@Asheer_Khan - glad you liked the captions :) Thanks for the pictures!

As for the secret Shep/Liara love-child ... I think that would work very well if this game where "Shepard and Liara: a Love Story", in which two people, literally from different planets, find each other while, incidentally, saving the galaxy from total extinction of all organic life.

Which, y'know, I would totally play. And would, in some ways, make a lot more sense as far as the extreme-ness of Liara's character arc from ME1 to ME2. I think the hardened/darkened Liara makes a lot of sense, considering what she's been through, but making the Maiden/Matron transition early (which the codex entry on Asari says CAN happen) on top of all the crap that's happened in the two years Shep was dead makes the severity of the change make >more< sense. Asari maidens feel a drive to wander around and see the galaxy, and experience things. While it was perhaps more introverted than usual, Liara's archaeological wanderings fit. The Matron stage is characterized by settling down into one place, having children, and basically having a more stable life - which fits in with setting up a respectable day-job as an information broker on Illium.

But, well - that fits fanfic more than a game, or some other kind of static story. Shepard is just too variable for that to be a viable arc in a video game, and it really >would< (as many other people have mentioned/discussed) absolutely require retconning how Asari reproduction works to allow for accidental pregnancy. No way Liara just decides to have Shep's baby without, y'know ... asking.

So ... for the Epilogue Baby Yes people and the Epilogue Baby No people ... what's your Shep's background? Personally, my Shep is a Colonist, so Shep's family was killed by Batarian Slavers. For me, this says Shep joined the Alliance to stop this kind of crap from happening to anyone else, and family is something Shep wants. My ideal epilogue would have Shep and Liara go on some more awesome adventures, but eventually settle on Mindoir, with Epilogue Baby Yes, where Shep's presence pretty much stops anyone from f-ing with Mindoir ever again, making it the human planet safest from outside attack other than Earth.

Uhh ... yes, I have a tendency to overthink things. Why do you ask?

Be careful Somebody, some of your friends from the Tali thread might see that post.

Oh lol they know how I am now.
They found out recently my true LI and ever since I have been called turncoat and such.

Ah ok, nevermind then. Hope their not giving you too hard a time. I'm sure most of us on this thread don't mind if you rag on tali.

Howd ya know I frequented that thread?

Yeah I used to post originally there even though I never cared about Tali that much, and finally admitted to my love for Liara to them and found this thread.

You know, there's a lot of social pressure in our society to love Tali.  But for some people loving Tali doesn't feel quite right.  This leads to experimentation with other LIs, but even so the social pressures force many non-Tali lovers to hide their true feelings and continue to profess their feelings for Tali even when they aren't there.

Its often hard for families and friends to deal with this truth, but I'm glad you came out of the closet so the healing process can begin.  Hopefully your friends and family will come to understand and accept you for who you are.  And know you always have a family here should things get rough.

Evil peer pressure!

I used to consider these LI topics as a time sink I couldn't afford. In time I noticed that I always took Liara's side in arguments and she was simply the most complete package found from Mass Effect universe, so I gave up and joined the social group and started posting here.

I always play a Spacer Shepard, so I'd love to introduce Liara to Hannah Shepard. "Mom, this is Dr Liara T'Soni, my bondmate. Don't hate her because she's beautiful". ;-)

I would actually be a little worried to introduce my Asari bondmate to a hardcore Alliance military mom. Regardless, this is one scene I would love to see in ME3 (not that I expect it to happen anyway). ;)

Yeah, I always play as a Spacer as well, it would be nice to  be able to introduce Liara to Hannah.
Liara might give herself one of her cute facepalms during or after the conversation.

I'm sure Hannah would be pretty understanding and supportive, actually. She seemed very compassionate, kind and empathetic when speaking to her over the FTL Comm in ME1, and the way she asks you to help out Zabaleta. I'm sure she'd love to have Liara in the family.

Also, those pics on the previous page are lovely. Gotta love the Beautiful Blue Goddess.

Since there were several months between the end of ME 1 and the beginning of ME 2, I would assume that Shepard would already have told them about her, if they wouldn't even have met at some point. But anyway, I would like to see that scene too. But the origins will probably again play no role worth mentioning in ME 3.

