Edit: I feel completely out of place. You guys are so formal-no smileys, no pics, every post is at least a full paragraph.

Heh, go back quite a few pages, HK. We can go pretty nutty over Liara when we want to, loads of pics and <3. Sometimes we want to have serious debate, speculation and discussion, other times we just love to go crazy over how much we wuv Liara!

But I think HK is right.  Our posts often have actual substance behind them.

It would make sense for TIM to be manipulating her, since he lied in the beginning about who Liara worked for.
But the question is, what would he have to gain from it? She is against the SB and the SB is probably out to get TIM.
I am assuming TIM wants to protect himself but even TIM should see that Liara cannot defeat the SB by herself, even with the help of Cerberus.

I don't know, there might be another party involved that could shed some light on the situation.
You would think there would be a better way to find the SB instead of using Liara's love for Shepard to make her try and kill the SB (I am assuming that is what he is doing, it could be something else though).

Some people argue that TIM could/would have retrieved Shepard's body without Liara, though he was willing to let her go and try because it was effectively free.  Then, if she were to be successful, TIM could shut her out from being able to get close to Shepard.

As for what TIM could gain from keeping Liara away from Shepard, I would say safety-of-investment.  He wants Shepard focused, and working with humanity (Cerberus') best-interests in mind.  That Shepard can fall in love with Tali is unfortunate, at least for TIM, and I say that without the intention of riling up the Talimancers.

That would make sense for the reason, TIM should know how much Shepard loves Liara, why not use her for free.

Although, since TIM knows Liara is on Illium and he sends Shepard to Illium, he has to know that they would meet. Even EDI tells you to meet her.
You would think TIM would tell Liara to say what she really wants to and express her love because it should be more upsetting for Shepard to see Liara the way she is and not even a mention of their Union or love.
Shepard should be completely unfocused and be an emotional wreck after the reunion with Liara.

I see that as well in the Miranda storyline. I romanced her once to get the achievement(I'm a nut about that) but have remained faithful to my liara since. I did however enjoy her background story and how she eventually falls in love with you and shep with her. It just seems the devs did this on purpose to make us cheat or because they are not going to make a concerted effort to bring her back.

The way Liara, Ashley and Kaidan are in ME2 is to try to drive you away from them, to try to get you to cheat so that they can create drama in ME3.

However, if you read between the lines with all three of them you realise that Ash, Kai and Liara all still care deeply about Shepard, and that Shep's death has had a profound effect on all of them. I hope that in ME3 we do get a substantial reward for keeping Liara as our LI throughout all 3 games.

I am still doing side quests with the Lovely Liara at my side. <3:wub:
Liara makes ME1 perfect instead of great. <3:wub:
The Liara Expansion will make ME2 perfect as well (besides the obvious main story flaws). <3:wub:

I don't mind the Mako, I love the feeling of exploration you get with driving around on an uncharted planet.

Plus, it's great having Liara at your side as you're driving about! <3

I try and just go into a trance or study something from memory during the side missions and think about the next time I can talk to Liara.

I agree, the side missions can be very repetitive, for me, Liara completely makes up for them and takes ME to a whole other level of gaming.

I wouldn't even mind driving around as much if it wasn't for the 90 degree incline every five minutes.
I can only imagine Liara's fright as Shep drives like an insane person, leaping from 50 meters in the air.

Haha, I often wondered that in the past, too, if Liara is sitting there in the Mako like "Goddess, Shepard drives like a lunatic!"

In my current ME1 game, the blue angel and me are about to kick Saren and Sovereign ass. Going to take a little break from ME1 after that, have 5 ME1 playthroughs since ME2 was released. Think I'm going to play a little BG2 for a while. When I'm done with that there may be some nice Liara DLC/expansion available *fingers crossed*

I didnt mind it that much either, what I hated was going up 90 degree angles all the time.:pinched:

Also after a while it gets repetative to keep going to different planet to planet for the many side quests.
And whenever I play ME1 I always have to do everything in it.:pinched: Thats whats really keeping me from doing it again.
I will do it again soon though, those conversations with Liara will be worth it.

I think I may complete this ME1 playthrough with this FemShep, get her to level 60, then play a few other games for a while. When the Liara DLC comes about, I'll play it with my main DudeShep, and then I'll import my FemShep and play the Liara content as part of a main ME2 playthrough for the first time. The way Liara was supposed to be in ME2!

I wonder if that is why she doesn't want to come back to the Normandy in ME2, she thinks Shepard will get behind the wheel again, lol.
If only we could tell The Beautiful Blue Goddess that there is now a hovercraft and she need not worry. <3

The Beautiful Blue Goddess should never wonder if Shepard still loves her in ME2 (Shep will always love her no matter what, even when he/she sits there with no emotion before the Expansion is released), I just can't wait it be able to say, "I love you Liara" before, during, and after the emotional conversations.

"Don't worry Liara, you won't have to endure my crappy driving skills any longer!"

Yeah, I'm looking forward to finally showing Liara some love in the DLC, and some appreciation and sympathy for everything she's been through and suffered all for Shep. When she almost burst into tears on Illium it was so sad.

I still cant decide if I really want to do ME1 all over again.
I did everything I possible could in my run that I imported into ME2, but I want more Liara!
I dont know if I should just wait for the ME2 Liara dlc or just do ME1 again.
How are you guys finding your reruns of ME1?

Haven't played it in a long while and I'm finding all kinds of new dialogue that I must have missed when I played it last. Don't know how cause I got like twenty saved games... but it's refreshing. Nice to hang with my blue goddess again too!

Just ordered issue 3 or Redemption on ebay. Hopefully it'll arrive soon, the seller said 2 days or something, so hopefully I won't have to wait long, after reading #2 last night i'm just dying to see what happens next.

The comics are the closest i'll be able to get to see Liara for a while sadly, which GCSE exams around the corner I don't really have the time to start my vital second ME2 playthrough. That's why i'm kinda hoping for a DLC release of July/August, meaning i'll have plenty of time to get that second playthrough finished before being able to properly show my love to my blue goddess.
