powerful. All will be forgiven though if we get romantic and emotional content in the DLC.

Is this DLC confirmed or not? I don't want give wifey false hopes!

Heh, I just find it weird really that I never had any storyline quabbles in ME1 or 2 but it seems wifey is rather disappointed. Perhaps Shepard is canonically male, and romanced Ash! :P

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it's heavily rumoured.  Plus there are files named "LiaraDLC" in the game and hidden audio rumoured to be part of the DLC.

The Prologue has been up for a week or so I think. Just posted Chapter One. The link is in my sig. I apologize in advance... my writing for my other books averages between 40-60 pages per chapter... so this was very short. It begins six weeks after the Suicide mission and will continue forward from there. My original series is graphic in nature and you will probably catch some references to this nature in my writings for this fic as well. Nothing blatant mind you... but innuendo since it is fanfiction.net. I will probably finished Book Four of my current series and then work on this for a while to give me some time to do some research and wait for the comics to finish. Book Four of my series is on Chapter 67 and nearly complete so I shoul dbe able to jump right into this fic soon after.

I will warn you however... I do very much like the Miranda character... so I will probably move in that direction with both Shep and Liara much later in the story. The adult version will be put up on my Yahoo page but if any of you have read any of my stuff you will know that I am a hopeless romantic and my characters do not jump from relationship to relationship.

Well enough ranting and enjoy.

Well....

What Luke said. There's been no confirmation of the DLC yet, but there are hidden files in the game entitled "liara_dlc_leadin". All of the other rumoured DLC has now been announced, except for the Liara DLC which I imagine will be next. With Redemption Issue 4 being released in a matter of weeks, I'd imagine the announcement will be soon. Also, when Redemption was announced, they did say it would tie-in to DLC being produced with ME2. Pretty strong evidence of there being Liara DLC.

AL, your fic sounds like it's going to be pretty cool. Looking forward to reading the rest of it!

Morning, Crimm!

We were discussing this in the group last night, and I thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention here. Do you think it's completely heartwarming and sweet how un-asari like Liara acts in Redemption and ME2? From what Liara tells us about the asari in ME1, she says that they take a philosophical approach to their partners dying, and have to accept it and move on. Not Liara, she deliberately went out of her way and put her own safety on the line just to get Shepard's CORPSE back. That's some dedication and devotion. That's why her line "Because I couldn't let you go" in ME2 is so special to me, because it shows how much Shepard means to Liara. Love her!

I felt so bad for her when she said that!

Now that you mention it though, she's definitely forgoing all that asari philosophy. Aww...

Yep, it's definitely very sweet in how un-asari like she's acting, and the lengths she's going to in order to save Shepard's life.

Well that isnt totally suprising, that she acts out of the asari way, shes still very young and its not like Shepards death was something she could prepare herself for it came out of nowhere and their relationship was just starting.

Nothing confirmed no, only the wishful ramblings of the Liara group around here.  If it helps you can tell your wife there are lots of folks disappointed in the ME1 Li carry overs.  Not much but it is something. :(

Did you notice that someone from BioWare finally showed up in the forum again and posted repeatedly in one of the Kasumi threads? It's funny how predictable it is. Trying to quell doubts and criticism before release, so that people won't refrain from purchasing. Then, once they got the money, nothing but deafening silence. Just watch, as soon as ME 3 is around the corner, they'll start talking again, assuring everyone they'll be satisfied. <_<

It is of course not surprising to me, because it's become pretty much the standard, and therefore it can't really disappoint me either anymore. Still it is somewhat sad to see how BioWare has changed over the last few years, which of course is also evident in ME 2 as a whole.

Yeah I noticed that as well.  They suckered me once already, I won't be doing it again.

No Kasumi for me, with no dialogue it hardly seems worth spending money on.  Last thing we needed was another new character, especially another Zaeed with nothing to say.

I can't really rationalize giving BW more money for anything till they at least attempt to fix their mistakes with ME2.

I dunno, I've had devs post in a thread a decent chunk of time before release. Maybe they're all busy. I've been derailing a thread with some massive amounts of help for a day and a half now, it should have been locked down long ago XD

Maybe everyone's focused on the Game Developers Conference or something. Maybe they'll give us some good news.

I dont know when it comes to DLC its never advisable to get hopes to high, personally I dont expect much from the 5 missions the Hammerhead has included aside from blow up Geth/mercs/something else.

With Kasumi its quite the same and her flash grenade power at least sounds useless so far.

/shrug We haven't really seen hide nor hair of them since release.  Even Priestly doesn't come around to troll the love threads anymore.  I don't really care if they come and comment on specific issues, especially Liara since anything they say would only incite rage from me, but I would be interested to see how they thought ME2 went.

What they liked, what they didn't what they thought they did well, what they wish they could go back and fix.  Would be interesting to see a kind of "state of the game" post from to get their thoughts on ME2.
