That's my favorite picture ever!!!  Very detailed...even down to the little 'Paragon' symbol on Shepard's boots.

Realize also its a comic book, and comic books are driven by VISUAL action.  They are not meant to go into great narration or detail as a book or film could.  They have little room for such and we shouldn't expect a whole lot of that.  In fact, considering four pages of the comic is clearly just ass kicking, and there is likely to be more, I can pretty safely assume that there is not going to be a whole lot of room for character exposition, introspection, or great emotional depth.

Its a comic book folks.  Things blow up.  Action, ka-pow.  I think Liara's action packed attitude was played up exactly for that reason...there isn't time in a short comic to show "shy girl becomes badass" or explain why.


In other words, I wouldn't take Liara's personality as "canon" or necessarily what will be reflected in game.  No character, even renegade Shepard, comes off so over the top "eat sh** and die".

Now why did I go all the way back here just to say "No room for narrative in a comic book?  *glove_slap* 52, Watchmen, Linkara and I demand satisfaction!"

But I'm just being silly.  It is pretty difficult (though definitely not impossible) to convey anything of substance in a four-part series.  Which makes me wish they'd gone graphic-novel in this case.

Still, I think it's verrry odd to keep reading about how unnerving it is to see sweet, innocent Liara kicking so much ass.  As has probably been mentioned a few times in the past few pages, she has very likely tossed more than a few mercs and geth off of cliffs in the course of the first game, right?  And ... okay, here's military-wannabe-me again ... if people are trying to kill you, the most rational course of action is to kill them back so that they can't succeed in killing you.  Especially when you're outnumbered.

Then again, I haven't seen much of the comics yet -- I'm gonna buy it in the trade paperback in June -- so I'm not completely sure how her behavior is matching up, yet.  Plus this is distracting me from the pretty pictures , so I'm going to withold judgment for now.  And look at said pretty pictures .

People here prefer to discuss the thread's topic, unlike Tali in which it's a big chatroom.. My quastions concerning Liara were all answered, and I've noticed no negativity...

I like to watch Liara kick some ass!  I enjoy those comic book scenes...shows that she's one powerful biotic, which justifies Shepard's decision to use her as a squad member in ME1.   This will quite those that think Liara's just a weak 'academic type' and isn't suitable for combat.