:DDDDDD!!!!! If it's possible to smile so much that it's loud, then I'm doing it right now! That would be a fantastic ending! A cute little blue Shep for the blue goddess and her cyborg zombie bondmate to raise together! :DDDD <3

"Cyborg zombie bondmate"!  Nice.

And yes, I am about 11 hours behind.

Shepard: And.. ahem. You should know, mother, that we have minor age difference among other things.

Liara: Yes. I am older than you both combined. I'm not really that old. I am considered almost a child in Asari terms.

Hannah: o_o

Liara is the only person my Earthborn/War Hero Adept has known any kind of love with, so saying she's fanatically devoted would be an understatement. Everything good and worth preserving is held in those sweet asari blue eyes. And why TIM would be gutted just on his slander of Liara alone. Even the Mess Chief got a twitch out of me for his asari "tentacle head" comment.

Since it is the final game, I can definitely see BioWare putting some real effort into the ME1 romances and giving us sweet and loving scenes.
I am sure BioWare will let the relationship with Liara develop beautifully and have several different and very sweet scenes at the end depending on what you did and what conversations you had with Liara.
Obviously, there couldn't be a million different endings, but I can imagine at least three to four.
Of course, we still need the Liara Expansion to come out for ME2 to be perfect (forget about the main story). <3

Like Jayla said a few days ago, I did like all the little nods to those of us who romanced Liara. Stuff like Shep getting offended when that asari says you only have to wait a few years when you're with a human, but it's a lifetime commitment with a krogan, that asari that weeps over her deceased human bondmate's picture, the turian and asari couple on the Citadel who are discussing whether to get a fish, and the asari starts talking about the long view. All nice little nods to the Shep/Liara relationship.

Where/when is this, exactly?

On the Citadel, in the souvenir shop I believe. The turian complains that the fish will die pretty quickly so it's not really a good souvenir, but the asari then say that it's important to cherish the time you spend with the fish. The turian then grumbles about her bringing up the long view again.

Hey! What about Female Shepard? Why do people insist on defaulting Shepard to he? I guess I'm just going to default her to she from now on just for balance sake.

I always default Shep to she.  I always play femshep (a strong woman kicking ass and saving the universe is just too cool), and so Shepard is a woman in my mind.  As far as I'm concerned the idea that Shepard can be male is rumor and conjecture at best.  I've seen no hard evidence!  Image IPB

It is definitely a good thing BioWare put all those little nods to us Liara lovers in there, it means they are thinking about us and we are not forgotten.
I definitely liked when Shep got offended with the waiting for humans to die comment.
Shep still loves Liara more than anything.<3

*sigh* Fish feeder would really be a hit for that shop.

Never caught that dialogue, btw, thanks for sharing. ^_^

I just can't wait for the Liara DLC, I want to speak to my bluebunny again. Tell her she's loved, and not to feel guilty.

Ever notice when Morinth is killed, that smirk that Shep gives her? It's like Shep is saying "I've been with an asari before, and she was beautiful, kind and compassionate. And it certainly isn't you!"

Ah, the little nods to Liara. Wuv her!

I usually never get excited about anything until I am close to whatever it is, but I do indeed keep getting excited about the Liara Expansion every day.
I will love playing ME2 when I know after the end, we will get to go on a great adventure with Liara and, more importantly, help her get rid of her negative emotions through emotional and romantic conversations.
Honestly, the two year wait for ME2 is actually going to be worth it with a 15+ hour Liara Expansion.

Yeah, I always think of Shep as a female.
I try to just refer to Shepard using her last name for the MaleSheps out there.
I should probably use "her" to make it fair, lol.

Seeing The Beautiful Blue Goddess smile again will be so nice.
She has probably been through more hell in a short time period than any other squadmate in ME.
The Lovely Liara deserves to be happy with Shepard and go back to her beautiful blue colour.:wub:<3<3:wub::wub:

I know the Liara Expansion is probably 2-3 months off, but I am just so excited to have emotional conversations with her, she needs to let all of her negative emotions go and be happy again. <3:wub:<3

You know it, Stubbs. I'm looking forward to some tender moments with Liara again, and hopefully her and Shep can talk it through and both open their hearts.
