I figure the way things are going we will get a Liara DLc that explains why the desk outside her office has no way to get behind it......like maybe it's a secret entrance to Liara's version of a Batcave. Then when we get down there (alone with no NPCs) its all consoles and screens with SB info swirling around and downloading and uploading. Shiala and a few asari commandos are down there as well.

As we get down into the lair an asari we meet later says" Liara, Aria t'Lok is on scrambled conference call for you..."
Liara: " I'll be with you in a moment Shephard..."

Shephard then walks around  in amazement at all Liara has assembled in such a short time.... then Shiala escorts Shephard to a private room....Shiala: " This way Commander Shephard....I didn't say this, but Liara is a very lucky woman." She smiles and walks away...

Entering the room you see the graceful dignity of asari interior design and artistic quality liara prefers. The elegance of Liara's tastes are a side you never saw, but you are gladdened to see she has restraint and humility. Then you see something that makes you smile...  a table next to her sitting desk. On it are things you recognize....a piece of your N7 armor, a photo of the two of you taken on the Citadel, and a piece of your personal locker from the crashed Normandy that has Commander Shephard printed on it (the place of your almost first kiss). Then you sit down head in your hands and Liara enters...

Liara: " I'm sorry Shephard that was a call I couldn't miss..............Shephard?" She looks where you are...
" Oh, I see. I know its silly, but as I told you... I couldn't let you go." She looks down.

Shephard walks to Liara..looks kindly at Liara lifting her chin, and slowly they embrace.

Shephard: " I'd hoped, Liara, all I had was hope. I felt so empty inside all this time..alone. Thank you for holding on, and ....and for not letting go. Don't ever let go."

They kiss.......

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy.......

Plus she gives you more cash for completing her missions if she was your LI, money can buy you love according to BW ;-)

By the way, I think there also may be a difference in a way Liara says the "couldn't let you go" line if she was your LI. I think they made it so she looks a little sadder, and she does that sad sideways look if she is your LI.

I know when you agree to help her with the side missions though she smiles, and if she wasnt your LI then she just keeps a straight face.

I don't know why I haven't noticed this.  I saw the non-romanced Liara vid on youtube and I couldn't tell the difference just by watching that.  I might need to look at them side by side.

Its weird. I know I got the whisper thing and my first play through was a male Shep. I thought only fem sheps got that?



I've noticed subtle nuances every time almost. I'm wondering if its random or little things vary based on your ME1 decisions....

My Shepard had to her her "Liara 4 Life" tattoo removed after ME 2. She couldn't afford normal treatment so she had to have Legion do it. Let's just say it got ugly, as I don't think the Geth realize that pulse lasers aren't meant for cosmetic purposes...

Yeah, but we shouldn't have to compare videos on Youtube to squeeze a few drops of special meaning out of the encounter. Liara as an LI should have been saying different words, Shepard should have been out of that chair and hugging Liara.

Needing to compare tone and animated facial expressions on two mutually exclusive playthroughs thanks to other players making recordings and putting them on Youtube isn't subtle at all to me. That is just poor storytelling.
