Well personally I also think Cerberus is the most logical thing, but as I said such a move wouldnt be suprising
So far their surprises have been pretty tame...more surprising to the characters IN STORY than to the reader. I can't imagine something so wild being left to a comic book either, as assuming MOST players won't read it, it would be difficult to integrate into ME 3, if it truly has a HUGE effect...

Hm if you go by shocking suprises from the comic characters pov then the big surprise might as well be Project Lazarus
I am thinking that may be it as well...
Liara so far has no idea why she is recovering the body other than the Collectors have a "bad" use for it and Cerberus is looking to protect the integrity of the body. She has no expectation yet she will see Shepard again...
I am sure such a revelation, considering that Miranda and Cerberus people are on the cover, would be shocking to Liara.

Hmm, perhaps you're right. Maybe a significant part of issue 4 will show Liara struggling to make the decision to hand Shepard's body over to Cerberus, and then the beginning of her guilt and emotional pain when she then obviously does. It could show her emotions and how much it's already beginning to eat away at her for what she's doing with Shepard's corpse, because she can't let him/her go. She'd then vow revenge against the Shadow Broker, and there you are.
Its one thing to hand over Shepard's body to save it indignities on the hands of the Collectors...its another to hand it to Cerberus to revive Shepard and know that he will be bound to a "terrorist" organization and its goals. Liara would remember the horrible things Cerberus was involved in during the first game, so it wouldn't be so easy a decision.
See Shepard alive again, but watch her/him work for an organization with a bad history, or leave the commander dead...and gone forever.
Like I said, I can't imagine Comic #4 will be too wild of a surprise unless it truly is OUT OF LEFT FIELD like Feron is the Dark Lord of the Sith or something like that...

I think that would be an interesting thing to explore in issue 4, just how Liara made the decision to hand Shepard's corpse to Cerberus. She obviously does it somewhat reluctantly, and as shown in ME2 hates herself for doing so and is terrified that Shep will hate her too. If it does show the beginning of Liara's sorrow and guilt, then I think it will be quite an interesting theme to explore.
Really looking forward to finding out now, I want to see what's happened to Liara and how she needs her emotional torment eased.

it would be interesting to see how Liara reacts if you embrace Cerberus. Shepard is given the option of basically endorsing the Illusive Man and, of course, giving him the Base. I would think she wouldn't be pleased...or maybe surprised to see you too went down a dark path, as she did, to save the Galaxy...

I doubt the comic has much time for in depth exploring of Liaras emotional conflict, taking into account that still have to shove in action scenes with no dialogue and the last issue wont be longer then the other three.
I guess we might get a short insight into at the end at best.

Yeah, I think that they will probably use the Liara dlc to go more into depth with what she went through emotionally, and how she feels.Noxis6 wrote...

Think of how you could make Ash Paragon in ME1, or turn Kaidan into an angry Renegade.

I just thought how Liara might turn out like a Bastila in KOTOR. She may choose the light side, as Shepard does, or she may follow you down the renegade road...a "Dark" Liara...maybe all in black with different Biotic powers. Crazy stuff.

Becoming an Information Broker is not a clean business. My point was you can help orient her road. Maybe she begins to return to normalcy if you are a Paragon and if not, she starts to agree with your "take no prisoners" attitude. her voice gets deeper, her manner shorter.
At this point in the game series, none of the squad is really effected if you are Paragon or Renegade (unless you fail their loyalty quest). That would add a twist to the whole idea...

Yeah being able to push squadmates into a certain direction would be nice you could do it with Garrus in ME1,wether that had an effect is up to debate but not important,so why not but it shouldnt affect powers,on the same not I hope they never introduce weapons that are bound on paragon/renegade scores the ME Universe is just too "realistic" for that

I do reckon that, in ME3, Renegade Shepards will tell Liara to keep this tough facade to her personality and tell her to remain ruthless, whereas Paragon Sheps will help her re-embrace her kind and compassionate personality.

Perhaps powers in the sense that if you save the Collector Base, Shepard and the squad get access to abilities and weapons that have a renegade way about them. Maybe an indoctrination type weapon or more powerful, but twisted, biotic powers like the type the Collector General used. There has to be SOME benefit to saving the damn Base.

After reading Redemption 3 though, I'm kind of wondering how much choice Liara had in giving the body to Cerberus. It seems like Cerberus has vessels parked on the other side of that mass relay, Miranda among them, waiting for Liara to come back. I'm somehow doubting that Cerberus would accept, "No thanks, I'm going to make sure Shepard gets a proper funeral." and then let Liara fly off. If they kill her and take the body, then no one outside of Cerberus and the Shadow Broker's people know that all this stuff happened.

Sure some weapons tech would be an acceptable reward for saving the base,as for biotic powers I'm not if what Harbinger used was of biotic nature.

It really changes his dialog a bit.
Ashley is like this too?
Then in ME3 it should definitely be possible to influence Liara as well, based on what you say to her.
