I'd actually prefer it if Liara accompanied you on a mission against the SB, rather than her being captured and you rescuing her. I'd prefer it if she's with you throughout the mission, confronting her demons and emotional torment head on as it gives more chance of Shep and Liara having emotional dialogue about it, something not possible if you just rescued Liara. The potential for deep emotional moments is far greater if Liara is with Shep, as they both finish this personal quest together.
After the mission, we then get the additional scene in Shep's cabin if she is your LI.

Ok, but i doubt that she'll be a squadmate I really hope it, but i doubt it. I would be happy to be wrong, however. The idea of confronting her demons and her torment and character development can still be in there if we have to rescue her, the DLC doesn't necessary need to be just about rescuing her.
Maybe i should extend my idea a bit more:
You could help her tracking the SB down and finally finde the clue to find him.  You join her but something goes wrong and Liara get captured. Until that point you could easily show her feelings and facing her demons. Shep finally rescues her and then i imagine her last emotinal walls break and we'll see the old and cute and lovely Liara from ME1 again. Then, if she is your LI, you'll get another scene where she confesses her love again...

Ok, enough written. What do you think of that idea? What should happen in LDLC?

Yeah, I believe Liara is going to be a temporary squad member for the Expansion.

I still wonder if she would stay on the Normandy in Shep's quarters after the Expansion.
It would make sense, although BioWare might have her go back to Illium to finish up some stuff before ME3.

I strongly hope she stays with Shep after the Expansion is over, but I don't know how BioWare wants to start ME3 off.
They might want to save her for a recruiting mission in ME3, but then again, she as absolutely no reason to stay on Illium after the Expansion is done.

She could easily stay on the Normandy and be an immediate squadmate for ME3.

I dont think they will keep her on your team, but it would be nice. I want Liara.:crying:

I swear, I would either kick everyone out of the airlock or let everyone else die in the suicide mission to make room on the ship for Liara.

I am 100% sure she will be a squadmate in ME3 though.
But, I want Liara on the Normandy after the Expansion as well.

They key is to not finish the expansion.  If Liara's on the ship before the exciting conclusion, and she's going to be off if you get to the end...you just never get to the end.  Image IPB

Good idea,
We should do everything else in the game then do the Liara Expansion, but not finish it until the day before ME3 comes out and it will be as though she never left, lol.

Oh, in ME3 she better be a squadmate, or I will launch a one man assult on their headquarters.

Oh, that sounds alright. What I thought you meant is that you'd get an email telling you that Liara has been captured by the Shadow Broker, and then you fight your way through some goons before finding Liara in a cell. Bang, mission complete.

But your idea sounds cool, and gives ample opportunity for some good, deep interaction between Liara and Shep.

Yeah, we would have an army of people ready to take BioWare out.
Hell, I am Canadian and I would launch an assault on them if they didn't put her in ME3 (impossible to do as they already set her up to be a squaddie).

Nope.  I'm in.  There's a small horde of Liara fans I know from the old forums who'd be in as well.

Well, BioWare said they wanted to have all of the ME1 LIs survive for ME3 and she is the only character that cannot die so I can only believe she would be a squaddie in ME3.
Of course, it is not official.

I'd be staggered if Liara and the surviving Alliance soldier weren't squadmates in ME3, to be honest. They've said it themselves that they had smaller roles in ME2 because they wanted them to survive until ME3 when they will recieve large roles again. What's the best way a character can get a large role? Squadmate status.

It would be very interesting to see how Shep would handle that situation emotionally.
I would imagine it would be a very emotional time for Shep to get her back.

Why would the Shadow Broker capture Liara and not just kill her? The only reason to keep her alive would be as collateral for some sort of trade with Shepard. He would put that in danger by just "going all out" on the SB. The Shadow Broker isn't stupid, just greedy.

One thing I would like to see explained is the glowings eyes. Right now I'm assuming it has to do with biotics. When I first saw it --in the Samara trailer-- I wondered if it was something that only the most powerful and experienced of asari could do. But that theory was rendered moot by Redemption, were we clearly see Liara's eyes glow.

Specifically, I'm wondering if it occurs when Liara's biotics reach a certain focus and intensity, as issue three would indicate. However, when you go speak with Samara, her eyes are glowing and she's not doing anything spectacular with her biotics. Personally, I'm chalking this up to experience.

Another interesting note would be that when you first recruit Samara, the white eyes seem to "come on" so to speak, in the same manner as the black eyes of a melding.

Hopefully this will be elaborated upon in future content, and hopefully we'll be able to see Liara's eyes glow within the game rendering! Image IPB That would be great.

One thing that drives me mad about the ME universe. Once you do a loyalty mission for same gender people they basically have one good conversation with you then..."Thanks for risking your life for me, but I'm done talking to you"..... Arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.
