It would be great, but a lot of things that we can think up would be great. Right now it is hard to predict anything as far as BioWare is concerned. The signs certainly aren't promising for anyone who cares about story, depth, romances, and characters other than Tali.

If they go through the trouble of killing Wrex, letting the council die, the Rachni Queen, Shiala, pointing a gun at Conrad, etc. You'd think they'd do a canon romance.  it would make sense for it to be Liara....ash is straight and Kaidan is straight. liara is the only fitting choice, plus she helped save Shephard when everyone else moved on.

Seems canon to me unless you don't want to upset the fanbase, but what about wrex fans and people that want to be paragon? 
Wimping may be a tough word, but it seems fitting.

It will happen. The game is set to do just that. If you had her as you LI in 1 and take no other in 2, you end up walking to your room, at the end of 2, and looking at her photo, just hours before your Shep enters what he/she thinks to be a suicide mission. Your Shep obviously loves her and misses her, and Bioware set it up that way. She will be back in 3 if not in DLC. How you play 2 will set up 3. Sick to your character and see what happens...

I think they've done it that way so that there are the fewest references to ME1 as possible, so as to not confuse new players. To make it a standalone game for them, ME2 feels as disconnected from ME1 as possible.

I'm pretty sure it's from ME1.  Not only is that (i think) Ashley in that pic but it looks to me like it's in the engine room where Tali is.  My guess it's an early picture from before the game was release to advertise and show off the characters or something.

Mainly because none of your ME 1 decision actually matter. The connections to ME 1 are nice, but it all feels like tacked on service to the fans. At least we got that (if not for the romances), but the whole trilogy premise was obviously not followed through.

This was a big chance for BioWare to establish the idea of telling one story through several full-price games. The developers could save development time with each "episode", because they could re-use existing assets and rely on character and plot introductions given before. With the focus on the static consoles, you don't even have to worry that much about improving graphics.

And that's the puzzling part: Instead of relying on the foundations from ME 1, they threw everything away and started anew with so many new characters and a completely new (rather underwhelming) story arc. And like expected, the quality of the whole game suffered, because you just can not do everything from scratch perfectly in that time frame.

So much sacrificed, such a big chance wasted, only to bring in new players. It was obviously a commercial success this time, but of course there was never a chance that ME 2 wouldn't be. Remains to be seen what consequences people draw from ME 2 when it comes to the decision whether to buy ME 3. I know that I will be very wary.

Noticed the talk of epic love story Shep/Liara, could this be, if you play it right? One of the first things I thought of at the beginning of ME2 was "with this new, improved Shep body, how long can Shep live now? Could this be a chance to love Liara longer than the normal human life span? Please, please, please BW, make it so!"

It's from my still planned fanfiction... problem is that my writen English is soooo rusty so i don't known if i ever will made such.

Whole concept of my fiction is a crossover between my version of the SW alternative universe(about 5000 years after TNH) and Mass Effect universe.

However i am not sure if this could be anything good after all.

Lets see, after reading trough the new pages Its time to have my say aboute the things discused.

First, some really nice pics of Liara...

Aboute TIM not telling Shep aboute Liara, I think its beacuse I dont like there realationship. Hes to "al human" and probebly whants Shep to be with a humen of his choice, like Miranda.  
 
My Shep got flat drunk after the first meeting with Liara... 

Aboute the LiaraDLC, I have learned by now not to get my hopes up. I will scream with joy when we have crosed that river and are safe on the over side (so to speak)  
 
One more thing, aboute the wotingpage. If you look at the stats Its pretty clear what we players think of the new ME 2 characters... A bit supriced aboute Tali being no 1 thou. How can resist our blue goddess?
I to like Tali, but only as a substitute for Liara.

Still waiting for my comics...

Tali (whit all respect for her) wins because players have chance to interact whit her on level unavailable for Liara fans.

I am sure if Liara and Tali get same treatment in game then such vote could be pretty close .
