Yeah, I'm trying not to get too excited or anything. But it's nice to dream. -.-
Yeah. /sigh
I actually had the urge to fire up ME2 this morning and play my ME1 import that I just finished not long ago. Then I came to the Liara thread and remembered she won't be there for me anyway. Think I'll go play WoW or something instead.

While we all can agree on the fact that this whole cut content is out of window, the general direction of Liaras story is still there,as I said quite a few pages earlier so far they just changed the order of how things happen.
So the whole Liara ascending to the Shadow Brokers throne and with that subsequently out of the squadmate roles for ME3 is still there, while I still would argue any information network in the galaxy wont do anything against the reaper fleet.

Guess you can always hope, actually I admire the degree of optimism some people around here have when it comes to a potential Liara DLC,I just fear they might be in for yet another big disapointment.
I think so too, unfortunately. All signs so far indicate that the BioWare/EA DLC policy has not changed at all. Fallout 3 proved that you can also develop DLC with content, quality and length (even OA wasn't all that bad). But BioWare/EA still follow the same route as most developers: Minimize effort, milk the masses. I don't see why a Liara DLC should be completely different all of a sudden, if it even happens.
The only realistic chance for quality content would be if, as some here suggest, it was actually developed during the main game but cut out either because of the comics or simply to make additional bucks. Both reasons would be an outrage in my opinion, but at least in that case, the content should be satisfying.
Or, if it would be put in a real add-on, which in my opinion would be the best thing to provide the amount of content that Liara and preferably the rest of the ME 1 LIs should get.

As for those worried that Liara won't be on the ME3 squad and will permanently be an information broker to replace the Shadow Broker: don't be. The only reason Liara is working as an information broker is to end the Shadow Broker. Once he's gone, she has absolutely no reason to carry on in that job and will then join up with Shepard again, as she expresses desire to in ME2. After what the devs said about the Kasumi audio files that people found turning out to be placeholders and garbage, the hidden Liara audio files are probably the same and nothing of what you hear in those hidden files will ever come about in the game.
Just be positive! We'll see more of the Beautiful Blue Goddess!

I really hope you are right les, I was overall happy with the hidden audio files and I also want to be surprised by the DLC and already know exactly how it's going to end.LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

All we can do is be confident at the moment until light is shed on the DLC, we will see our blue goddess again soon

We were discussing this in the group last night, and I thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention here. Do you think it's completely heartwarming and sweet how un-asari like Liara acts in Redemption and ME2? From what Liara tells us about the asari in ME1, she says that they take a philosophical approach to their partners dying, and have to accept it and move on. Not Liara, she deliberately went out of her way and put her own safety on the line just to get Shepard's CORPSE back. That's some dedication and devotion. That's why her line "Because I couldn't let you go" in ME2 is so special to me, because it shows how much Shepard means to Liara. Love her!
The emphasis of their approach wasn't on the accept it and move on part, that reference to what she says leaves out the other part. They cherish and appreciate the time they spend with their partners rather than focusing on how much time that might be. The asari looking for her locket, the Expedition asari, and the asari daughter and salarian stepfather at Memories of Illium all displayed a lot of emotion about previous relationships. So Liara doesn't seem to be acting unasari at all to me, they're not apathetic once a partner dies.
Not really the best analogy, but it is kind of like people and pets. Just because the pet is going to die before you and you will probably own several pets in your lifetime doesn't diminish any of the feelings you can have for each one during it's lifetime.
The asari approach isn't "Oh well, this one worn out, time to get another." It would be more like, "I love you now, and that is what is important, not what may happen tomorrow."
I think the events in the comics have special meaning to people who romanced Liara. But she does all that stuff as a friend as well (and even for lazy psycho default ME2 Shepard), and really I could see most of your squadmates going through the rescue if they had the chance. Of course, they couldn't do it as well, or as stylishly as Liara does.
Really that "Because I couldn't let you go" line should be LI specific in my opinion. She should have had a more neutral line for a friend. Even if she has feelings for Shepard no matter what an ass Shepard is, she should definitely feel and express herself differently towards a real partner rather than an unrequited crush.

Yep, I doubt that those hidden Liara audio files will ever see the light of day as the whole plot with Liara, the Shadow Broker and Shepard's body has been greatly expanded. The original intention seemed to have Liara and Shep take him out together, before killing Nyxeris to tie up loose ends. Liara then couldn't come with Shepard because "she has to read" and is looking for data that will help Shep in his/her battle against the Collectors. Thankfully, they completely dropped all of that!
I think I'm going to post one of my favourite Liara pics again. I love her smile!
