I demand paragon interrupt to have Shepard strip down to his boxers and try and break it up, or Im not buying it.

My Shep wants that Paragon interrupt as well.
She would be willing to get her underwear dirty for the greater good of everyone. :D

I am sure if Liara and Tali get same treatment in game then such vote could be pretty close .

I actually think Talis romance is far too brief to compare to Liaras (or basically the ME1 LIs). It still follows the same "hesitant romance" path, only thats practically ALL Talis romance offers. A few conversations of "I like you Shepard, but I understand if you want to go screw someone you might not kill when you do it".

Sure, its nicely written and very sweet, but theres next to nothing to it, and it doesnt even involve itself in the suicide mission in any way. At least Liara comes to comfort Shepard after the council screws him over, and you get one of the most sweet "almost kiss" moments ever.

Edit: Plus the ME1 love scenes absolutely trounce the ME2 ones. No question.

Thanks for that image! (Now we need BioWare to follow through with it in secondary DLC). :D

Okay, I just made a post on a Kasumi thread making it very clear that ... a) my NERDRAGE!!! earlier on in the thread (where I actually said "Don't make me come up there, BioWare!") was me at five in the morning when I feel like it should be four in the morning, and yet B) I'm still not paying seven dollars to get someone I don't know about, but c) if it were Liara, had dialogue, and even had some interaction with Ash and Kaidan, I'd blow a full 1600 Xbox points on it, even if there weren't many more missions attached than with Kasumi.

Did I end up speaking for the majority here?  Even though I only claimed to be speaking for myself.  (And I'm sure I was speaking for a few of us with that one comment I quoted :innocent:.)

But enough of my whining about them pricing content I don't want and need higher than I would pay.  (Though seriously, do we need a better SMG than the Tempest?  No, what we need is an ammo carrying boost for the second assault rifle.  Okay, rant finally over.)

I think I'm going to wade my toe into the wild world of posting fanfics sometime soon after I edit, re-edit, scrap, start from scratch, alpha, beta, and gamma my first-person, 'real-time-perspective' fic -- as in, "I say" rather than "I said".  Probably a holdover from my SL days.  (Oh, and title it.  That's important, too.)  Wish me luck.

I have to say, I never get excited about anything unless I can see it is definitely coming or logically coming.
I can honestly say that I believe the emotional, romantic Liara Expansion we all want is coming and will have everything (or most) of what we want in it.

It has already been proven that BioWare is definitely going in the direction of a deep, beautiful story between Liara and Shep. I mean, they even set the story up that way themselves.
Now all we have to do is wait  the Redemption #4 comic for news, there could very well be news in the actual comic.

I would certainly buy The Liara Expansion we want for 20$.

If you think about it, Rockstar did make The Ballad of Gay Tony about the diamond subplot of GTA IV. How long was that Expansion? 15+ hours?
I can see BioWare making a 15+ hour Liara Expansion (of course it would involve a lot of story as well as emotion content. The actual story would be very emotional too) that bridges ME2 to ME3.

@JaylaClark

I just read through your Kasumi posts last night through just now and I agree. Just sucks wading into that kind of discussion. I've seen people asking to be able to skip those intro movies to get to the face creator quicker, and there have been insane people telling them how they're whiners and sitting through all that stuff isn't that bad so they should just shut up.

I seriously think if a game shipped missing the model and textures for the player's freaking head, that there would be people defending the artistic choice of the developers and how the people complaining were mentally defective in some manner for not being able to immerse themselves without the crutch of their character having a head.

It'd be nice if there was a chance to constructively discuss what is a reasonable expectation to have from a priced DLC, but it can be hard fending off the mob to do so.

Yeah, RockStar, to me, could well be the gold standard of DLC and expansion just for that, and I'm really glad that that's out there for companies like EA/BioWare to see as an example.  I just hope it sold well enough to serve as said inspiration...

But if they have fifteen hours of new content?  I could easily see myself stretching past $20 if need be, though I'd appreciate it I didn't have to. ^_^.

I would even pay full price for that, if it's really well done (like, ME 1 well). I just can't see it happening. There are probably not enough potential buyers to make it a commercial success, or at least BioWare/EA would think there aren't. And let's face it, judging from this forum at least, the Liara fans aren't exactly the biggest group. Might sell better if you put lots of stuff to shoot into the expansion... and there you have it, again.

Apparently Episodes from Liberty City sold 1.29m units (I don't know how much they sold individually, I am guessing there are a lot more I didn't account for) so I guess that would be 51.6m dollars (without taxation and such).
I can see BioWare going for those numbers with the Liara Expansion, I would assume they could easily sell 1m units (half of the people who bought ME2 in the first week of release) at 20$ and make 20m dollars.

That gives me even more reason to believe that we will have a deep, emotional, fufilling Liara Expansion.
How much did ME2 cost to make anyway, 25m - 30m dollars?
If so, then I would imagine the Liara Expansion would cost 5m - 10m to make.
They would definitely have a nice profit margin.
Hell, I would pay 60$ for a 20+ hour, deep, emotional Liara Expansion.

Apart from loving Liara, specifically, I thought that I'd list some of my thoughts for why I like the Asari species as a whole.   I encourage other people to list their reasons, too.

I like the Asari because I find their long lives and devotion to their partners to be tender, romantic notions.  That Liara can find someone to love (Shepardso early in her life is fortuitous for her, and impressive for me.

The child of an Asari/non-Asari pairing will live far longer than even the whole its non-Asari parent's lifetime.  That is wonderous within itself.  That is the symbolic act of passing on one's memories, experiences, advice and values to one's children.

An Asari herself will love far longer than her non-Asari partner.  An Asari will also, potentially, have multiple partners during her lifetime.  It might be controversial for me to say this, but I'm not put off by this because I don't subscribe to the belief that I "own" my spouse's body and soul, and, likewise, she doesn't own my body and soul.  When I'm gone, I live on through my wife and children's memories of me, and the way I influenced my wife and children during my life.

To expect that a woman who can live over 1000 years should simply wait for her own death and for the Hereafter is, in my opinion, selfish.  In fact, I would hope that, if I had an Asari as a wife, that she would go move on eventually, after my death.   The only thing I would expect of her is to treat our children fairly and to raise them as she thinks I would want her to (which, hopefully, is the way we both want them to be raised).

As much as it may pain me to say so, an Asari wife's life could contain so much more potential happiness (and woe) if she were to move on, and have happy and sad moments with others, and to have children with them, as well.

Phew.  That's a lot of pondering about romance.  Discuss.

It depends though on the asari's age.

If she is already in her maiden stage then she might not take on another partner since most asari settle down and raise children at that stage.
And after that most asari dont take on a partner when in the matriarch stage.

I think it is very obvious that the Asari were designed to look quite human still, yet exotic. And I admit that I find this much more appealing for an LI in a video game (and more believable for MY Shepards) than strange and ugly aliens, or ones that I can't see at all. Of course as always, looks are by far not everything. I like the Liara character, and her romance in ME 1 felt to be done with much more care by the developers, more natural, and was much better integrated into the main story than all romances in ME 2 combined.
